Grandma’s and mom’s recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation have arrived here in Rockville.

We as Greeks don’t do anything small; when we gather, we gather big. When we cook; it’s never for one or 2 people, it’s always enough for friends and extended family.

Trapezaria is the celebration of bringing people together with food.

Meal time is the bonding moments we all cherish and hold sacred in our culture.

This, Trapezaria, is what we wish to introduce and extend to our American guests.

  • "Found Trapezaria on Open Table, seeking a local spot for dinner. Our server, Olga, was very knowledgeable of the menu, she seemed to be in a hurry, but we followed all her recommendations and were quite pleased. The lamb short ribs were delicious, as were the accompanying potatoes and green beans. Serving sizes: huge! The beet salad was delicious, but I could not finish it. Rice pudding was described with golden raisins, none appeared, but the dessert was delicious as well. If the musician is there, you will enjoy his music, but sit in the back, it is a bit loud up close. All in all, an enjoyable evening, we will definitely go back when a desire for Greek food arises. A great addition to the downtown Rockville restaurants."

We love the appetizers and much as we like the entrees. The food is constantly good. We have our special waitress that we just love (Sevi). Her personality is wonderful.   • "Significantly better than the typical Greek restaurant. Food quality was excellent, and portions were large. Service was very friendly. Meal starts with complimentary dips (hummus, olive oil, black olives) and very good grilled pita bread. Our mezze course was a huge portion of delicious non-greasy fried cod and an order of tangy flamed saganaki. We moved on to a grilled whole rockfish special (simply but perfectly cooked, large and very satisfying) and a nice salad with a very large portion of gyro meat added. Food prices were quite reasonable given the portions, but wine list was overpriced and surprisingly short on Greek wine choices. On a Saturday night, musician played too loud Greek music throughout the meal."

  • "We have been dining at Trapezeria since it opened. Each time we have gone there the food has been better and service improving nicely. This visit there was Greek music being played by an artist on a synthesizer. Fresh fish was outstanding. Portions very generous. We will be back."

  • "The hostess and manager greeted us immediately but managed to seat us at the second worse table (near the cold door) in the restaurant. Our drinks and appetizer came lightning fast- but it went all down hill from there. After we ordered our main course - it showed up within 5 minutes! It simply tells us it was pre made sitting in the back. My wife's dish (moussaka) was good, but the lamb dish with green beans and lemon potatoes was awful. As a navy veteran, my meal reminded me of the worst dish I ever ate in the galley! The lamb was tasteless and the green beans clearly came out of a can. When we confronted the waiter about the green beans and the fact that they tasted like they came out of the can, he said, "yes but we heat them!""

  • "Host saw us coming & opened the door for us; the start of a great dining experience. Staff was unobtrusively yet frequently ensuring we were not in need of something (other than the bus-girl who kept trying to take my bread plate). Enough staff to handle entire dining area. We had a LivingSocial 'Fixed Price' coupon so we hadn't expected such a selection - their entire drink menu and every entrée item on their menu was available (less two items listed in the voucher). The food we chose was extremely tasty (shrimp for him, Latvia (bass) for her) and generous portions. Live music this night very good, a bit loud but not obtrusive, but we were two tables away from performer."

We received a warm and friendly greeting and numerous apologies that our table was not ready when we arrived, although we only waited 3 minutes at most. I think our server had a few too many tables assigned to him. Overall it was nice."

  • "We made a night of reservation via OT and showed up a little early so we could have a drink at the bar. The bartender was a mess, kept saying "sorry, it's my 2nd day", when we tried to order an ap but he was busy "we had reservations that we didn't expect". Um, it's Saturday night. I went to the ladies room and it was smokey, smelled like they might have had a kitchen fire. My friend had a dirty martini served in a red wine glass. It took a while for the waiter to get there, when he did he was v nice. Drinks took forever, food even longer. No manager check in. Food was good, not amazing. However, the seasonal veg was green beans and they were canned. That is where the line was drawn for me. May improve with more time & training, hopefully!"

  • "My family and I went to Trapezaria to celebrate a birthday. We were welcomed by an incredibly friendly staff and promptly seated. Throughout the entire dinner our waitress, Sevi, was wonderful. She provided us with a number of suggestions and was very accommodating with any changes requested. The food was incredibly delicious. I highly recommend the grilled octopus! We will definitely be going back to Trapezaria."

  • "We recently ate here with friends on a Saturday night which was very busy for the restaurant. We were seated with in 10 min of our reservation and had a wonderful meal. Dishes were hot and flavorful. We ordered appetizers which was the lemon soup as well as the dips with Pita bread. Some had the fish while others had the combo platters. We ended the meal with fantastic baklava with melon squares."

  • "We came first for our anniversary and returned to celebrate my daughters birthday. Now spending two celebrations here. When we walked in we were welcomed so warmly by the Manager and hostess - making us feel special and at ease from the get go. The experience continued at the table. Food was delicious, fresh and well paced. On the way out, the Manager again checked in on us to thank us for coming, making us feel special from the time we came in until we left. Look forward to returning soon! Definitely recommend it. Delicious and great atmosphere!"

  • "We have taken 3 separate sets of friends to Trapezaria and each visit has been a success. Each visit was full of fun and wonderful authentic Greek food. They even have some great live music playing in the background. This is a great addition to Rockville Town Center. We've had fish, lamb, and the variety platter of Greek traditional foods -- all winners. Be sure to start your meal with the $15 dip platter. The pita is warm and fresh and the dips are delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "I pass this restaurant by frequently but have not gone in until this weekend. The food is good, decent wine selection and Ambiance. The staff is super friendly and attentive, which is a big selling point with me. We closed the place down, they were in no hurry to push us out and even gave us a complimentary dessert (which was really good) on top of everything. If you are up in Rockville, this is a good place to eat."

  • "Menu limited to meze-type food. While the assorted dips were well executed, the chicken "souvlaki" (e.g.) was fried. Since the menu isn't complicated, we expected fast service, but waited for quite a while. Then it all came at once -- while the guests were still eating the earlier course, the server just dumped the next round on the table, explaining that is how it's done. This resulted in major overcrowding on the table. The decor is the tired old blue/white combo, with the requisite mural of Parthenon, embellished by uplighted blue neon details throughout. There was live music, played well enough, but loudly. The bouzouki (key piece for Greek music) player left at 9:15, leaving thereafter only the key board player rendering Greek muzak."

  • "I enjoyed the atmosphere at Trapezaria. The waitress was friendly and enthusiastic. The trio of dips we ordered were wonderful. The waitress recommended the Greek red wine, which we did enjoy. The only complaints I have are that there were bones in my fish, and it was supposed to be boneless. I did complain. The waitress said she would tell the chef, and that was the end of it. I thought they would give our table a free dessert, or hear an apology from the chef, but nothing. This was disappointing considering the price of it. The only other complaint was that the night was freezing, and their bathrooms did not appear to be heated. The restaurant itself was cozy, but the bathrooms were an arctic blast."

  • "The Bottom Line-- Trapezaria has excellent authentic Greek food and great atmosphere. The Excellent: The menu is very strong, boasting a long list of mezze, dips, and appetizers. The pita was always hot, fresh, and delicious. Try some of the many dips -- going far beyond the usual hummus and tzatsiki, there are excellent feta, fava, and eggplant options. We were also enjoyed the iman baldi mezze, dolomades, moussaka, and they had an excellent whole rock fish. The Great: The cocktail list is pretty good, with some good specialty cocktails, and the wine list is solid as well. The Good: The staff and host were friendly and personabe."

  • "I hadn't been in downtown Rockville in years and was pleasantly surprised by the gentrification that has taken place. The downtown area is very vibrant and full of life. Trapezaria seems to fit in very well. I had a great impression from the moment I walked in. The Maître 'D greeted me immediately as did my waitress when I sat down. The service was excellent as was the meal. My friend and I each had the Calamari stuffed with spinach and feta cheese. WOW!! It was fantastic. There is ample parking in the garage behind the restaurant. I'll be back."
