A word from Tre Dici
"Chelsea's best kept secret..."

An unexpected find on a busy Chelsea block, this bi-level gem offers killer Italian fare with seasonal ingenuity in a modern and attractive space overseen by a spot on staff. And the upstairs, speakeasy/bordello-like quarters serves up impressive red meats and pastas in an atmosphere rivaling that of the 1930's. Either way, a sexy vibe and genial staff make either floor a perfect date pick. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "I love the food at Tre Dici - I have brought customers there many times and sent out of town colleagues as well. I must say that the young men who are now serving are much more pleasant than the young women who were there before. They are friendly and attentive. The tuna tartare is the BEST and the Chilean Sea Bass was amazing. The crepe cake is amazing - suggest the chef have a great caramel on sauce on top! I will look forward to my next visit. "

  • "A wonderful dining experience that will leave you satisfied and ready to make your next reservation. The food is terrific and the nightly specials are wonderful. Highly recommend the dessert martinis, especially the S'mores martini"

  • "Noise level is based on screaming infant that dined in the restuarant at 10:45pm at night.. go figure... this would have been perfect except for the toddler and screaming child that changed the vibe immediately."

  • "This restaurant is a find! My salmon dish was fantastic and my husband raved about his shrimp scampi. Both were prepared in an unusual and extraordinary way. Don't miss the dessert martinis. I had the cookies and cream one and it was fabulous."

  • "Tre Dicii is small and intimate, with fun, contemporary ambience. The menu selections are creative and interesting, and the food is delicious. The seafood was very fresh, and the shrimp scampi had a generous six plump shrimp. The striped bass special was wonderful. The wine list is limited and unexciting, but adequate. The gavi was quite nice with the fish. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall good value for the money, and a very enjoyable evening."

  • "I met my mother here for lunch and we had the most lovely time ! The menu had a lot to choose from and we both loved our choices. The staff created a very nice calm vibe for lunch and there was no pressure to leave when we were finished. We had a lot to talk about ! I will look forward to going back again!"

  • "The Kobe beef ravioli is great, as is the pear salad. Also enjoyed the bread and the butter provided."

  • "It's a very cozy and comfortable space. While I thought it was noisy at first, in fact I didn't have any trouble conversing with my fellow diners. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly liked everything about this restaurant except for one thing. The lighting that comes from the kitchen spills out into the low light of the restaurant in a distracting way. If they could figure out some way to block that light, it would up the ambience quotient significantly."

  • "My 1st visit. This is a little jewel. Very N2c decor, greys, blacks, calming, urban. Just perfect, intimate. Katie was our server supreme! The drink I ordered didn't match my expectation & she switched it out in a blink. Water glass refilled often. Bread basket is their secret weapon! OMG! Out of control little cheese balls & other bread treats PLUS Fresh butter too. How do U spell spoil me? Varied menu makes it easy 2 please many palettes. My kale salad was enough for 2 & wonderful as was my branzino fish, delicious. My friend's baked pasta was too salty 4 me but she loved it. Very big portion. Wonderful house red wine. Great cappuccino. Very fairly priced. Service supreme. Katie's great! Can't wait 2 bring more friends back to Tre Dici."

  • "Had good meal here but evening somewhat marred by fact that most of the restaurant taken up by very noisy birthday party. If restaurants are going to allocate more than 50% of the space to one group they should warn fellow diners when they book."

  • "The kale salad was unique and delicious and we found all entrees were top notch. Especially like the small intimate atmosphere and great service"

  • "Charming inside, with candles and dim lighting. Very romantic setting. The sea bass dish was heavenly, as was the wine list."

  • "Top notch service, selection, preperation, presentation in both food and drink and it has an atmostphere with character. In a more noticable location, this place would have a line to get in every night."

  • "My husband and I used to go to this restaurant all the time then we moved and forgot about it. We decided to try it again and loved it as much as we always had! We have been back twice in the past two weeks. The service is amazing, as is the food and all the people that work there. The manager Michael is such a great guy! Always greets everyone at the door and is always helping the staff, taking orders, serving dishes and drinks. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Keep up the great work!"

  • "The food was delicious we had black pasta and the sea bass with brussel sprouts... It was really good food... Small portions... Caramel apple martini was amazing. The waitress seemed a little in over her head as she wasn't really paying 100% attention to our table and what I asked for at times... But besides that my experience was great!"

  • "I just had my birthday dinner there with a group of 6 people. I had never been there and was not sure what to expect. We were ALL pleasantly surprised with how fantastic the food was! Really great night!"

  • "The food was execellent. It was well prepared and well served, and we will return."

  • "OK, it was a bit bordello like upstairs, with heavy red curtains, brocade wall paper and red velvet lamps. But it was a warm inviting space. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was a bit hard to find though. They have a downstairs restaurant with the same menu. Upstairs is totally unmarked and the menu has some additional steak entrees."

  • "I went here Saturday after V-Day with my girlfriend and it lived up to my expectations derived from existing reviews. Started off with angry lobster which was delicious, but you probably don't want to order this if it's your first date with somebody (can get pretty messy). I had the Kobe beef ravioli while my girlfriend had the crab pasta. Both of our dishes were delicious, although portions were on the small side. I would definitely recommend this. Quality matches price."

  • "We liked this place so much we decided to come back for Valentine's Day. The food, the service and the ambiance were incredible. We had a New York Strip with creamy spinach and Brussels sprouts. The steak was perfect and I loved the crumbled cheese topping. The Brussel sprouts were shredded with bacon and they were delicious. The best part of the evening was the server Joey, who made our night exceptional. He was friendly, happy and very patient. I would ask for him again. We also got the best table in the place. It's in the corner and it is tucked behind some curtains. Very cozy and intimate!"

  • "Everytime I'm back in NYC, I try to make it to TreDici. I'm always greeted with a warm welcome. This place was a neighborhood gem for the 5 years I lived in NYC, just a few blocks from my apartment. The food is fantastic, the service impeccable and the ambiance wonderful. Everyone I ever take to Tre Dici just LOVES it..."

  • "We picked Tre Dici based on the Zagat rating and the location. The restaurant did not disappoint. Most importantly, the food was very good, from the appetizers tthru desert. Service was very professional, but prompt and friendly. The ambiance was quite nice and the noise level low. We would certainly recommend and return to Tre Dici."

  • "We attended the Rachel Ray show and were looking for a nice place for lunch afterwards. Tre Dici wasa quaint little restaurant with a sophisticated flair. I had the butter nut squash ravioli - delicious!!! The other menu items were quite diverse and not the standard Italian fare. If you are looking for something nice in the Chelsea district give this place a try. Service was also A+. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food."

  • "A great restaurant all round. The food and service was excellent. Even our kids loved the food and Shirley Temple drinks so that's a bonus in itself. We especially recommend the pasta with duck and mushroom it was out of this world delish. Loved the experience as it was a New Years Eve treat for us but I am sure it is fabulous any night!"

  • "I have eaten at Tre Dici twice for office luncheons. Everything about the restaurant is superb, from the ambience to the staff to the food. I finally dined at the restaurant for dinner shortly after Christmas and we were allowed to order off of the upstairs (Tre Dici Steakhouse) menu for our main courses which you are not able to do at lunch because the Steakhouse is only open for dinner. The parmesan encrusted NY Strip was simply amazing! For the appetizer, I have chosen the mac & cheese for my appetizer every visit as it is to die for (and the poached lobster tail on top is a welcome treat too)! Although the restaurant is small, they do not overcrowd the tables as some other restaurants of their size do. A dining gem in NYC for sure!"

  • "Good food. Liked the pear salad and salmon was tasty. Came here with our 2 yr old and they were very accommodative even though its not a kids place."

  • "This restaurant is a great find. It has an upstairs entrance with a very plain door that looks like a speakeasy entrance. The steaks are great as well as the sides and salads. Relatively small and cozy. The service is very good. I've been there 3 times and each time was equally good."

  • "On a cold night in December, Tre Dici on the second floor will make you feel warm all over. If that's not enough to make you feel cozy, order the warm kale salad to start. In my mind, the gorgonzola and bacon are more than offset by the the nutritional value of the kale. Then, try the stracci or the pappardelle with duck. Beautiful, rich flavors in the sauces combined with lovely fresh pasta. If you are in the mood for red meat, the hangar steak is a winner -- great flavor that is only enhanced by the frites with a a hint of foie gras. Delicious. If you happen to still have room for dessert, the panna cotta is a winner. Oh, and a decent wine list will complement whatever you choose."
