We've dined here 3 times over the past 6 months, and we're sad to say that the experience has gone downhill a bit more each time. Our first meal there was extraordinary, with exceptional service and a relaxed ambiance. The second time we went the food was just average and we were rushed to eat quickly and vacate the table. They turn over tables pretty quickly. Great if you're waiting, but not so good if you've just dropped hundreds of dollars on a nice meal and good wine. Our third experience was so-so, with food that was comparable to dozens of other average Italian restaurants in the north metro area. And again, we felt very rushed. Our server was cold and a bit arrogant, and seemed bothered by the two questions one our guests asked.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at One41 on Friday night. The ambiance in the restaurant sets an elegant, romantic tone upon first impression. We were greeted by a very knowledgeable server who made valuable recommendations for our meal. He was very accommodating in coming up with a creative mocktail for me to enjoy and was very flexible in offering to make any changes to dishes since I am pregnant, which I appreciated. We had the artichokes for appetizer and were surprised by how delicious they were. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and my husband had the veal chop parmesan. I loved my dish. My husband enjoyed his, but found parts of it to be chewy. We will definitely return, but my husband would order different next time.

We arrived for our 6:00 reservation and instead of being seated in the dining room, which was mostly empty, they seated us at a table in the bar. The bar was full of people dressed in jeans, drinking at the bar while watching basketball on tv. So much for our quiet romantic dinner, we might as well have just gone to a sportsbar. Food was okay- the grilled artichokes were very tough and my husband found a piece of bone in his shortrib cannelloni. Our server was attentive, the atmosphere was horrible. We will not be back, and will stick with Sugo's down the street!

The lamb was nice but chicken parm was NOT good at all. It had almost a gas grill propane flavor. We couldn't eat it. We mentioned it to the waiter but there was no offer to take it off the bill or comp us a dessert or anything. We were not going to ruin the evening by making a big wave over it.
The appetizer was just a huge slab of really tasty but greasy cheese. I would not get that again. I wish I had made a note of which appetizers and meals to try.
I think if you know what to order here you might have a great experience. I was wanting more guidance.
The Bees Knees cocktail was good. The lighting and service was good. Our reservations were honored.
Mainly, I expected a bit more due to all the good reviews.
I was underwhelmed.

I had hoped to be able to check Special Occasion as a special feature but it is not. We were celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary, which I told them about in your notes to the restaurant section when making the reservation. They made no attempt to make it special in the least or make mention of the occasion.
