  • "Very high expectations going into the restaurant. The menu online looked awesome. We ordered the calamari deep fried with zucchini and apples. The dish came, no zucchini or apples. The 'spicy' marinara had zero kick. This coming from a girl who can't handle medium spice. I also ordered the arugula salad with lemon truffle oil and NY Strip steak. I make more flavorful steak and salad at home. Very disappointing. My date ordered the entree menu scallops, which he said were delicious. For dessert, the panacotta, TO DIE FOR!. Would go just for that. Server was fantastic! She was well educated on the wines. Overall, nice, but with so many other GR restaurants to choose from I won't go back."

It was sent back, and "spiced up". It turned out to be another great meal. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great pasta dish, and service."

She did a great job getting us out on time, without rushing us at all. She was very personable and helpful with the food and wine choices. My husband and I were blown away on our most recent visit by the cheese plate (TAGLIERE DI FORMAGGI) and the gorgonzola pear salad (INSALATA DI RUCOLA E PERE COTTE), and as usual, our entrees were top-notch!"

Service was impeccable and our table looked out over the skating rink at Rosa Park Circle with all of the twinkling of lights. Easy parking at the Ellis lot just 5 steps from restaurant's front door. We have many choices for dining in Grand Rapids. This was our first visit to Tre Cujini, but it won't be our last. They created a memorable dining experience for us."

  • "I enjoyed my first visit here, along with my wife. Nice restaurant, good menu and vast wine list (though I didn't order any, nor do I typically order wine when dining out). Beer selection was ok, though not expansive. The food and service were both excellent, though I felt it was a bit pricey. It's a nice location right across from Rosa Parks Circle and the art museum. Had I not snagged a parking spot on the street a block up Monroe Avenue the parking situation might have been a bit of a negative, not sure where the nearest parking ramp was and it would have cost...the meters turn off after 6 pm on all days and aren't on at all on Sundays."

Friendly staff but service was SLOOOOOW...took forever between courses. But we had a window seat and could watch the ice skaters across the street which was cool. Overall wasn't a terrible experience or anything, just not sure I'd go back for the $$$..."

  • "My husband and I recently dined at Tre Cugini while visiting GR for a weekend getaway. As soon as you walk in the door it is as if you are transported to a cafe in Little Italy. The space is warm and inviting. The food and service were outstanding. Have a song in mind..there is an accordion player who walks around playing music while you dine. He takes requests! Very romantic!"

  • "Our server was super! Our pasta was not quite as good. A little on the chewy side in the Spaghetti with clams in white wine sauce. I'm not sure there was a sauce. The clams were good though. Penne with salmon and asgaragus was delicious, again with the chewy pasta. The staff did make our special occasion extra special, with the word "congratulations" written in chocolate on our dessert plate. That was totally unexpected! We like the location - easy to get to and to park. Will we go back? Unsure at this time."

  • "It was supposed to be a special night out with friends who came to Grand Rapids from out of town. It was a disaster! The first three things that we wanted to order (Gnocchi and then two kinds of noodles) they were out of. In the middle of our meal, I received a phone call from the hostess asking if we were going to keep our reservation...she seated us after I told her who we were and what time our reservation was. Our bill still came to 90.00 after using our two plate coupon found in GR magazine. We each only had one glass of wine."

  • "After having great service and being impressed from my first visit almost a year ago, I decided to take my fiancé here for her birthday dinner. In comparison to my last visit it was significantly worse. The food was not that good, and I had to chose a different dish because the first 2 I wanted were not available anymore. My fiancé had never been here and said the food was good but not for the price, she felt they are trying to be a better restaurant than they really are. Overall, I know Tre Cugini has the ability to do better but they aren't there anymore. I am not sure what had changed in the past year (owner, chef, manager) but it is declining. I would recommend Ruth's Chris, Bistro, or Chop House before going here, I'll be staying away."

  • "Top notch service, waitress was attentive and pleasant. Even with the restaurant starting to fill up, the noise level was not disruptive to conversation at all. Dinner was a 9 out of 10. The only criticism I had was that the vegetable had started to cool off before the rest of the dish. Not something I'd consider a terrible negative. They have a very nice wine list. Highly recommend the Trivento Malbec Golden Reserve if you choose the sirloin."

The food is always outstanding and our visiting family members from Minneapolis was impressed with the excellent menu choices and the memorable taste treats. Christine, our wonderful personable waitress just added to the dining pleasures. Yes, it was a very special treat."

  • "Usually a favorite of ours, Tre Cugini was average at best. Pastas were served barely warm suggesting that they had been sitting there while the other orders for our table were being prepared. Rack of Lamb is usually outstanding here. Tonight it was tough and somewhat dry even though it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The restaurant was crowded but had always delivered a "WOW" factor on previous visits. Tonight it just wasn't the case."
