  • "went wth a group of five for a birthday dinner - staff very accommadating both in table size, timing, answering questions and other requests. wine is very reasonable priced - with lots of choices in red, white rose and sparkling. food terrific, salads. pastas mains and desserts. standouts were the marinated carrots, the meatballs, the medeteranian salad, and the ravioli."

  • "I came here with a friend that was visiting from out of town and we had a nice time. The ambiance is very average for a Manhattan restaurant... nothing memorable. The service was very attentive and friendly. She ordered seafood stew which had nice flavor but was SOOO hot she couldn't eat it for 15 minutes. I ordered the Italian sausage which was good, but a little dry. There was gray to help, but the meat itself wasn't very juicy. We have the meatballs for an appetizer and really enjoyed those. I definitely recommend that dish to start."

  • "Tre was a pleasant surprise. I booked the reservation about two hours in advance for a "perfect weather" Saturday night and expected to have to wait for something late. We didn't have to wait for our table at all and the service was prompt. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Bar isn't the best for people looking for something quiet or intimate, but the restaurant does have that vibe overall because of it's small size. You sit pretty close to your neighbors so expect to smell/see their food choices. Generous glasses of wine- no complaints there! I'd definitely go back and recommend to friends in the area."

  • "This AYCD brunch was one of the better ones I've had in terms of service. Drinks were regularly topped off (leaving you to forget how many you actually had). Food was yum, but nothing exceptional -- I've had more amazing burgers. All in all good experience and would definitely go back."

  • "The seafood pasta is delicious! I highly recommend the seafood pasta. The pork special of the day (pork loin stuffed with mushrooms) was mediocre, as was the sangria. The beer selection is limited. The wine selection is broad. They have great happy hour prices if you go between five and seven (on Friday and Saturday) or between five and eight any other night of the week. They'll give you happy hour prices at table, too, and not just at the bar (or at least our server did). Great atmosphere. Classy but not snobby. Pleasantly hipster (we got our beer and sangria in mason jars). Attentive and friendly waitstaff. A nice romantic night out for young people like my fiance and myself who can't afford a $100 meal."

  • "My boyfriend and I came here on a Friday night at 7pm. The hostess was friendly and sat us right away. The tables were a bit close to each other as we were very close to the couple seated next to us. But other than that, the ambience was perfect: lights dim with a candle on each table. We ordered the polpetti to start. The little meatballs were moist and the sauce that they came in was a good mix of light but full of flavor. I had the fettuccine al funghi. The portion was a generous size and the taste was perfect with a hint of truffle oil. He ordered the lasagna which was also a good portion. The sauce was rich and meaty and made the hearty dish everything he had hoped for. Overall, it was a great meal and the service was excellent."

  • "service was pretty bad considering they only have 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. our glasses were empty half the time we were there and we had to constantly flag them down to fill it up. we prolly had about 4 rounds of mimosas before we were asked to leave. yes, we were asked to leave because they needed our table. I looked at the time, it was 1:35 and i got here at 12:35. I looked behind me, they did not ask that table behind me to leave. why is that? is it because they have a bigger group? are we being too quiet? for $180, i expected better service and food. my fusilla was so bland that I ate only 2 bites and left the rest. when we got up to leave, the table behind us were still sitting and not asked to leave. i will not be back."

  • "My only issue with this experience was the service. I informed the waiter while ordering appetizers "I don't eat cheese" "What do you recommend with no cheese for a starter"? well, my main course came out a while later with cheese on it. I figured since the menu did not say anything about the cheese and the waiter knew about my request, everything will be alright. Well, lets just say I got a lot of attitude for not telling him again about the no cheese. I was told "All pasta comes out with cheese on it" and I should have told him again. Besides the service, the restaurant is great!"

  • "Nice menu variety w/ some interesting selections. Food good if not inspired (some in our party loved their dishes). Prices comparatively reasonable. No music playing in the garden, & even when full with diners, noise level was low enough that we could converse easily--a very big plus. But the "garden" is really just a roofed backyard w/ checkered oil cloths (and ours had cigarette burns); inside looked nicer. Staff is very, very nice, no attitude; if not super professional, they did accommodate all our requests. Making the yard charming (plants, candles, etc.) could improve the overall impression greatly. As it is, Tre fills a niche; I'd return if I needed a moderately-priced, quieter, casual place w/ decent food in this neighborhood."

  • "Booked this place because the menu intrigued. And the food was fabulous. Unfortunately, it was so loud and overcrowded that we could not enjoy the meal. Even before the bar crowd shuffled in, the closely packed tables and loud clientele (are today's young people unable to modulate their voices because of all the headphone wearing?) was pointing to an uncomfortable evening. I will go back in the spring when their garden opens, maybe it will be less loud. The food is worth another shot. The service was also amazing."

  • "Their weekend brunch deal is fantastic! The website says 90 minute limit on drinks, but they're not chasing you out the door. The waitress kept my mimosa glass constantly filled, which is a HUGE plus and not all that typical of bottomless brunches. We got potato pancakes for the table to share. They were delicious. I had the penne carbonara for my main. Again, delicious. By the time we left we were all perfectly buzzed and happily stuffed."

  • "Came to Tre on Valentine's Day and had a delicious dinner. They seated us promptly at a nice two-top near the back, but it was clear from the moment we arrived that they had squeezed in a few extra tables for the special occasion. As expected, service was a little slower than usual and all in all it took about two hours to get our dinner. Sad to put a damper on what was otherwise a great meal! The arancini and pear and endive salad were a lovely start. Then the waiting began. We ended up waiting so long between our first course and second that our sweet waitress offered us a round on the house. Finally our entrees came: meatballs for him, mushrooms for me. Both were wonderful! All that said, will we be back? Absolutely."

  • "I came here for a date on a Friday night and it was wonderful. Everything from speaking to the man on the phone that I confirmed my reservation (I had a few special requests as I was celebrating with my date) with was pleasant. The young woman behind the bar was especially wonderful and will be the main reason I keep come back. The seating is very tight, which is some cases is a major detraction for me, but it didn't distract me here because it was such a lovely time. You have to really respect a cool place with delicious food and a staff that seems to enjoy working there. Thank you Tre!"

  • "A nice addition to LES dining. A small pretty little place with the best fired artichokes I have ever eaten. All of the small bites were fantastic. The many pasta dishes we sampled were also great and can all be made with a whole wheat or gluten free option. The wine list is moderately priced and interesting. In nice weather there is a garden in back. We will definitely return."
