Trattoria No. 10great theater gem!Scallops done to perfection! Porchetta outstanding! Great downtown Chicago dining pre or post theater. Have eaten here before and have recommended to friends many times. Will return again6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite for yearsI started going here 30 years ago and try to have dinner there every time I'm in Chicago. Best homemade pasta and always top notch service! love that they now offer half orders.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dined at Trattoria No 10We dined at Trattoria No 10 because we had theater tickets and it was close. The service and food was great. The homemade ravioli was to die for and my husband's steak and mushrooms were delicious!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot for a romantic dateI took my wife here for our sixth anniversary. The setting was perfect and the food was amazing. The service staff was top notch and we enjoyed every moment we were there. Be sure to book ahead, this place is awesome.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways reliableGreat place to take clients. Great atmosphere and no need to yell back and forth. The only drawback was that our table was too close to an adjoining party and it impeded our ability to discuss much serious business. Next time, I will ask for a more secluded table. Otherwise, food and ambiance were fine.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMVery fine contemporary ItalianGood selection of moderately priced Italian wine. Excellent house made pasta.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for pre-theater dinnerI was visiting Chicago and saw all the positive reviews for this place, so I booked a pre-theater dinner before going to the Bank of America theater. Appetizers were the highlight, but the homemade pastas were also very good. I would return if I'm back to Chicago.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodOur group all agreed to say that this is the best italian food they had. Everything was wonderful and service was very professionnal, our server was very attentive and nice.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOn business in Chicago andOn business in Chicago and picked a place close to the office, randomly. Nice surprise. Lovely ceasar salad and porchetta was decadent and delicious. Good vegetarian choices for my colleague who was happy with his pasta choice. Shared the panna cotta and it was perfect. Most pasta made in house, source of the food identified in the menu. Just a nice find, after a long day of work. Odd basement location, there are no window tables, but they make it work nicely. Would go again anytime.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is a wonderful farmThe food is a wonderful farm to table experience. Our waiter was helpful and knowledgable and he made suggestions that were on the mark. The restaurant is tucked away in a lower level space but it adds to the ambience. Would eat here again in a minute!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMlucky findI was in town on business and entertaining clients and vendors and am always a little nervous to go to an untested restaurant so that it will not reflect badly on me. We were all raving about the food, drinks and service for 2 days. It really helped me hit a home run and I loved the food. We have always gone to the cliche steak houses in Chicago when we are there. They are all noisy, expensive and frankly not anything special, Trattoria was special and will be remebered. We will be regulars everytime that we return to chi-town.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat business dinnerWould highly recommend for large groups or business dinners.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Pre-Show DinnerAn excellent meal was quickly prepared and served, so it was easy to get to an 8 PM show. Trattoria was very slow with wine service, however ... waiter had to be found to bring wine.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMParty of TenWe had a party of 10 to celebrate my son's highschool graduation. Our party ranged in ages from 8 to 75 and included some vegetarians. Every person raved about their food. Overall, the evening, the food, the service could not have been any better.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMreunionWas recommended by family member for a meeting a friend who I haven't seen in 31 years. All was perfect. I'll be back. & I'll bring friends!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery solid experienceWent to Trattoria No. 10 based on a lot of reviews and wasn't at all disappointed. Service was a little stilted but good overall. Server was knowledgeable, friendly and service was timely. Food was excellent an the portions were huge. Went with two of the "house specialties" and really enjoyed both. I would go back again and would recommend Trattoria. The decor, especially the ceiling and lighting are dated.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMService was over the top excellent,Service was over the top excellent, the food was great. It is not too loud which is a major plus in my book. The dinning room is in the basement level of the building, but you really woudln't know it. The dinning room was very nice. The food was great. Normal-sized portions that were more than ample but not so much so that you walk out feeling like you over ate. Lots of local cuisine. Clearly an enormous amount of care goes into each dish.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFine Italian in a Beautiful SettingThe lower level dining room at Trattoria 10 is like a comfortable old friend. It's a very pleasant and civilized place to dine on excellent fare. The butternut squash ravioli is to die for and the pesto risotto we had as a primi was outstanding. There's always a nice selection of wines by the glass. The menu is constantly updated with a selection of pastas, meats and seafood dishes that sound so wonderful is is tough to make a choice. But pick one and you will not go wrong.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat before a showWent to Trattoria before a Wednesday show downtown. Food and wine were great, and valet parking there was perfect, we were able to pick up the car after the show without any hassle.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal! The veal scallopini was absolutely wonderful! Service was spot on. A great meal before a show at the Bank of America theater.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMStill the bestI've been a fan since it opened, and Trattoria 10 never disappoints. Everything is fresh and local, the menu changes regularly but the long-time favorites are always there. New and wonderful was the stuffed porchetta.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMHad out of town guests fromHad out of town guests from across the country. The diverse group loved the food and the service was exceptional. Busy night in the restaurant and they did not make us feel rushed though conversation kept us at the table longer than expected. I would definitely go back to Trattoria 10 with a group for exceptional food and personalized gracious service.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe rainbow trout salad wasThe rainbow trout salad was outstanding!
I will be back.
Convenient to the train and loop - perfect!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food - service okay. The food was absolutely delicious! Our only problem was with the service which was slightly abrupt. The bill was brought to us whilst we were still having drinks / coffees and we hadn't asked for it yet. So we did feel slightly rushed to leave. However, overall Trattoria No. 10 was very good and we weren't disappointed.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMvery good experienceWe had a great dinner, very tasty italian food with appropriate wine. Great service. Will come again when next in Chicago5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMfabulous downtown restaurantOther downtown restaurants seem to rush people out as if they need to get to a theater whether or not you are rushing to get to a theater show start time. Trattoria 10 is relaxed, beautiful and a wonderful dining experience.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and environmentI have always had a wonderful meal at Trattoria No. 10 and this last time was no exception. The menu provides a wide variety of selections with fresh ingredients. We appreciated the option for smaller portions on the pastas and risotto. The valet service for dinner/theater is a great option.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-theater lunch12:30 reservation, for 2PM Goodman curtain. Well paced, very good service. Tasty carpaccio of beef starter w/lemon juice; 2 risottos, 1 with scallops, 1 with pesto & chicken, both very good. Decadent Dessert: Chocolate pecan pie (a small tart) w/whipped cream, and pistachio gelato .5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA classic still does it right! The overall experience was very good. I ordered an item off the menu that I was told has been on there for 21 (maybe more??) years. In case you're wondering, it's the duck confit farfalle. It was to die for. Soooo perfectly cooked with the most amazing flavors. I also had the amaretto cheesecake, which was also very good. I would definitely go back.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Good ExperienceMy wife and I had a very nice dinner before a show at this beautifully decorated restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will be back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Ravioli in town.Just excellent. Flew in from Ottawa and made a point to visit this restaurant for a second time. Food, service and atmosphere just perfect. Even pleased my picky mother. Also great value.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Italian food withOutstanding Italian food with the various ravioli preparations standing out as some of the best we have ever had, anywhere. A must return next time we are going to the BofA theater. We went after the performance so there was no rush- glad we did.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dining experience.Excellent dining experience. The owner and staff was exceptionally friendly and accomodating to my husband and I as we had to eat fairly quickly for a restaurant of this kind as we were on our way to the Blueman show The owner was very kind and even wrote down the address of the show and how to get a cab nearby without us making this inquiry. 'They had our meal ready fairly quickly and even brought complimentary surprise appetizers to our table. The butternut squach ravioli is to die for! I have already recommended the restaurant to two friends planning upcoming visits to Chicago. Highly recommend making reservations ahead of time as it appears to be a popular spot with locals too.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner before Book of MormonWe enjoyed our dinner . The service was great .Our first time here , will not be our last5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT HOME MADE RAVIOLIThe home made Ravioli are among the best you could find this side of the world (four different type of them). The butternut squash were our favorite
The black Tagliatelle are also a gem.
Wine list is short and only Italian, but good though.
Amazing Carpaccio, and best of all, the squid appetizer... simply superb.
Great service5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMRomance and RavioliThis quiet, underground spot has soft lighting, a cozy ambiance and attentive, unobtrusive servers. The house-made ravioli are wonderful! It's also nice to find listed on the menu the origins of the regionally sourced ingredients used by this "certified green" restaurant.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent ServiceWe dined at Trattoria before going to the Book of Mormon. The service and the meal were the same, excellent. The valet parking was even special. Thanks for a great evening, we will be back.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMTop notch...as always.Superb food and service as always....over 20+ years. This restaurant is a fine dining gem. I dream about the available-Christmas-holiday-season-only lobster ravioli and the year round seasonal menus are always fantastic.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Pasta Since ItalyWe had a fabulous dinner at Trat 10! Food and service were outstanding. Special requests were handled perfectly.
We will be back and have already recommended it to friends. The calamari appetizer was unbelieveable perfectly tender. My wife is a calamari freak and she thought it was best ever - I agree. It was so good that I asked them to toss more calamari with thier spicy red sauce over pasta and it was my favorite pasta meal outside of being in Italy (and probably better than some places I have eaten in Italy).5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic from start to finish! We came to celebrate our anniversary. From the greeting at check-in, to the friendliness of the staff, everyone displayed excellent service. The food was very well crafted and fresh. The attention to detail and presentation was great. Would highly recommend and will visit again.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLower level gemWe really love this place: great menu selections prepared creatively, beautifully and delicious-ly. Great local purveyors and other food suppliers coupled with a superior kitchen. Perfect for Goodman plays or just enjoyable dinner or lunch.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, the food was superbAs always, the food was superb and the service was great. My only disappointment this time was with the wine list. The special Chianti Classico was no great shakes. At $60 per bottle, I expected better. Still, it was a nice evening and we will return.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experienceOur group of 7 was warmly welcomed and quickly seated. The service and food selection were excellent and the actual meals were wonderful.
I recommend to anyone who wants a fun wonderful experience.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!!We found Trattoria No. 10 on Open Table--figuring we would never get a reservation during the National Rest. Association Show, 2013. The food was so great! We had our little one with us and she loved the minestrone--so rich and full of veggies--and the fresh pasta was wonderful. We will be back--this is definitely a 'find' when it comes to Chicago restaurants!! Our waitress was so sweet--her recommendations were spot on, from wine to the soft shell crabs!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food near the BankDelicious food near the Bank of America Theater. Do try their fabulous homemade ravioli5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food, Service & Ambiance!Trattoria No. 10 was a very nice experience all the way around. The restaurant is beautiful, cozy and romantic with a lot of old world charm enhanced by great, attentive service. All four of us found the salads and entrees to be very fresh and original. The pasta was extremely good and tasted homemade. Our dinners were great, the wine list was full of great wines, and our waiter made sure we were on time to make our 8pm theatre show without being pushy or rushing us in any way. The hosts and bar staff as well could not have been nicer. This is a great restaurant for pre-theatre dining if you want top be able to walk to the show after dinner. All around, we loved the place and will be back very soon. Thanks Trattoria!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great MealOnce again I was awarded with a great meal and excellent service. The handmade butternut ravioli as an appetizer was light and delicious, We'll return to Trattoria #10 in the future. It was a perfect location before a Symphony Center performance.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lunch spot!Enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and energy in the dining area- food for lunch was great! Can't wait to eat there again soon!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOld Fashioned and Proud of ItThis is a great venue for both locals and tourists. The comfort food is wonderful.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
