A word from Trevisio
Much like the Trevi Fountain in Rome for which it is named, Trevisio is unique and distinctive, and like no other Houston restaurant. Conveniently located for those who work, visit and live near the Med-Center and Museum District, Trevisio has been lauded for its food and
décor, and is a popular venue for private functions of all sizes and varieties. The menu is decidedly Italian with contemporary accents and modern sensibility. Under the direction of Executive Chef Jon Buchanan, the kitchen turns out classic Italian dishes as well as innovative
creations, all made with the freshest ingredients and artfully presented. The restaurant’s wine & spirits program is headed by award-winning Sommelier Sean Beck and perfectly complements the cuisine. Trevisio’s adjacent state-of-the-art conference center accommodates functions of all sizes and descriptions, for groups of five to 500. Trevisio also offers off-site catering.

Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I tried Trevisio after I found their great gluten-free menu online. The GF menu did not disappoint - there were many options and the fish I ordered was delicious. The only slightly disappointing GF offering was the chocolate cake, but only because I am very picky, and let's face it: very few restaurants have perfected GF desserts. The cake was slightly dry and it was a very small slice for $8. The restaurant was extremely quiet for a Saturday night, which is too bad. The location is great, the view is lovely, and the service was really great. (A little too attentive, but I attribute that to the number of patrons that were there that night.) I hope Trevisio is around for a long time - will definitely go back."

  • "Trevisio's food was ok for the price. Fairly comparable to alot of other places with a view, they always seem to think they can charge more for food that isn't as good as you'd expect. The view is pretty great and we had no problem getting a table by the windows with the Med Center in full view. The restaurant was very quiet, probably a better place for business lunch/dinners than a date night. They have an outdoor patio that would have been very nice, but the rain wasn't allowing outdoor dining. Parking is $5 if you validate with your server and its very convenient that the restaurant is right on top of the parking garage. Drinks were fair priced and well made. The service was also exceptional. "

  • "We were a party 12 people who spanned three generations and celebrated Mother's Day with a lovely buffet brunch. The service was outstanding, the view of the medical center was lovely and the menu was expansive- offering something for everyone."

  • "Had brunch with 3 young children. Lots of smaller rooms so even though the place was full, we were able to have a conversation. Nice selection of brunch foods including carving and omelet stations."

  • "Was an okay Brunch with a couple good dishes. Would not brunch here again but would come back to try for dinner. Reviews are good for the happy hour so will come back to try that as well."

  • "First impressions on a first date. I have been many times to this restaurant it was the first time for my date. She was impressed with the menu as she is a vegetarian, but actually ordered off the regular menu. The place is classy and yet casual at the same time. Service is outstanding without being over bearing."

  • "The staff is simply amazing! They try to accommodate in every way possible. However... they couldn't. The reviews did warn that the environment is a bit conference-y and...... it is. We thought surely any place can be intimate if you just dim the lights...their lights don't dim. Not any of them! Valentine romance shomance... nothing is romantic when you have full blaring lights on you. The view is not a view of the city as we thought the description said, it is a window to the walls of other hospitals. The "top" floor is only the 6th floor, so you are not very high up at all. The starters were PHENOMENAL!!! The main course was so so, the risotto a bit too heavy and overcooked, the desserts were hit or miss. MIne good, my wife's not."

  • "Great ambience, good food, but poor service. Waiter did not regularly check up on our table and had to be hailed whenever we needed anything at the table. It took over 30 minutes to get our checks, pay, and then get our credit cards and change back."

  • "Overall the food, atmosphere, and location was great. The service was decent, I think it would benefit Trevisio to train their wait staff to be more attentive and responsive to it's guest. The food was really good, I had the Red Snapper and loved it."

  • "This was me & my wife's 1st time to dine here. We went for Valentine's Day, which also happened to be our 27th wedding anniversary. The pre-fixed menu items were well presented & we enjoyed each course. We received excellent service from all of the wait staff. Just wish the floor plan was a little more cozier."

  • "Me and my lady friend had dinner here and the service was nice, the food and drinks were delicious. One thing I would have liked would have been a little classical music playing in the background. I think that would have made the ambiance a bit nicer. Overall, great place."

  • "I wanted to take my wife somewhere sepcial for Valentine's Day. The meal was good and the ambience was nice, but the service was a bit odd. I did not have any silverware, napkin or side dish and had to request it from the waiter. My soup came without a spoon and I had to request that too. We asked if certain dishes were available and the waiter proceeded to read us the menu. He was a bit pushy. Overall it was a good experience, but the service was not as smooth as one would expect from an upscale restaurant."

  • "Trevisio has always been a special place for us - we had our wedding reception there. It holds great memories, but, in general, Trevisio continues to disappoint. The service continues to be lacking, and the food, while good, isn't spectacular. Attention to detail is lacking - on the evening of February 13th, the Valentine's menu was already inserted into the menu. When I asked if it was available, I was told, somewhat rudely, the "It's not Valentine's Day yet". The decor, hasn't changed since Trevisio opened over 12 years ago,and is getting a bit dated, and worn around the edges. It's still a nice place for lunch, if you work in the Medical Center, and I'm sure we'll be back, if only for the memories."

  • "I wanted to plan a date night for my Fiance and wanted to try something new. I went to Trevisio before Prom in high school, 9 years ago and only remembered that it was a really nice restaurant. We went and the food was AMAZING! He doesn't usually love Italian but he enjoyed his meal to the fullest! He had the Eggplant Parmesan and I had the Margherita pizza. It was unlike any other pizza I've ever had before!"

  • "After the Impressionist exhibit at the MFAH we had dinner at Trevisio. The food and service were wonderful. We will return. Ambiance was a bit institutional. Appears to have been designed for very upscale business fine dining venue and conference dining venue. That's not at all offputing; it;s just not the "romantic little place". Their crab dishes are superb. Try the crab cake appetizer, the crab risotto, and the "trouta", parmesan crusted trout, tomato-basil lemon butter, spinach, penne marinara. Prices are very reasonable for the quality, service. Hard to find until your first visit, then easy; parking garage under the building. A hidden gem for lunch or dinner in the Houston Museum District."

  • "We ate here for an early dinner before Zoo Lights and were awed by the beautiful view, atmosphere, and wait staff. We had a baby and they never blinked as we tried to entertain her. The food was wonderful and the menu had something for everyone, from the meat eaters to the vegetarians to the fish lovers. Desserts and coffee were also special. Lovely location for a special occasion and my daughter put it on the list for Valentine's Day."

  • "Everything was top notch. I love restaurants that cater to a wide variety of palates and food options (vegetarian, vegan, gluten free). The food was delicious and the wine was very good. Our group was able to talk and enjoy our 4 hour dinner without hounding and haggling. The location is beautiful. Thank you for accommodating us so well."

  • "Visiting houston for one night and received this recommendation from local who said this was a must dine restaurant in Medical Center area. Not a soul in the restaurant. We were the only table in a very expansive dining room and were seated against a wall next to a double banquet door. Medical Center skyline view nice. Food lack luster. Lamb entree extremely tough. Server told us all the doctors on vacation, so that is why restaurant empty. Very uncomfortable feeling to be the only table in such a large dining room. Felt like dining in a hotel ballroom."

  • "My husband and I chose to have our anniversary dinner here since we had our reception dinner here a year prior. They made sure every moment was special! They sat us in a secluded are and offered complimentary champagne when we were seated. Everyone from the manager to the host wished us a happy anniversary. To top off the wonderful evening they brought us a lovely dessert. Their food is not overwhelming amazing but their service and for me that is most important! They made the evening truly special!"

  • "Had been wanting to try Trevisio for a number of years and finally took the HRW menu as an opportunity. We had a very nice evening and I can unreservedly recommend Trevisio should you find yourself in the Medical Center for any reason. The bar was bustling between 6:30 and 7:15 as the remnants of their Happy Hour specials wound down. Once that crowd left, the dining space was fairly quiet amongst the 6 or 7 tables of diners. Floor to ceiling windows that look out upon the Medical Center make for a very nice view. The food was good though not great. The arancini was more cheese than risotto and I was hoping for the other ratio. The risotto with shrimp and mushrooms was very good and a substantial portion. Nice varied wine list too"

  • "Have been to Trevisio's many times for small group & catered weekday lunches. We were celebrating a birthday, decided to go at 8:15 on a Friday, based on these good experiences. Place was nearly empty & soon we were the only table. Waiter disappeared & others helped fill the gap. My entree, linguine vongole was inedie. Clams were tiny, gritty & salty. The pasta was too al dente & so salty i could not eat it. Others in my party (thr celebrants) did not complain, but this may be related to social norms. My appetizer, a unique crabcake, was good and only a little too salty. There is proscuitto or pork belly in most dishes, conforming to recent foodie trends, but leaving few options for migranuers and those sensitive to salt."

  • "Sitting atop one of the Texas Medical Center buildings amid the Methodist complex, very near both the Texas Children's and M.D. Anderson groups, this is a very special haven of fine Italian food & wine on a small, well executed menu. Surrounded by beautiful landscaping, overlooking a large outside waterfall wall that ties into a smaller, similar wall behind a very nice, modern, and larger than expected bar area. Quiet, polite, efficient, helpful staff. Very compliant on small menu requests as would be expected in the center of this medical community. The very carefully selected wine list (by the glass, half bottle, and bottle) provides excellent selection. Outstanding ambience that we appreciated at our table for 2. Remember it."

  • "We use to love Trevisio for Mother's Day! This year however they were very busy, not ready to serve all customers, the waiters were moody and not at all helpfull and the quality of food was not top notch! Didn't enjoy at all!"

  • "Party of seven attended Mother's Day Brunch on May 12, 2013. We enjoy going to brunches on Mother's day so we've had some experience with this kind of reservation. The management seemed overwhelmed to keep desserts replenished and eating utensils readily available. Went to get food, only to find there were no plates. When we informed a serving staff, there didn't seem to be any sense of urgency to get more plates. By the time a half dozen plates were brought out there were twice that many people waiting. Later when I went to get a cup of coffee, there were no coffee cups available. There didn't appear to be any leadership. Food tasted great. Won't partake of a brunch at Trevisio again."
