Trattoria LisinaIT WAS WORTH THE WAITTHIS RESTAURANT HAD BEEN RECOMMENDED TO ME SEVERAL MONTHS AGO BY A FRIEND I HADN'T SEEN IN A WHILE. SHE GAVE ME THE INFORMATION. I LOOKED IT UP AND IT LOOKED MARVELOUS. THEN I MISPLACED IT. I COULDN'T REMEMBER THE NAME CORRECTLY AND I COULDN'T FIND MY FRIEND'S PHONE NUMBER. WHEN MY BIRTHDAY WAS COMING, I KNEW I WANTED TO GIVE IT A TRY SO I FINALLY FOUND HER NUMBER, GOT THE INFORMATION AGAIN AND MADE THE RESERVATION IMMEDIATELY. IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT. FROM THE TIME WE ARRIVED UNTIL WE LEFT, IT WAS A REALLY GREAT EXPERIENCE--AMBIANCE, FOOD, WAITER (PAUL)--EVERTHING WAS WHAT I EXPECTED. THANK YOU FOR LIVING UP TO WHAT I'D BEEN TOLD. Despite the welcome attention to families with kids, in the evening it was full of couples and wedding parties. It was bustling and fun, with attentive servers, a realistic old Italy ambiance with beautiful grounds overlooking the vineyard. The menu is smallish, with daily off-menu chef's specials and choices like rabbit, halibut, and lots of veal, but also had pizza and some interesting salads. The calamari was decent, and the bread and olive oil they serve made us both agree it is the best we've had! Prices were mostly in the $25 to $35 range. They should offer less reservation spots because they can't honor them all.The hostess has to be running back to the dining room to check on tables that are being cleaned and they look like they don't know what to do. We ate in the large main dining room, near the kitchen and the well stocked wine locker. While the room is large and quite attractive it contains a number of large, hard, flat surfaces, the effect of which is to make the room quite noisy.

I had made reservations even though it wasn't that crowded. I had noted on our reservation that is was our Anniversary. We brought a bottle back of Chianti from Italy where we spent our honeymoon. The gentleman in the front who I was unsure was a manager or bartender offered to pour our wine in a decanter with no cork fee and proceeded to hand us two glasses of Prosecco. We were then shown our table that had a white table cloth, the only table with a white table cloth. We were already feeling special. Our waitress arrived wishing us a Happy Anniversary. The ambiance is simply marvelous. The food is first class, and the service is top notch. And, this place is magical in good weather and bad. The first time we went it was raining, but it felt really cozy inside especially since we were seated by the fireplace. The second time was a beautiful day, lots of sunshine, a nice breeze and cool. We were seated in the porch area and enjoyed all the beautiful and fragrant flowers. What an experience! Apparently, they read specific notes from Open Table because they wished my wife and I a happy anniversary. This was done by a manager stopping by our table, not a staff of people clapping and singing. We had made a reservation through Open Table and the restaurant was great to call the same day to confirm. We had a party of 10. We were seated immediately upon arriving. Our server, Jessica, was so amazing! She recommened a wine and it was phenomenal. We never had to ask for anything as she anticipated all our needs. The food was absolutely incredible. We had different things and some of the specials and each dish was amazing! The energy in the restaurant was awesome and made for a lively evening. We drove about 1 1/2 hours to get there and it was definetly worth it and we will return soon! I had the saltimbocca, which was not the best I've ever had, but it was adequate. The wine list was not extensive, but everything on it was excellent. The ambiance was very nice - gorgeous building, tables far enough apart to allow for privacy, quiet enough to easily talk to your party. The service could have been a trifle better, but it was not at all bad. It is a drive into the country, which is not necessarily a bad thing, and the vineyard is extremely attractive itself. They had our wedding cake set up with candles. Our waitress was very nice and took the time to cut our wedding cake for us.
