The apps. were delicious. One of their specials was my favorite, the veal stuffed meatball. Very light and delicious. Probably the best we have ever eaten. Calamari was very light also. Some salads excellent. I shared the yellow tail Snapper with a livernois sauce, and our friends shared a Snapper Oreganata. Both were exccellent. We had a wonderful table and our waiter Bobby, could not do enough for us. When we 1st sat down he brought Bruchetta, with fresh tomatoes, and some wonderful breads in a basket..He then explained in detail the dishes that we were interested in trying, and was very patient. I ordered Bronzini Livornese & it was excellent. Just the right amount of Tomatoes, olives, capers and fresh garlic buds. My hubby had the special of linguini with Shrimp, Clams & Crab. and his sister had the same but with a whole wheat pasta. They both loved theirs. We did not have enough room for desert, but they sounded wonderful. My guests have been delighted with the menu, the wine list and the quality of the food. The congenial, timely service helps to make each visit special. Every guest has enthusiastically said that they look forward to their next visit and has complimented my choice.
Recently, I had to let the restaurant know on a weekend night that I would be late for my reservation...and additionally, that I would be adding two people to my party. This news was graciously accepted and our table was waiting for us when we arrived.

Bartenders Joey and Christina are spot on and you'll enjoy the service. The nightly specials are incredible and no special request is ignored. All of the servers are true professionals and know the menu inside and out. The wine list is extensive with unique selections. We have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. The true mark of a great restaurant is consistency. He was also very knowledgeable and helpful. That was a big plus. Although I did not order the most challenging dishes, the food was really excellent. We started with a fantastic meatball that the three of us shared. I had a puttanesca that was among the best ever - I often don't order this simply because so many places don't get it right - or at least the way I like it. The other two people we were with also liked what they got, but I really didn't pay that much attention to them. On the negative side was the noise level and the wait beyond our reservation time. Had to make reservations 3 weeks in advance so you know this place is good. Atmosphere is small and intimate, very far away from a chain type restaurant experience. I loved the brushetta complimentary appetizer & bread basket. The tomatoes were amazing. The specials are extensive so don't be afraid to ask your server to repeat. Had the lobster special on spinach, was exquisite. The desserts left a little to be desired. Cannoli nothing outstanding, nor was the coconut sorbet. The lemon sorbet was very good. If you have the appetite, order the mammoth strawberry shortcake (big enough for 2-3 people) which appears to be the signature dessert. It looked lovely. Coming from New York we tend to think the food is only great in New York. (Or Italy) Well we went to Tratoria Romano for the first time. All I can say is it stood up to all of them. The meatball appetizer, the gnocchi and the veal chop were amazing.We shared desserts which melted in our mouths.The wine list was fabulous. They stocked our favorite Amarone.
