  • "Glad we got a coupon... Not the best place I've ever been - food was expensive... without the coupon would have been $95 for pasta, a single glass of wine (shared), an appetizer, salad and the meal... all that said, it tasted wonderful... needs updating IMO to be able to charge those prices."

  • "The waiters that waited on our tables were not good at all. There was a woman that came to our table to bring water and to refill our glass and she never made any eye contact or say hi. Our main waiter also came to our table once in a blue moon and we noticed that he waited on the table right next to us that had two women and he made alot of small talk with them and also showed more care and compassion to their needs then ours. We truthfully had to flag him down to put in our food order as well as for our checks. Didn't expect that experience and quite frankly I was disappointed on an evening like that for my girlfriend and I on Valentines day. Will not go back there again."

  • "Sunday night, six o'clock. Table for six. Restaurant was quite busy, service was superb. Diyana continues to excel, and Jan at the front podium was on top of his game as well. Food was served on a timely basis, and a busy kitchen hit all its marks. Thanks again, TR!"

  • "We have been going to Trattoria Roma since it had been on Morse Road years ago when it was owned by Mr. Diapolo. The story was he didn't particularly like local Italian restaurants so he sent a chef to his home town in Italy and set up the restaurant after he learned all his favorite recipes. Since we have been going so long (25 years now) we have seen the food only improve. The latest chef/owner Matt is one of the best and Shawn, the other owner, runs the front room with style and a friendly grace. He took over from his dad that was the Maitre'd there years ago. We always feel welcomed like family and have never had a bad meal there. Wine selection is outstanding. The desserts are great too. The staff is knowledgable, friendly and helpful"

  • "Sean and Matt continue to excel. A wonderful meal, with fresh ingredients, including the special recipe Jewel Evans bread. Served by Diyana, who is a true professional. Topped off with fabulous desserts and Stauf's coffee. Thank you Trattoria Roma!"

  • "On the dining side of the restaurant (there is a small bar separated from the dining room), there is no competing music or other background noise; so, it's a perfect place for having conversation and simply enjoying a great meal. The lighting is appropriately set, so reading a menu and seeing the food when it arrives are easily done. After years of dining there, the restaurant is considerably above average with consistently good food and service! As I think about the experience, I appreciated the atmosphere as much as I did the food; so, I strongly recommend it for an all-around great dining experience."

  • "I have lived in Grandview for years and can't believe I have never been here before, but my husband is a Celiac so I figured they would not have much on the menu for gluten free folks. I checked out their menu online and I was so wrong! They now have gluten free pasta and will basically make any (with a few exceptions) on the menu gluten free by request. I had the shrimp diavalo and it was delicious, and my husband enjoyed gluten free pasta with clams. They noted his food allergy on our order to ensure that he would receive a gluten free meal which is always appreciated."

  • "We enjoyed Trattoria Roma very much this time. The food was good, not great, but good. Our server was excellent. The noise level was not a problem and for the four of us over 65, that was a plus. I have to say it was a very slow night there, but it was nice to be able to hear our conversation."

  • "We went in for New Years dinner with some apprehensions based on the mixed results of other reviews. Should have stayed away as the food was edible but not great! Anti pasta was piled on a medium plate without any presentation. Salads were good. Found it very strange that their meat plates were really all pasta plates with some meat. If your an italian food junkie then this is not the place for you! You can get the same ho-hum food at any italian chain."

  • "Trattoria Roma is definitely a cozy, romantic restaurant. It is dimly lit and the ambience is relaxing. It is a good spot for a romantic evening or a special occasion. Definitely a more expensive dinner option than other places."

  • "Very comfortably decorated restaurant with very good service. Food is average Italian. Several of us had spaghetti arrabiata which was OK but bland. The sauce looked and tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. Similarly, Caesar salad was OK but dressing was bland and salad had excess shredded cheese. We'd go there again but it's not a favorite."

  • "I must say that I was pretty disappointed with this restaurant during our recent visit. It took almost 2 hours to complete our lunch. The waitress was nice, but the food came out slow. It took 30 minutes to get bread for pete's sake! The salads came out after 45 minutes and the food was served at almost an hour and a half later and luke warm for that matter. Brutal! Needless to say, I will never be back."

  • "Trattoria Roma does a great job. Service is always outstanding, the atmosphere quiet and friendly. The food is always prepared well but for one thing, they tend to over sauce. When we order any pasta dish we always ask the waiter to have the chef back off on the sauce. And he or she does and its wonderful. This time we didn't do that because we had gotten the special, fish with a risotto, and the scallops with faro. It never occurred to us to for these dishes. But again, the food was nearly swimming. The sauces are always good but they should accent not over power. This is not unique to Trattoria Roma. Most Italian restaurants in the US tend to do this. So go, eat good food, just remember to ask the waiter to reduce the sauce on everything."

  • "I had the spciy chicken gluten free pasta and was very pleased with the texture, it tasted like regular wheat pasta! Just enough spice too for a nice kick. However, they do not list on the menu the up charge for gluten free, nor did they mention it when I asked....when the bill came that was an unpleasant surprise. The bread before the meal was just mediocre (according to my finance). It looked very soggy and limp. Another table's did look nice and crisp though, so I think we were given an old batch."

  • "We recently moved to town from Chicago, where great Italian food is on every corner. Trattoria Roma can stand with the best of 'em! Our server, Maggie, was awesome! We were very impressed...and we will most definitely be back!!"

  • "From the unfriendly welcome to the greasy food, not a wonderful experience. The crab appetizer was all bread and grease. The veal was mostly the same."

  • "Always great food and service. Very busy night for them, but we were never neglected. Can always easily make changes to the choices of additions, I.e. Different cheeses on salad and pasta . Very accommodating staff."
