A word from Trattoria Isabella
From the moment you step through the door of Trattoria Isabella, you take in the best of Italian dining within a warm ,romantic, contemporary setting. The airy restaurant features floor to ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood the space. And when the weather is nice we have a palatial patio with it’s own bar , flat screen TV’s, and quaint sidewalk café. Trattoria Isabella’s extensive menu caters to many tastes, featuring appetizers, filet mignon, chicken, veal chop, seafood entrees, and homemade pasta dishes, as well as a variety of tempting desserts. We now have our very own brick oven imported directly from Italy up and running. Executive chef, Michael Serratore, returning to his roots, has created a menu that incorporated family recipes handed down through generations, to bring the taste of traditional Italian cooking to Chicago’s Fulton river district.

**This restaurant requires a corkage fee of 15$ for any outside liquor.

Diner Reviews
  • "Nice amount of menu choices, great specials, reasonably priced. Good for friends' night out or romantic dinners."

  • "Delicious food and friendly service. Very welcoming and quiet enough to hear your guest from across the table."

  • "The food, wine, and overall service were good, but the restaraunt was very overbooked with reservations. Our 8:30 reservation quickly turned in to more than an hour wait at the bar, as earlier diners lingered over their glasses of wine and dessert. I don’t think the restaurant did an adequate job of predicting longer table times when they were taking reservations, and as a result, we waited to be seated for nearly an hour and twenty minutes despite our reservation. I am sure that this is limited problem due to Valentine’s Day, but not much was done to make up for our excessive wait. The service was otherwise good, as was the food and wine, but such a long wait definitely impacted the overall dining experience."

  • "Went on Valentine's Day, so maybe it was an outlier, but… throng of people waiting to be seated, no hostess in sight for first 20 minutes there. Told to wait in bar area to be seated, then almost got passed over to be seated by people with later res times (terribly unorganized). Seated almost an hour late. Couldn't make a pomegranate martini for my girlfriend, and was unable to bring me silverware or tablecloth for entire meal. Told server we were going to order a bottle of wine only to not see her again for 90 minutes. Highly NOT RECOMMEND."

  • "Service was horrible, food ok, sat us next to the wait station with with employee iPad booming. Waiter thought I was joking when I asked to be moved. Did I mention the service was horrible"

  • "Never knew this restaurant existed. But now that we have been there, we will be back. Excellent food in a very comfortable setting. We went on a cold winter night and found the restaurant warm and inviting."

  • "We went to Tratorria Isabella last minute the other night. We had not been there before but had always wanted to try it. The first course was the seafood salad - fresh but a little tasteless. No spices. The other entrees were better. The pork chop was tender. The ravioli tasty. The waitress was lovely. We were a little rowdy and she went with it. Overall I would try it again in the summer when we can eat outside. I have had better Italian food but this was ok."

  • "I was in Chicago on Christmas Night, and Trattoria Isabella happened to be open. I arrived much earlier than my posted reservation time, and they seated me immediately. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was very Christmas-like. The please is beautiful, and the wait staff and bar staff were all awesome. I will definitely eat there again when I go back to Chicago on business."

  • "The restaurant was beautifully decorated and they gave us a great corner table surrounded by windows. The food was delicious and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience."

  • "Tho we love Isabella's outdoor patio during the warm weather months, we also enjoy the ceiling to floor windows in the dining room-it's charming. Wood fired oven for the pizzas, nice bar area. Good food, good wine, good service-what more could a diner ask for?"

  • "Very enjoyable restaurant - food is excellent. Server had a bit confusion with the orders, and served a out of sequence."

  • "Went there before a concert. Had to flag down a waiter. Then my friends dish was incorrect so three of us ate while she waited. They did apologize and gave us free dessert."

  • "Our evening at TI was very good. It was relatively quiet as it was early in the evening (6ish) so plenty of room, but the ambiance was nice and the service was excellent. Everyone was very polite and accommodating. The tricolor salad was awesome and my rigatoni with vodka was hard to stop eating. Their gnocchi was also delicious and we were quite content with our meal. Unfortunately, no room for dessert! I would certainly recommend this restaurant and a good place to go after a day of Christmas shopping!"

  • "The mushroom risoto was perfect. Lemon sorbet a perfect palate cleanser. Calamari-- I had better. Mussels were excellent. The waiter asked if my group wanted soup or salad. We were surprised that salads are a la cart and had a huge bill. The Parmesan cheese is powder, not shredded. The iced tea comes from a tab."

  • "This is a place that has never disappointed me. Always excellent food and outstanding service and what I think is Chicago's best outdoor dining. And plenty of parking!"

  • "We arrived at the restaurant at our reservation time of 7:45pm. We were immediately seated at an outside table. Our waitress, who was exceptionally patient with us, allowed us plenty of time to converse and peruse the wine list. The Chianti Classico Reserva that we chose was very good. Each of our food dishes was delicious. Our son and his girlfriend truly enjoyed the dining experience. We look forward to returning again!"
