Diner Reviews
  • "Food is great and well priced for what you get. Our favorite is the NY strip steak. So good."

  • "Food was quite average. My husband tried the steak, I tried the kobe ravioli. It was good enough i suppose, just nothing I'd consider going back for. I would have rather paid a little more and gone to a place with better food."

  • "The restaurant looks a little different than how I imagined it would be laid out given the pictures, but it looks/feels boudoir-y and romantic and sexy. We ordered the mac n'cheese appetizer which was phenomenally tasty! We also ordered the filet mignon (awesome - good size filet and flavorful, but could have used a tinge more salt to bring out the flavor) and the duck/mushroom pasta (delicious). Having filled up on the mac n'cheese, we ended up splitting the filet and bringing most of the pasta home with us. While the meal prices are beyond reasonable for NYC, the wine prices were higher than I imagined (cheapest bottle was $40 - not recommended by server, so we got the next-up $52 alternative). Next time I'll do wine by the glass."

  • "Saw this place on JB Smoove 4 Courses. Well worth the trip. Went with a party of 7 and everyone loved the place and the food. Great Steaks and appetizers."

  • "My parents and I were in New York for a week recently celebrating my Fathers 60th Birthday and we chose to visit Tre Dici Steakhouse after seeing their positive reviews on Tripadvisor. We were very impressed by the restaurant which is very smartly designed and a hidden gem on the second floor next to the Tre Dici restaurant on the ground floor next door. The service was very good, our waiter knew the menu very well and made some good recommendations for us particularly for the wine. I had the Mac and Cheese for starter which was very tasty but the best thing about the meal was the NY strip steak that my Father and I both had for main, it was a beautifully cooked steak and possibly the best steak I have ever had. Highly recommended."

  • "Great food, great service, cool atmosphere, for sure the highlight of our trip to NY. They have some very unique signature dishes that I had not encountered elsewhere and everything we tried was awesome."

  • "Have been to Tredici Steak a number of times and I keep going back. The food is very good and whether with a group or on a date, the ambiance is relaxing and friendly. I went for the first time recently with my girlfriend as I find it to be a great date spot. Kind of hidden away on a 2nd floor off of 27th street, between 6th & 7th Avenues, it is well suited for a romantic evening, as well as, a nice venue for a small group gathering. The service is friendly and the food is worth the trip. The wine list isn't extensive, but is good, with a leaning toward Italian reds. Whether for pasta or a nice steak, Tredici will not disappoint."

  • "Excellent food and service. Decor was a bit odd with red curtains and limited lighting. Also, it was not clear there were two separate Tredici restaurants, an Italian restaurant downstairs and the steak house upstairs using a separate entrance."

  • "Chance open table find. Went out on a whim to this quaint upstairs dining experience. Friendly and informed server, good wine three different entries all excellent. Try the Brussels sprout bacon side."

  • "Our waitress wasn't very nice... The hostess was much nicer!!the best thing on the menu was the Mac and cheese. The rest of the good presentation was sloppy and unappetizing."

  • "Had dinner with the wife and some friends on Monday and everything was perfect. The service, food, drinks, wine... everything! The lobster mac'n cheese is to die for. It's a great way to start the week... specially after a hard winter weather week!"

  • "We dined at TreDici Steak and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service was extremely attentive. The steak was amazing and so were the appetizers and dessert. The atmosphere is unlike any other place we've been to in the city. Will definitely go back again!"

  • "My wife and I decided to go here for dinner on valentines day. The meal and service were excellent. The only negative aspect to the meal was the ambiance (which on Valentines can mean alot). The dining room is lovely, but our table seemed to be a recent addition. A row of tables with a bench on one side and chairs on the other, sound familiar? Now tack one table on the end closest the entrance, and that's where we were, a chair opposite a chair, meant to imitate the existing set up. Only it didn't fit, the chairs couldn't be moved (without moving the table), and we were bumped several times by people moving through the dining room (including staff). Overall I'd gladly eat here again, but I will probably pick a different table."

  • "Dining here was a random decision for us and we were both happily surprised. The food, service and prices are great. I liked the dim lighting and dark decor. It was perfect for us to celebrate valentines day a little early."

  • "We got there a little bit late, around 10:15pm. Thay told us the kitchen closed at 10:45 and the restaurant at 11pm. We decided toneat there anyway. Food was really good. Inhad the salmon with griññed asparagus. The others had the fillet mignon, rib eye, chilenean Sea bass and grilled steak . Everything was exquisite!!! We asled for a Dolcetto bottle wich was fine. After dinner we had a drink but they were regular and they gave us a the reciept wich we thought was a little bit rude. And tip was already included (I don't like that) 20%. overall food was so good that we would definitly go back again a little bit early. they shouldnt take reservations at 10pm if they close at 11pm. Or let you know a least before you go there."

  • "Hidden on the 2nd floor behind a plain black door. But, once inside you will find a very good Italian food joint. Great location for us to walk to from our Hotel. We raved about the place the rest of the weekend to our friends!"

  • "Food was delicious. I had the pear salad and the hanger steak. My friend had the warm kale salad and the sea bass. Service was excellent. The place was nice and interestingly hidden. The seats were a bit uncomfortable and low."

  • "Restaurant was very different. Decor was very cool. Service was wonderful. We were not rushed and they were not hovering. The food was delicious. I had the stracci. Very very good. Would definitely go back."

  • "First time at this restaurant and was extremely pleased, we sat upstairs and it felt like we had the place to ourselves, service was attentive without being overbearing, The food was outstanding and the dark ambiance was exactly want we were looking for. Will definitely return. Overall, the experience, food and service was outstanding"

  • "As a veteran of most of NY's great steak houses, I was impressed by the overall quality of my meal and believe that Tredici holds it's own with any of them and at a lower price point in a unique setting. Highly recommended."

  • "A review we read said this place was a hidden gem, tucked away on the 2nd floor. So true! Jacob's service was professional and friendly, yet not overbearing. Our meals were perfectly prepared. And, they honored my advance request on Open Table for a quiet table not elbow-to-elbow with other diners."

  • "The service was great & on too. I got the NY strip & the breadcrumbs & garlic topping have my steak an amazing taste. The potatoes were very good! My boyfriend got the filet mignon.. I thought my MY strip was better but his was still good. Great little romantic spot & nice inside."

  • "The service was great and the food was great. I wish it wasn't the holiday season because there was a really noisy group so I am not sure if the place was energetic because of the everyone was trying to talk over the group because they were talking so loud or if it is just generally loud."

  • "The food was ok, the waiter Zack was too sassy. I asked if they could bring a bday candle n the dessert as a surprise they literally put a candle in there not a small bday candle. It was 3 other peoples bday n they all got sang to except for our table. i would not return here, its a pretty looking restaurant but thats it. If the waiter would have granted better service, i would return."

  • "We have eaten downstairs before, but our first visit up stairs. Cannot say enough about how much we loved cocktails in the warm cozy bar, the excellent service, and the excellent meal. Loved the mac and cheese, and the veal chops were outstanding (just as they are downstairs)."

  • "I took my boyfriend to Tredici for his brithday as a surprise and we not only loved it it is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC.... The service was incredible, I orginally made resevations for Tredici steak which is the more romantic scene on the 2nd floor but it was shut down for a holiday party. Not only did the manager call me but he promised me the best seat in the house and after waiting less then 5 mins we were seated at the best table. This place is really a hidden Gem and we are going back many times!!"

  • "I just need to let you know how delightful my waiter Zac was. He was knowledgeable of all the food and made some great suggestions. All in he made the experience great"

  • "We loved the ambience and food was excellent. Loved the Speakeasy vibe, and the small quaint restaurant. I was loving this place until during our dessert and group of 20 came in - about 10 adults and 10 kids. The kids were all under 11 or 12 and very loud. This really ruined the ambience of the place and I could see other patrons felt the same. I would never bring loud children in to a restaurant of this kind. I have a 3 year old and wanted a nice peaceful setting. I was surprised management let them in. Just isn't the right place for many loud children. Otherwise before that everything was great!"
