Trattoria Il PaninoYummo!!!!!Great food as always, great service from real Italians! Enough said.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMArtichoke goodnessWent here on reports of a great stuffed artichoke- I was not disappointed although it was a little bland. My partner and I had th mushroom ravioli with truffle cream sauce for main. It was amazing- we were still talking about it the next day!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AM30 TH AniversargGreat food great service the veal was fabulous lots of people waiting to eat means it's well worth the wait5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's DayI went to take my mom out for Mother's day and it did not disappoint. Everything tasted amazing and it's right in the heart of the North End.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Neighborhood PlaceGreat food! Great wine list! Very busy, but good service. My husband's entree took much longer than everyone else's, so he was given a free glass of (very good) wine. Food exceeded our expectations.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue Italian TrattoriaFood was sensational! Just like nonna used to make but with a modern flare. Servers were charming. The ambiance is very rustic. Overall, our BEST experience with Italian cuisine in North America to date!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved itFood was great? Servers were authentic Italien. Had to wait 30 minutes for table despite reservation.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing foodReally 5 stars for the food which was incredible. The pasta, sauces, everything was amazing and even unique. Love Italian food and this was a tweek different than you may find elsewhere but clearly steps above. Would recommend the lasagna in an amazing blush tomato sauce or any of the pastas. We saw people next to us get some other pasta dishes that looked amazing. Staff was a bonus - but they were genuinely very friendly and down to earth. The ambiance to be honest I'd give 4 stars. There is a main room and an outdoor spot. We sat in the outdoor section. The indoor was a little cramped. The outdoor was a little plain - wooden chairs, plain brick wall. Ok, but so what. It was clean and the food earns this place 5 stars.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experience!Veal saltimbocca lasagna, gnocchi amazing. Bit chilly sitting outside on a cool April evening, but considering there's little chance you'll get one of the scarce indoor tables even with a reservation, which we had, it was fine, especially when the warm air ducts pumped some heat on us. Service was super friendly, neighborly and efficient. Considering the quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable. For dessert, go around the corner and join the line for Mike's. And forget parking; take the T or a cab. Enjoy!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMYou will not regret dining here!I know that most restaurants in the North End would not disappoint, but in my experience Trattoria Il Panino has been in a league of its own. Over the course of the last few years, I have dined at Trattoria Il Panino well over a dozen times and I have never been disappointed by the quality of food and the dining experience there. Everything I have ordered has been expertly prepared - especially their homemade pasta dishes, which are out of this world. I can't recommend this restaurant enough!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways solid traditional andAlways solid traditional and authentic Italian fare. We had a wonderful experience with our group, felt well attended to, and will look forward to returning.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTreat yourself! What a great place and excellent cuisine. I can't remember the last time the entire staff of a resturant was so sincerely appreciative of providing their services. For a small place, they certainly have honed their skills in the kitchen and on the floor.
The food is incredible. Sometimes choosing the daily special is akin to having some spiced up leftovers at home, not the case here.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways great!!! Gets betterAlways great!!! Gets better and better. Have been going there for over 10 years. Have never been disappointed. Staff and Host are extremely accomodating and friendly. You will not find better food in the North End. The atmosphere is authentic Italian. It's like I'm back in Italy.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service! If you tryGreat service! If you try to speak Italian, they're super sweet about it!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBest of the North EndAlways wonderful food. On a Wednesday night we had a seafood pasta dish that was fabulous. The pasta is so fresh. The seafood cooked and spiced perfectly. We have been going to Il Panino 2 to 3 times a year for the past 13 years. This was the first time we saw the outdoor patio open in the winter. It is enclosed and heated but we opted to move into the main restaurant as it is very loud in the patio. Luckily, everyone was very nice and accommodating. I can't recommend the restaurant enough. The food, wine, and service are always outstanding. The ambience is fun, casual. It's not the most romantic setting but it is always comfortable.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were seated in the heatedWe were seated in the heated patio area which was extremely comfortable. Our waiter was very friendly and informative. They have an excellent wine selection, as well as a wonderful menu. My dauther and I had the risotto, which was excellent, and my husband had a pasta special that was served right in the skillet. We were all laughing at him because it looked like he licked the pan! We would definately return, and I would love to eat there in the spring/summer/fall to enjoy the patio.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMTrattorio Il Panino continuesTrattorio Il Panino continues to serve the best Italian food I've ever experienced. I've yet to have a bad meal there. One time I went 6 weeks without eating there and I truly felt something was missing from my life.
I will forever be a regular there.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone was so nice and theEveryone was so nice and the food was so good! I always hate sitting so close to the next party, but that comes with city life. Great experience!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Italian Cooking you long forI had been to Trattoria Il Panino enough years ago that I thought the shine might have worn off - but I was happily wrong! This is a great place to experience North-End life (bustling, loud, warm) and sample soem terrific food. The menu is not exciting or original, but every bite is absolutely delicious. I had the spinach gnocchi with short-ribs (excellent) my husband and son had the Oso Bucco (quote of the night re his fist taste of bone marrow: "Mummy! This bone meat is so good!") and my daughter hit the home run with mushroom-truffle ravioli. She is now a die-hard truffle fan, so thanks for that. It's crowded and not elegant, but the food is just what you want from Italian cooking.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAway from the well troddenAway from the well trodden path of Hanover Street, you will find some of the best home made pasta in North End. The food is consistently of high quality, has enough variations that you will need to stop one more time at least. The servers make you feel home. Highly recommended!2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best meals everOne of the best meals ever had in the North End. Fresh home-made pasta and the stuffed artichokes are a must-have.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AM
