Trapper's Chop HouseI had my retirement dinnerI had my retirement dinner at Trappers and there were 10 of us. The steaks were excellent but the sides lacked the taste that was expected for the price. The whole staff needs some enthusiasm for what they are doing. The waiters offered no help with the menu and acted very uninterested. Tender prime rib and honeyed ham roasts were carved to your size request and the staff kept them flowing to the carving table. The pancake and omelette station staff quickly produced savory choices that had some guests go back for more. The wait staff kept our beverages full and tables cleared allowing us the luxory to try all the buffets. Our favorites were the blintzes with blueberries and smoked salmon. This restaurant is great for that special occasion such as anniversaries or birthdays. It is a 5 star restaurant at the same level as Elway's, Shannahan's or Ruth Chris's. However, people show up on a Saturday evening in sweats and jeans with babies and toddlers. This restaurant deserves customers who dress appropriately and get a baby sitter. The intimate setting and superb service are the top reason's we keep coming back. Not to mention the great food. The place was very crowded, but our server was awesome and the food was excellent. I enjoyed the experience of cooking my own food on the hot stone. My steak tasted great and every bite was hot.
