Trellis RestaurantGo with the patio, or get outThis was the second time I've eaten at Trellis. The first time we sat inside, and while it's nice, it wasn't anything special. Plus I was a little disappointed in their bread (foccacia-like, rather than the pugliese-type bread I prefer at Italian joints) and olive oil (there is fuzzy black crud in the bottom of their bottles). The food that first time was okay, but nothing remarkable. On the whole I didn't care for it that much.
But this second visit was totally different. It was a warm afternoon and the patio felt really nice and breezy. The olive oil and bread were still meh but I liked my entree (pork medallions and grilled risotto) much more. The waitstaff are friendly and happy to oblige. Kurt, the owner is wonderful and very accommodating, We go there quite frequently and love the al fresca dining on the roof. We have had numerous family dinners there and will do so again! There is a private room upstairs and ther is no extra charge for it's use. And since we first tried the Tiger Prawn appetizer, we always get it. Mind you, my husband isn't that fond of prawns! We like sitting on the upstairs terrace the best. there is an outdoor rooftop dining area but I did not check it out.

Our waiter was a bit scattered but made up for it by not charging us for the dessert he forgot. The polenta appetizer was to die for. The flavor so good and and the polenta so creamy.
