  • "Miss Mollie has some lovely vegan dishes on her menu. Bruschetta made of luscious, sweet tomato, basil with a touch of basil. Lentil soup. Best was the Rigatoni Primavera made so that the rigatoni has the flavor of the vegetable broth with fresh veggies. Very nice. The servers all seemed overwhelmed, nervously rushing about, and not friendly. Not so nice."

It was our first visit as we recently moved to Montecito. Each of us just relished our meals and the overall friendly, caring experience, thanks to Mollie and her staff!! It was a fun, relaxing and delectable evening. Thank you!!!"

  • "I'm embarrassed to say this but I wanted to go here because of Oprah!!!! This is her favorite restaurant! We had a very nice dining experience.... The staff was soooo amazing..... Food was very good.... Not impressed with the brushetta we ordered topped with mozarella and mushrooms... Very boring and on little toasts..... But the soup was outstanding.... It was a puréed vegetable soup.... Fabulous.... I had the chicken cacciatore which was absolutely fantastic.... My husband had the pasta crepe filled with ricotta and a little little spinach in a cream tomato sauce..... That was very good.... The tiramisu for dessert was fabulous.... They also brought homemade cookies... Those were wonderful.... We would definitely go back!"

  • "The only thing that would make Mollie's absolutely perfect is if were free and next door. Been back over and over and NEVER disappoints. Everything on the menu is fabulous. The carpaccio absolutely melts in your mouth and is offset by the nutty crunch of the perfect peccorino romano shaved slices. The house meatballs are just amazing with a unique recipe and a delicious marinara sauce with the right amount of spice. The ravioli appetizer in a light cream sauce is subtle with many layers of flavors and textures. The frutti di mare is the best I've had anywhere. Her pasta is so light and tender with the right al dente bite! Just a truly great dining experience."

  • "The food was outstanding. The table bread was perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, and the balsamic was a little sweet and not at all bitter. The entrees were delicious and very high quality. The tiramisu was delightfully fluffy and the creme brulee a wonderful consistency. My only deduction of a star on Ambience was that the resturant became full (a good thing!) and it got quite loud (not such a good thing)."

  • "I can't seem to fit into this space (they only give you 750 characters) how awful this restaurant is in terms of service. I have been twice over the last 15 years or so and both were equally horrible. My most recent experience was this past Sunday. Mollie does not care about you unless you are Oprah or some other favored celebrity. While she has her staff fawning over favored guests with multiple rounds of amuse bouche you'll be forgotten. And if you call out to your waiter he'll run by. Forget about having dessert or coffee, just ask the busboy for the check. There are other excellent Italian restaurants in Montecito that deserve your business. And the food? It was just okay. Avoid this place, really!"

  • "Went for NYE dinner because they didn't have a prix fixe menu. Apps. were very $$$, plain & lacked presentation - which would have been fine if the flavors were outstanding. If you go to this restaurant, do not order the bruschetta - consisting of 4 pcs. of small plain bread, served open faced with a bit of chopped tomatoes/cheese/prosciutto on top. Main courses were ok, not as good as they should have been for the price. Service was not great despite the fact they had a lot of help moving around the restaurant. Yes, I know it was NYE (many 4 tops had 2 people, a few larger groups), but we were expecting great things from this restaurant with great reviews. For the price and if you like tasty creative food, you can do much better."

  • "The food is outstanding. Service was fine as well, but there is a policy problem: The wait staff does not inform you of the price of the specials. This puts you in an awkward position. If you ask, you appear petty to your table-mates. If you don't, you may get blindsided. No-win. We ordered a special: a pasta with truffles. Similar dishes elsewhere in town are ~ $20. It was wonderful. On the bill, surprise, it was $65. Obviously this was a real truffle deal. I get it. I think it was worth it. But it felt lousy to be blindsided. What if it was $400? They should NEVER put you the customer in an uncomfortable position. Ever. The wait staff should inform you of the prices for specials as they read them, just like items on the regular menu."

  • "We made a reservation and when we got there our table was still being used so we had to squeeze 5 of us into a 4 person square table which was fine. The food was all good. The meatballs were amazing. We also all loved the caprese, proscuitto with melon, and the pizzas. However, I got a special - fettucine with lobster - which was fine but it wasn't great. Would go back!"

  • "The food was excellent! The quality of the food would bring us back. What might not bring us back is the attitude of the wait staff. When I told the waiter that I had changed my mind and decided to have a caesar salad I got a "humph" from him. I think it was a chastisement for changing my mind. The wait staff were rushed and it felt like we were more of an irritation than a customer. I know they had a big party in the back but I didn't think we deserved to be an afterthought."

  • "On a busy night why was there one waitress for all the tables? I seriously think they miscalculated the night! 20 tables for one waitress??!! The bus boys tried but they can only do so much to make the dinner and experience nice. Waitress was frazzled and harried. Food took forever and it wasn't complicated items. After we ordered never saw our waitress again. We have gone here many times and this was by far the worst visit. The food is very good, so we will have to decide next time if we are willing to have good food with literally, half the service you expect when dining out. Maybe a second waiter would rectify this whole issue! In any event: pizzas authentic with thin crust, meatballs spicy and delicious, salmon always good."

  • "A very small restaurant with amazing food. We ordered an appetizer Margarita pizza which was made in a traditional pizza oven with it's own separate pizza chef. I ordered the spinach ravioli in a sage butter sauce & it was very good, but the ravioli itself was a bit tasteless. The sauce made the dish, however, there was only a small amount of sauce. The restaurant celebrates birthdays and provided us with a free piece of delicious tiramisu. All over, it was a great experience and I would definitely return."

  • "Love this little restaurant. It is owned by a beautiful woman who is living the dream. The food is fabulous, the wine list is perfect and the ambiance couldn't be any nicer. You are made to feel comfortable from the minute you step in the door. The food is fixed to perfection. I would HIGHLY recommend Trattoria Mollie.... you won't be disappointed."

  • "I have been to Mollies dozens of times and still consider it the best Italian food in SBA. I love the grilled calamari ( not on menu so ask) and this night I had a seabass special. My wife had the mista salad and roubile soup. Good wines by the glass, and nice ambiance. Molly stopped by too. Overall great dining experience."

  • "Whenever we find ourselves in the Santa Barbara area it always involves a stop at Mollie's! We have been dining here for many years and it never disappoints us. The food is delicious. We received a warm greeting from Mollie as we arrived and we were seated at a table that allowed us to watch her bustle around the kitchen. For some reason... knowing that her hand was involved in our meal makes it feel like it was prepared with love. Can't wait to go back..."
