Trader Vic's - Los AngelesGREAT FOOD-GREAT SERVICE-GREATGREAT FOOD-GREAT SERVICE-GREAT LOCATION. I would definitely recommend thi restaurant to everyone I know!!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMbetter value than Morton'sNot what I recall from the old days, I had the filet @ Morton's Tuesday night and my wife had Trader Vic''s filet Saturday. I preferred TV's to Morton's, it was much less expensive, and you get a lot more than a bare plate with a steak on it like you get @ Morton's. No question which is the better value imo.....6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Service! After reading reviews about the service online, we weren't so sure this was the place for us, but let me tell you- they had AMAZING service! I wish I could remember our servers name, either way, 2 thumbs up! We never had an empty glass or a finished plate for more than a few seconds!
Only complaint was that my sea bass was incredibly salty but cooked beautify!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMaximize our dining experienceFrom the moment my wife and I arrived the staff recognized our reservation and looked to maximize our dining experience. We were taken to the best table, greated with smiles from the staff, offered various options to have the Trader Vic's experience.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprise!Although this isn't the Trader Vic's of my youth, I was VERY happy to that our service and food was way better than expected. Hope they keep these standards.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Island in the Heart of L.A.Great for a wonderful "Island Atmosphere" in the heart of L.A. The food was delicious! The list for exotic drinks was amazing! I would have given the service 5 stars PLUS!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBday DinnerDinner an drinks at Trader Vic's was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was very attentive with us at all times. Definitely a place i recommend and would go back to.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI4RibeyeSuperb service with the food and drinks a taste of ambosia. The ribeye was heavenly.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMParkingFood & Service were good. Be aware that even though they validate parking in a garage right below the restaurant, if the garage is full due to an event at Staples Center or the Nokia you will be waived away and on your own to find parking elsewhere in the neighborhood and because of the event, that could cost you up to $20 with no validation available and many of the lots fill up quickly.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently ExcellentThe food, drinks and service are always a wow. Trader Vic's makes meeting, and eating delicious. A favorite place that has never, ever let me down. Bravo, Trader Vic's5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had very good service,We had very good service, and the food was good. The Mai Tais are great5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMBBQ tofuI'm obsessed with the BBQ tofu and vegetables. Soooo yummy!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent wasabi crusted filetExcellent wasabi crusted filet mignon in the wood fired oven and cosmo tidbits and wonton soup. Mai tais (traditional) and tiki puka puka were our favorite drinks. Our waiter was great - always making sure we had everything we needed and was knowledgeable about the food and drinks.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMTiki TikiFood is great and the drinks are yummy. Service was attentive and friendly. Great place!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Menu Selections!Had lunch with a co-worker one Thursday afternoon. We opted to share a few tidbits... spicy spider roll, coconut prawns, salmon salad (with purple potato slices!), and duck tacos. Sharing smaller plates allowed us the opportunity to taste a variety of menu items. My fave was the spicy spider roll and the salmon salad. Never had duck before, but it was quite tasty! The prawns were a little "bready", but not bad. Great food and great service!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMy go to place....When attending an event at Staples it's hard to beat starting off the evening at Trader Vic's. The food is consistently good, the drinks are fun and most importantly they can handle the crush of pre-event dining. Also, love the fact that reservations are honored spot-on. Service is also professional and thoughtful.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Job!great food and a fantastic ambience! Highly recommend it. It's worth the drive!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than expectedI did not expect much from a restaurant at LA Live. I knew it would be somewhat Disneyfied and overcrowded, but my wife and I went on an off night (no sporting events) and so we had our own waiter and almost no wait for our food. The food was much better than I expected. My wife had the wood fire grilled salmon, which was quite thick and good. The poke was also good as was my iron steak. Still, you pay for being at LA Live, but if you're going to the game and the Farm is full, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as well.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHoping this TV's doesn't slideWe generally like Trader Vic's for its cool tiki vibe, its fun drinks and the generally reliable food. We notice that the restaurant seems to be cutting back in some ways, like not offering the "right" drink glasses (possibly because people have been stealing them?). At our recent trip, the portions seemed smaller, particularly on the curry dish, which came with a small helping of two condiments (chutney & currants) in a small side side dish rather than the wide array in a specially designed holder that wraps around the plate. Too much breakage there, guys? We're hoping that this place can uphold the quality we've come to expect from the worldwide restaurant, and not slide into mediocrity.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways ExcellentThe chefs and the staff assure excellent service and wonderful meals.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it! Great food and service!Love it! Great food and service! Mojitos are the best!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Business LunchWe were able to conduct our business lunch with just the right level of service: no rush and available whenever needed.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDuck Duck Kings! If you dont try the duck tacos, you're missing out! Excellent! All items ordered which are cooked on the wood fire stove are excellent. The bar staff makes some of the strongest MaiTai's ever...go for it! Great place to dine before watching our World Champion LA Kings skate.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood overall was gpood, butFood overall was gpood, but the steak was over cooked and one of the dishes was seasoned with salt too much. Our party had four people and we overall enjoyed our dinner.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMwent with living social deal.went with living social deal. Waiter was friendly, clear and helpful. Ordering was easy. Wait was minimal and service was excellent. Can't ask for a more relaxed and easy going dinner.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMwe had an awesome dinner beforewe had an awesome dinner before the Dropkick Murphys concert we had the coconut shrimp appetizer and the best sea bass I've ever had! and a very yummy banana dessert.. 1944 mai tai ROCK!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is good, The fun wasFood is good, The fun was the drinks and trying new things. Service was outstanding. Good date night restaurant.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for Date Nights! It's like you just stepped into a tiki hut that a millionaire owns on a tropical island. The lights are dim to create an adult atmosphere. It can be a romantic place too, if your love is their with you. But it also could be a fun place to go with friends. They have a large bar area in the front with the main dining in the back.
I made a reservation and we were seated within 5 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I recommend their Original Mai Tai (if you want an adult beverage) because it comes out with a flaming lime on top! It was so pretty.
I got the "All In" Fried Rice and my hubby got the Teriyaki Beef Tenderloin and Prawns. We also tried the appetizer & desert sampler! It was delicious! I will definitely go bac4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDuck and MaiTai's ROCK!!!Cant go wrong with this place. They UNDERSTAND the needs of the sport fan community and strive to get you served and out in time for tip off. The duck rocks, the mai tai's are strong, you certainly leave happy.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTry the Duck Tacos! The Duck Tacos are amazing. I tried the Salmon tonight and it was really good. The Beef Cho Cho is another great appetizer. Efficient and Friendly service too!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMINCREDIBLE!!!Our waiter was very helpful. We let him know this was our first visit ever & he took the time to ask us what types if food & drinks & desserts we liked & then made recommendations for us. WE LOVED EVERY BITE & EVERY SIP!! This place is AWESOME!! The ambiance is romantic & tropical. The drinks were delicious. The food was incredible. We will definitely go back, & will refer our friends & associates.Thank You!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Service& Polynesian FoodWonderful, a place we can count on when getting together. The smoked Filet, the salmon, halibut, wonton soup, and the wonderful rice are perfect, but every dish we try is always excellent. A place I count on for perfect food and service, and that pleases everyone that comes. What dining out should be.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!!!'The food was outstanding!! We thoroughly enjoyed every bite!! The waiter seemed a bit out of it. He looked like he was maybe having a bad day, but he gave us everything we wanted.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great time. The food,We had a great time. The food, service, and drinks were awesome!! The only reason for the four and the five stars is because the tables in the lounge area are very small, but other than that it was all good.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time at the LA location. Our first time at the LA location. Our fondest memories of Trader Vic's are from the old Beverly Hills location. We've also had several dinners at their San Francisco and Chicago locations in the past. This LA Live location is a good experience with very attentive wait staff and many of the standards in the way of drinks and meal selections we had hoped to find.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe L.A. Live location isThe L.A. Live location is kind of feast or famine depending on if there's a big event at Staples or Nokia Theater. If not, you've got a nice quiet place for a romantic tropical dinner. If there's a game and a concert plan on waiting and having the place packed to the rafters.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great, drinks wereFood was great, drinks were abundant in selection and delicious. They had live music going, which really contributed to the atmosphere. Only thing I was disappointed in was that there were no souvenir glasses available to purchase, which was something I had wanted to do. I was told the demand was too high, and they had no ordered sufficient quantities to keep up with maintaining their own supply...let alone customer purchases. It would've made a nice souvenir, will just have to suffice with the night's memories!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisappointedI always go to Trader Vic's when I attend a concert or event at the Nokia or Staples.
We are always seated quickly and given perfect service. The food is always excellent..3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe original Trader Vic'sThe original Trader Vic's was my favorite restaurant, and I was thrilled to see it's come back. The new place is pretty much the same, and many of the things they changed are improvements (the cho-chos are premium steaks now, for example). I do miss the butterflies that the old place would serve the dipping sauces in.
Our server, Melissa, was fabulous. However, there were some bussers who would occasionally check up on us when Melissa was helping another customer, and they kept screwing our order up. Fortunately, this did not stop us from having a great time, and we are excited to return to the new Trader Vic's in the near future.2/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Lunch EverWhat a wonderful dining experience. We want to mention these fine employees: Manager..Diana Henaidan, Server:Vince Maracot and Busser:Luis Lizaraga. The service and food far exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful dining experience. We are so happy Trader Vic's is in LA. We look forward to many more visits to this neighborhood GEM!!!1/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe drink list goes on andThe drink list goes on and on. They really have some amazingly delicious cocktails. Also, the sea bass was the most delicious sea bass that I may have ever had. It's perfectly tender and buttery and has a great sweet, crispy glaze on top. I'm drooling just recalling it! This was our second time dining there, and both times we were waited on by Steven, who is really nice, very attentive, and gives good recommendations.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
