A word from Trabocco
Trabocco brings something new and exciting to Alameda. Chef-owner, Giuseppe Naccarelli presents a seasonally inspired menu of classic Italian dishes with a modern twist, influenced by the cuisine of his native region of Abruzzo.
A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.

  • "After patiently waiting for an occasion to eat at Trobacco's, I must say the food was only subpar. I ordered the oxtail ravioli and my oxtail was tough to chew. The key to a good oxtail anything is to cook it until it almost melts in your mouth. The flavors of the pizza and the oxtail were just "ok". I feel like I could have cooked that dinner myself and the flavors could have been better (and I am a bad cook). The service was good though. I appreciate the Italian accents and the atmosphere of the place. If the food tasted just slightly better, I would give it 5 stars. It's on the pricier side, and although the portions were good, I think you're paying more for the atmosphere."

She's enjoyed those meals, but never before has she referred to a meal as "memorable". The octopus appetizer is out of this world - a nice sear on the outside, buttery inside. Absolutely terrific restaurant."

Whether a quick bite, lunch, a family dinner or a special occasion: it pays careful attention to its food ( whether the tender blistered pizza or a special entree of sea bass or rotisserie duck), it's service ( several waiters are recently arrived from Italy), or it's ambiance ( decor of warm woods and sleek modern furnishings enhanced by A wonderful outdoor dining area . It would a valued asset for any community ... And we' re glad it chose Alameda!"

  • "Party of five on a recent Thursday night. Restaurant was 80% full @ 7pm. Ordered a variety appetizers, pizza, pasta and meat entrees. Calamari and beet salad were tasty and Christina pizza was ample and interesting with arugula and proscuitto. Oxtail ravioli and pork chop (with the long bone) were good. Very pleased that they always allow us to split the steak (medium rare as ordered) into two portions at no split-plate fee! Tiramisu and Chocolate cake were great ways to end the meal. Wine selections were fine. Prices are higher than expected for Alameda, but worth it when you consider the decor and open kitchen designs. and free parking (it's a mall)."

The inside restaurant can be loud so request a booth, table by the wall, or outside when you make a reservation. We sat at a table in the middle of the room and it was very loud...hard to hear your dinner companions speak."

  • "I came here while out of town for business. I sat near their pizza oven station. I had a great chat with Giuseppe, their pizza chef and from what I can tell their head chef and/or assistant chef. He assisted the cooks with every step of their process. I had the spaghetti del Trabocco. I'm very picky with seafood, and it was some of the best mussels, clams and shrimp I've ever had!! Giuseppe is the real deal when it comes to real Italian cooking. I was overwhelmed with foodie delight and every part of the meal, including the service I received from the hostess and my server. I've been to Italy and this food is absolutely at par with some of the best food I've had in the boot. A++"

  • "A friend introduced me to Trabocco's for lunch. I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the outdoor dining area. Since that time I've recommended several people to that location. I had another recent occassion to have a friend invite me to dinner and I suggested Trabocco's and another friend joined us. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Customer service is extremely important to me. I was thoroughly impressed by all of the workers from the hostess to the chef, etc., I would definitely recommend it for a small group. I'd love to have an office holiday party and will look into that. Thank you."

  • "There were five of us. Our selection spanned Itialian, pork and fish. We all cleaned our plate. Service was attentive. Originally we were placed in the main dinning room, the noise level is very loud and if you are hard of hearing which I am, it make it difficult. I praise the hostess as they moved us to a quieter table which made a big different. We were find sitting at a 4 top even though we were 5. Glasses of wine are pricy. Varied menu options and bar. I would recommend."

It took several attempts to track her down just to get refills of water ! We expected better service - considering we were a large party ! She never even smiled or apologized for not giving us water ! disappointing poor service - have been 4 times to restaurant. This was the WORST SERVICE ! lady waitress gave us minimum service - took order for main course and dessert difficult to track down on water ! would not like to be seated at her table again ! I brought my in-laws from Hong Kong as well as long-time family friends !"

  • "I've been to Trabocco several times and each time it's been perfect! This was the first time I ate outside and I was joined by two friends who ate there for the first time. It was a magical experience for all of us! Our waiter - Michele - was superb! He had a wonderful sense of humor and we couldn't have received better service. Our food was also excellent - from the salmon panini (with to-die-for french fries) to the butternut squash ravioli to the gluten free seafood pasta. Of course we had to share the flourless chocolate cake - fabulous! It's my last week living in Alameda and I have to say that Trabocco will be the number one restaurant I will miss in the area. I'll be back to visit though!"

  • "After my wife's great lunch a few weeks ago, and friends' positive reports about recent dining @ Trabocco, we were very disappointed on a variety of issues: (1) we waited 30 minutes for our table; (2) the pizza/calzone was cold in the middle; (3) the cappuccino was cold; (4) the espresso was bitter; (5) the chef greeted many other patrons but not our table; (6) our server was inattentive most of the 2+ hour ordeal."

  • "When I a not having a quiet meal there with my husband and friends, I like to sit at the counter with a gal friend or two and flirt with the owner/chef, Giuseppe, and the wait staff while we watch the cooks do their magic. Christina, Giuseppe's wife, runs the front of the house with grace and style. Don't miss the pizza named after her: wild mushrooms, mozzarella on a perfect crust, topped with arugula, prosciutto, shaved Reggiano and a drizzle of truffle oil. Seafood is wonderful, as are the pastas and rotisserie items."
