Diner Reviews
  • "Charming restaurant decorated very nicely. Food and service both very good. I certainly recommend dining here. If we lived in Chicago we would definitely cone back. It was our 25th anniversary and they brought us desert in honor of that after our hotel concierge informed them of the anniversary. Great touch"

  • "For theater in the center of the loop, Trattoria Ten is a place we love to dine. We were early because traffic was light, and our table was ready with no hesitation. We noted a special bouquet and card at the table next to us and while we never saw the recipient of the surprise, it marked the special atmosphere of the place. We had the new Spring menu and the food and the wine pairings were excellent; my wife had the cod and I had the veal scallopini, both of which were most tasty. Sarah, our server, was courteous and attentive and other staff were similarly helpful. The carmel gelato dessert was wonderful as well. When we returned from theater to claim our car from the valet, it contained a surprise from the restaurant, a nice touch."

  • "One of our favorites downtown. It's on our short "go to" list. Always delicious and dependable. And you don't feel like you're in the middle of The Loop."

  • "Went for the pasta dishes, including handmade ravioli, and they were all delicious. Though the ravioli dishes were tasty, the flavors of the non-handmade pastas that we ordered (farfalle w/ duck confit and seafood black tagliatelle) impressed everyone at the table. Split 4 half portions of pasta between 4 friends (not all females) plus the dessert tasting platter and we left satisfied, definitely not hungry. The bread basket w/ a very yummy white bean dip was happily refilled upon request and probably helped fill us up. Also enjoyed a bottle of pinot nero with our dinner. Total came out to under $40/person before tip, which is very reasonable! Service was wonderful, though our table was a bit squished in the corner. Lovely meal overall."

  • "Have been to Trattoria No. 10 many times - consistently good food and service. Classic Chicago restaurant. Perfect for business lunches. Always love the ravioli. This time, enjoyed the arugula, granny smith apple salad with burrata cheese and parm. Could have eaten a mountain of that."

  • "My date and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food, service and location were great. Being walking distance to the theatre district was also quite nice. I had the scallop boat which was perfectly cooked and my date had one of the house specialties, home made ravioli, which was also perfectly cooked and tasted nice and light too. The dining room was downstairs too, which was a surprise but in my opinion a good one as it seemed to creates a nice warm experience. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Food was fine Service was just okay, but errors may have been due to the extremely loud lunch crowd and the service person's inability to hear. We were there for a business meeting but we ended up having to shout at each other. I had asked for a quieter area when I made my reservation, but it didn't seem like there was one anywhere on that afternoon. Environment is important to a business lunch, and our inability to communicate with each other from just the other side of the table may force me to look elsewhere for that kind of gathering. Maybe just a noisier than typical day."

  • "We ate here before seeing a show. Our waiter checked right away about our plans and said he would make sure service flowed smoothly so we could enjoy our dinner and get to the theater on time. Ravioli is a specialty here. It was light and delicious, plated in just the right portion size so you could satisfy your hunger and not feel uncomfortable later watching the show. Though the restaurant was busy, the tables were spaced far enough apart so you could conduct a private conversation and hear each other easily. We were very pleased."

  • "Five of us dined at Trattoria No. 10 on a Friday night, celebrating a birthday. I can't say enough about how wonderful the food was. We had squash ravioli as an appetizer, a prosciutto appetizer, caesar salad, osso bucco, scallops, black tagliatelle pasta with seafood, organic chicken and tiramisu. Every item was absolutely delicious! Wines were not ones that we normally see - mostly Italian and perfect with our meals. Service was impeccable. There are so many restaurants in downtown Chicago, but don't miss this one!"

  • "I have been eating here for almost 20 years - usually for lunch with business colleagues, but also with friends. Tonight I took my family for a pre-show dinner and it did not disappoint. Unfailing service, delicious, locally-sourced food, Italian classics the way you like them. The homemade pasta is divine, the mussels were fantastic, the wines perfect accompaniments. We will be back (again)!"

  • "As Italian trattoria in Chicago go, T-10 is simply good. The food is authentic even if the menu is somewhat limited. Don't be dissuaded though. What is on the menu is sold and reliable Italian cuisine."

  • "This restaurant reminded me of European restaurants located on the lower floor levels. Compact but not really be surrounded by other noisy patrons. Good specials with some excellent salad choices to start a meal. Home made ravioli. Reasonable dining with good choices. We like it a lot."

  • "There are so few places of quality in the Loop, especially in the evenings. This restaurant is perfect for pre-theatre dining."

  • "We went to a matinee and this restaurant was just a few block away. It doesn't open till 5 on Saturday, so we had a drink at the bar. The bartender made a wonderful lemon drop martini and was fun making up so new drinks. Our server for dinner was very attentive and explained some of the dishes to us. We couldn't decide on pasta or not, so we shared a small pasta as an appetizer. I had the veal scallopini and it's was delicious. They have several desserts that are big enough to share. It's a bit pricey, but well worth the money."

  • "We had a very attentive and helpful wait staff who assured we made the theater by 8:00pm. Food was well prepared. I particularly like the duck confit with farfalle pasta. Outstanding sauce."

  • "this moderately priced Italian restaurant in the theater district is a gem. food and service were superb. open table got the reservation wrong (they told me 6:30 in the confirmation but somehow the restaurant got it for 5:45). we were seated easily and pleasantly. This is a green restaurant with ample vegetarian options. The butter/acorn ravioli with walnut sauce was so good and the mushroom bisque - amazing. I recommend it highly."

  • "This restaurant never fails to deliver---food is exceptional; service is impeccable! Try the wild mushroom crostini for an appetizer; we were sopping up every last bit of the delicious sauce, mushrooms, and onions! Our server Steven was very attentive and paced our meal perfectly. He was aware of our needs and met them each time! This is a great place for before or after theater."

  • "We live in Naperville and we've been dining at this restaurant about 5 times a year for approximately 20 years. This is usually on Friday nights when we go to the Goodman Theatre. We are never disappointed. The food and service is always superb. The wait staff is very knowledgable and help with recommendations for wine and food selections. Most of them have been there for a number of years. It is always a pleasure to dine at Trattoria 10."

  • "I save this restaurant for good clients and they are always pleased with the food, service and moderate noise level. Service is attentive but not overbearing. I think a few more menu additions to the regular fare would be helpful. I know there are specials, but I think the menu has remained static for awhile now."

  • "Made a reservation prior to a play; upon arrival the host made sure that our waitor kept an eye on the time. Since they are known for their homemade ravioli, we tried one of each and shared with each other. I LOVED the squash and spicy sausage! Their dessert was also exceptional! We will be visiting again on our next trip into Chicago!"

  • "Celebrated my fiance's birthday there on Saturday with dinner because seeing a show at the Cadillac Palace theater. I mentioned his birthday in our reservation and they ended our meal with a beautiful (and free) tiramisu that said "happy birthday" in chocolate sauce on the plate. Everything about our meal was terrific-the food, the service, the atmosphere. Its definitely more of an upscale Italian than you'll find in Little Italy or other areas of the city but definitely delicious!"

  • "Food is always excellent. Love the menu. Is one of our favorite repeat restaurants. This time, though, our server seemed rushed. He had help from others at first, but handled us on his own later and did not come though as others have in previous visits."

  • "One of our latest and greatest finds. Excellent food with many selections. They offer small portions which is great if you are going to the theater. Wait staff is excellent. Very friendly and goes out of their way to visit and find what suits your food needs."

  • "My daughter and I chose this restaurant due to it's close location to theaters. Great parking deal - valet the car and they keep it for the evening. Staff welcoming and accommodating. The food was a bit untraditional Italian and both pastas that we ordered were spicey. We asked waiter if these were spicey dishes and were told they wer not. The pasta and seafood itself was done perfectly. Not a fan if the sauces."
