Having been twice now to Tray Kitchen and recommending it highly to others I was shocked when we arrived on Friday only to learn that the next night was going to be its last! The chef/owner is closing to focus on his other two restaurants. SO SAD!! I loved the concept and the food of the restaurant from the get go so will be sad to see it go. The staff member I spoke to said a Valencian styled, paella place would be coming in instead. We will see.

Food was just ok. Duck confit and brussel sprout are the better dishes. Most has a Korean flavor to them and after eating here I felt I'd get more for less at a Korean restaurant. Arrived to half empty restaurant with reservations but was asked to wait by the bar for 15 minutes anyway. Food came quickly but didn't get much service after that.

The menu is short but good selections supplemented by "trays" of interesting off-menu items. The tables have a slot for stashing the menu - great idea if you like to go back to the menu and look up an item during the meal. Satisfying and modern.

We had dinner at Tray on the Dine Around promotion, so we had a limited menu and didn't try any of the trays that went around. That said, everything we had was so good, and everything we saw on trays looked great. If you ate there, ordering from trays, things might get pricey, but you'd be happy.

Went to Tray for the third time, this time with my brother, who is not fond of Korean food. He loved it! Great flavors, great presentation, great service, interesting mix of menu and rotating dishes. Total winner. And if you don't like it, Frelard pizza next door rocks too!

Start with any of their craft cocktails and you'll be off to a good start. Portion sizes are kind of small but staff is good at suggesting quantities appropriate for number of diners. Fresh Burrata was great!! Korean Fried Chicken (and accompanying kimchI) was tasty and worked well with our group. For large groups (we had 8), it would be nice to have one or two larger rice or noodle dishes. If you have any dietary restrictions, be very specific with your requirements and the staff/kitchen will work with you.
