A word from Trellis
Trellis, part of Four Corners Tavern Group, believes that pairing unique dishes with the perfect cocktail, glass of wine, or beer is essential to the enjoyment of both. The menu at Trellis varies from pizzas, made from fresh, organic ingredients and cooked in a wood fire oven, to Oysters on the Half Shell, on special for Oyster Happy Hour from 5-6:30 during the week. Some of Chef Sarah's favorite dishes include the Fig Jam & Bacon Pizza, Scallops, and the Crab Omelette, which is featured on the Weekend Brunch menu from 10am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday.

With a sommelier as the General Manager at Trellis, the wine selection is unique and carefully selected. Trellis also employs a head mixologist to ensure the handcrafted cocktails are always in season and include the freshest ingredients and in demand premium liquors.

Diner Reviews
  • "Delicious! The menu is great, the specialty drinks are just a little adventurous without being too weird, reasonably priced. Portions are perfect. LOVE the ambience and the mechanical ceiling fans ;) Recommend: roast duck sandwich (it is pulled, not a breast), fig jam and bacon flatbread pizza, scallops appetizer"

  • "Food is great but total Bill ended up more expensive than anticipated...not unusual when you start ordering small plates. Just saying it gets pretty expensive fast."

  • "The food was great. Service was good and the food came out pretty quick. Drinks were filled quick. Definitely a great neighborhood restaurant with food quality a bit higher than the rest."

  • "The menu is wonderful! We had the some assorted cheeses, the scallops, the kale salad, and the fig, bacon and goat cheese pizza! Everything was amazing! We can't wait to go back there! Great bar as well!"

  • "A friend of mine came into town and we wanted a low key evening with good food and great wine. This is exactly what we got! The waiter was very helpful with wine selections. He was attentive by not over bearing. The food was delivered promptly. Everything was delicious. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommended!"

  • "Been here twice now, once for dinner & once for brunch. Our dinner a month ago with friends was very lovely. Our service was amazing & we ordered a lot of food to try. Everything was good, not too out of the ordinary or memorable. We went for brunch with my boyfriend's parents, the brunch menu was concise, reasonably priced & tasty. The omelet was perfect size for 1 person. Not like some place where the omelet is huge! At first when we sat down they had the music so loud at brunch we were yelling across the table. We asked them to turn it down, then it was much better. It was lollapalooza weekend, but it was 11 am & there was a cute baby at the table next to us. We will be back for the good food and because its a nice neighborhood spot!"

  • "Went on a quiet Saturday after July 4th. Awesome spot just off Fullerton but felt in the middle of a city neighborhood-enough hustle but not too much to relax for dinner. Seating was prompt, service was fantastic and the food was both creative and delicious (we had meat&cheese plate, scallops, brussel sprout salad, and fig jam&bacon pizza. Small plate sizes were perfect for two people sharing and prices were reasonable. Food, one cocktail and two glasses of wine for $100 even. Will def be back!"

  • "Had to scream to be heard at table. Asked waiter to turn down music. Said he would ask the manager. Stayed way too loud. Food completely average, nothing compelling at all."

  • "I love Trellis for any occasion, but it is especially great for a romantic date night for foodie-types. A lot of attention has been paid to the interior details - sort of a 60s mod vibe with a more current and luxurious feel. The food is super fresh with lots of unique flavors. My husband and I shared the scallops (small plate), steak tartare (small), roasted chicken (entree), and a side of green beans. Everything was wonderful, especially the scallops! We also love that Trellis has Small Town Brewery root beer on draught. Server was knowledgable and kind, and we really enjoyed our date night. We have also gone to dinner earlier in the evening with our toddler, and I was pleasantly surprised that they have a kids' menu as well!"

  • "The food at Trellis is always great. They do some very interesting options with the specials that you don't find in most other places. Appetizers are especially good with the Prosecco cheese fondue being a huge favorite of everyone we have taken with us to eat at Trellis."

  • "I loved the food both times I went (once for pizza and wine and once for brunch). The bar scene is happening and the service is really accommodating. For brunch, I went with my mom and we were seated across from each other at high tables w two parties on either side of us making it fairly hard to hear each other or enjoy each other's company because of the distance/noise level. Obviously, didn't break the experience...but notable. The food was very good - fresh ingredients and very well prepared. The decor is rustic chic with airy open windows on a hot day. Really glad Trellis has opened as there are not many wine bar/craft cocktail spots around the area. Overall great experiences here."

  • "Previously, this restaurant was more of a bar with that type of feel. However, with the re-do, they've done a great job uplifting this place. The new concept is great for the area, it fits people nicely. The food is fantastic and the service is too. Our waitress stopped and talked with us, it was great to have the personal connection. "

  • "We loved our food - very rich flavors - as well as the wine flight we purchased (cabernets)."

  • "There were 2 gluten & grain free items on the menu, one of which was the reason we chose the restaurant. Then waiter TOLD us that they had the item but weren't serving it because they were saving it for Mother's Day the next day. So my friend and I were left with one choice, a small, sad mushroom omelette with very little flavor. I told the waiter, "well, we came here for the first time today for that lobster and crab omelette specifically, and are gluten and grain free. What do you suggest we get?" He said "I can make you something with grits...." Me: "That's A GRAIN". He then told us he was sorry but had ALREADY made an exception for the day and couldn't make anymore. Bummer, considering how much brunch we eat. Won't be back."

  • "Experienced Trellis during a warmer day of Spring in Chicago, had great small plates (fondue!), salads and pulled pork sandwich. Service was solid, and awesome wine and beer list. Great Provence rose and my fave beer, La Chouffe. Well done! "

  • "the pulled pork sandwich was fabulous. Loved the dill bloody mary too! Great value/fun....not too chic/not too shabby! "

  • "It was a Friday night about 9pm. 80% of the patrons were young women. One group of 8 were very, very noisy. The waiter apologized but we will probably never return."

  • "Been dying to try Trellis and had a good dinner there last night. We split the Prosecco Fondue, Scallops and Bacon and Fig Pizza. Everything was pretty good with the exception of snacks for dipping in the fondue (the pretzels were likely frozen). It's a great space and I'd recommend stopping by here for a drink or dinner. "

  • "We were there around 10:30 for brunch on a Saturday for a a book club meeting. It was quiet enough for our purposes, and didn't get crowded until close to noon. The waiter was really nice and knowledgable, and the staff didn't get annoyed that we accidentally doubled up on booking a reservation. I recommend the french press coffee and the dill bloody mary. The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were reasonable, unlike most other brunch places where it's enough food for 3 people. Definite recommend. "

  • "one of my top choices for brunch. I'm always impressed b the service and the menu always gives me trouble trying to pick one thing out. everything I've had has been delicious and filling. I've done dinner there once, it was very good, but no need to go back for it. BRUNCH IS A NO MISS"

  • "We went for brunch for the first time and it was very good. It was nice the portions were just right and not too big. The decor and ambience were nice, our server was nice but the music was way too loud to have a conversation - it shouldn't be that loud for brunch!"
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "The service was great...or as good as you would expect it to be. The food was okay, but the tables were way TOO close together. If you tried to walk in between them you felt like your booty was in a plate of food."

  • "Met a buddy for impromptu dinner and had been wanting to try this new place for a couple of months. I knew about the chartcuttery they offered and was very very impressed. Also the wine list was impressive. Great decor, fun upbeat music and the games were on tv. Perfect mid week night."

  • "I was really disappointed with Trellis; this new venue has everything to be the best place in Lincoln park : super good food, impeccable and friendly service, fantastic lists of drinks. So I wonder why all of this has to be ruined by the TV screen and the really loud music! Given the settings, the owners went for a nice gourmet place. So why not go for it and eliminate the bad sports bar staples? I wonder... too bad..."

  • "the special menu was very good but it got a little busy in there 1/2 way through dinner and service slowed down a lot. I will be back and their brunch is the best!"

  • "Only complaint is that the pancakes are very thin and you get two, so we were hungry when we left. The food was very good though."

  • "Would recommend this place to anyone looking to go on a date night with another couple, or for girls night with a group of friends. Good food, solid crowd and awesome ambience."

  • "Very enjoyable new addition to the Lincoln Park foodie scene. The wine list is extensive and features some really lovely red wines. Also, the radicchio salad was fantastic! The only low note was the desert - white chocolate cheesecake. The cheesecake itself was a bit grainy. Overall, lovely place."

  • "Four Corners absolutely nailed it with Trellis, converting low-key pub Gaslight into a wine bar with incredible ambiance, a great menu, and beer and wine lists which don't miss a thing. It's great having this option in the neighborhood, in among the college bars and sports pubs, this change of pace is perfect for a date, a low key glass of wine, or a quick meal before a movie at Webster. And with an adult crowd, it's a place you can have a conversation with your group in a great environment"

  • "My boyfriend and I recently grabbed a late Sunday brunch at Trellis last week. We were blown away by the unique brunch menu and bottomless mimosa deal for $14. We ordered the chorizo and grits and a pizza. Both were absolutely delicious. Our waiter was attentive and prompt on our mimosa refills. It was refreshing to go to brunch and be presented with a menu with items you cannot cook at home. We have already discussed going back to Trellis as soon as possible."

  • "Since Trellis opened about 10 weeks ago, I have been there for dinner 3 times, drinks/apps once, and as of today, brunch. My only complaints are that the place tends to get a bit loud, and that I wish they'd train their 20somethings waitstaff not to address a couple in their 50s as "you guys." (This complaint, unfortunately, applies to far too many upscale eateries these days.) The cuisine at Trellis is inventive and delicious, and the service is generally attentive and knowledgeable without being obtrusive. Prices are reasonable for the neighborhood. I look forward to introducing more friends to Trellis."

  • "First visit here, very comfortable ambience as the place is not huge but the management didn't try to pack as many tables as they could (unlike many restaurants this size in the city). It has a classy feel, without being stuffy. Service was very prompt, extremely friendly and you could tell our server Georges had plenty of experience and knew what he was doing. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and wasn't shy about making recommendations based on our dining style, as we chose to do more small plates and charcuterie/cheese to experience more of the menu that night. Wine list is thoughtfully done and the prices are pocket friendly. The craft beer list is very good as well. Food was amazing! We can't wait to be back. Excellent value!"

  • "It was strange to see what was once always so packed be dead. The odd front bar area was empty and needs to be ripped out. Food was fantastic but it seems that the new atmosphere has lost all that we loved about gaslight."
