Good food good atmosphere, and good service6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTrader Vic'sWe've been going to Trader Vic's periodically over the years, a family favorite. Staff was friendly, helpful and very attentive, from the valet to the bus help! We made a reservation on Opentable and Trader Vic's Stephanie called us to confirm. We were seated promptly, made to feel comfortable and the wait staff was just the best!! Thanks to everyone there, it was a great experience and we'll be back soon!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingly awesome experienceWhat can I say, Trader Vic's is amazing!!! We went there for our 30th Anniversary dinner (after having our rehearsal dinner there) and could not have been more pleased. I requested a specific table when making the reservation on Opentable.com and Trader Vic's not only accommodated my request, but put together a beautiful centerpiece!!! Also when we got there, everyone seemed to know it was our anniversary and congratulated us. Truly a first class experience at a 5 Star restaurant. THANK YOU Trader Vic's for making our anniversary dinner so perfect!!! We'll be back - as usual.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur Favorite RestaurantMany fine memories of Trader Vics. It doesn't have the famous happy-hour snacks anymore, but still has the uplifiting atmosphere, attention, and ageless, delicious menu.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAs a tiki-phile, I would haveAs a tiki-phile, I would have loved to see some more historic stuff and more of a polynesian menu, but the food was great, the service attentive and they gave us a free dessert because it was our honeymoon!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance and friendly serviceShrimp and crab starters are delicious. Don't miss them.
Unique presentation of crab salad. Very good.
Food is wonderful!
Service was great, especially for patrons who took lots of time to make up our minds
View is outstanding.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experience two daysExcellent experience two days in a row. Shrimp and also chicken appetizers quite tasty. Soup with spinach and oysters very flavorful and the salmon was prepared to perfection (not over-done). We'll be back!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a traditional Vic's experience:Had a traditional Vic's experience: Mai Tais, Tidbits, Chicken and Barbecue Pork chow mein, and banana fritters! Delicious!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMHad dinner for my wife's birthday.Had dinner for my wife's birthday. Food was excellent. She had the lamb and I had the salmon. Started with the pupu platter that was fantastic. Great view and on a Wednesday night wasn't very crowded. Service was good not outstanding as it used to be. We hadn't been in a few years, but used to come all the time with my wife's parents who knew Freddie Fong a previous manager. Back then the service was impeccable. Overall a great night.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMStill Terrific! Dinner withStill Terrific! Dinner with mai tai cocktails and a scenic bay view! There have been some menu changes for the better. Trader Vic's is still a terrific place to go. Love their Cosmo Tid-Bits, Indonesian Lamb and the wonderful Snowball for dessert! New menu changes were good- like the Tuna Poke and chicken with lettuce cups! Really worth the trip over the bay bridge from San Francisco! We will be back soon!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA step back in time to theA step back in time to the 50's and 60's. Polynesian theme, good food, great Mai-Tais and, good service, a noise level low enough to actually talk. A fun evening with friends.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTrader Vics - is defintelyTrader Vics - is defintely for special occasions. Our bill for 2 ended up with tip at about $150. Drinks are awesome. Dinner choices - beware that they are different. They blend curry - pacfic tastes. Reservations are a must as the dining room is not overly large. The view is the marina and we watched the sunset. A little noisey - but also very friendly.
Every time we visit the area....this is our #1 choice!!!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience from foodGreat experience from food to service to ambiance. will be back again if in the area4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTrader Vic's still "has it"...I've dined at Vic's since the 1950s, so we thought we'd reminisce a bit. Great marina views, attentive but not intrusive service, an excellent "crispy duck" with sides including "pancakes" and a good plujm sauce a la Peking duck (I'm picky about my duck - my favorite is Xiang Man Lou in Beijing). The Trader Vic salad was prepared with young fresh greens, flame grapes, Marcona almonds and chevre - also great. The fried rice was moist, succulent and rich with ingredients - also a hit. Dessert was a good blueberry cheesecake, and a strawberry rhubarb crumble that missed its target, not crumble and little evidence of rhubarb. Only trouble was management not stopping the trio on an open mike business conference call at a nearby table.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at Trader Vic's. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We actually stayed for three hours and enjoyed every part of it - the food, the service and the view.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSkip the Eater BuffetWe went to Emeryville Trader Vic's on Easter....
Well I love Trader Vic's, but the Easter Buffet was so so.
The pupus were great as always but the mahi mahi was way over cooked. For 50 bucks a person, it was overpriced, too.
Tip: skip the Easter buffet and go any on a day when they have the usual menu, which is great.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a very nice restaurantThis is a very nice restaurant and has a beautiful view. Very good service.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI hadn't been here since theI hadn't been here since the remodel about two years ago. Really enjoyed the decor and view. Food and service were great.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI have going to Trader Vic'sI have going to Trader Vic's since I was a little girl and always loved it. I hadn't been for quite a few years, but have rediscovered it...and it's as wonderful as I remember it. A few things have changed (no more little hibatchi's), but the food was wonderful! It's pricy, but worth every bite!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDid not like valet parkingDid not like valet parking would not let u park the car yourself so had to park on street which was ok. Requested window seat but was told already reserved which did not know that and does not specify on website.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to hang out onGreat place to hang out on a Friday afternoon. Beautiful view, great drinks and innovative food. If you are sensitive to extremely spicy food, however, be sure to inform your server!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWE ARRIVED FOR OUR RESERVATIONWE ARRIVED FOR OUR RESERVATION 45 MINUTES EARLY, AND THE HOSTESS WAS MOST GRACIOUS AND SEATED US IMMEDIATELY. SERVICE WAS ATTENTIVE WITHOUT BEING OVERBEARING. FOOD SELECTION WAS VARIED AND APPEALING. APPETIZER WAS DELICIOUS (CRISPY PRAWNS!'). THE TROPICAL DRINKS WERE NOT TOO SWEET AND NOT VERY STRONG, WHICH WAS FINE WITH US BUT OTHERS MIGHT OBJECT. LOVELY VIEW OVER THE YACHT HARBOR!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA person who eats out a lotThe food at Trader Vic's has improved over the past several months and was excellent during this visit. The waitress was quite friendly and provided very efficient service.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was my first time thereIt was my first time there and I loved it. The decor was interesting and the food was great. I particulary liked the cocktail list and the regular kona coffee.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA classicThe calamari was among the best I've ever had. The coconut curry was adequate, but not great. The Mai Tais were, of course, fabulous.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNever tire of dining hereAlthough I still miss the old Trader Vic's in San Francisco, it is well worth the trip to Emeryville to dine here. So glad that most of the old favorites are on the menu along with some new dishes to try. Happy that the remodel kept the spirit of Trader Vic. Will return again and again.11/22/2012 12:00:00 AM
