A few of us had previously eaten at Tra Vigne and had good experiences. We were all very pleased with our dinners on this occasion. Everything was excellent from the freshly made mozzarella cheese to the freshly made pasta. The pasta was thin, perfectly cooked and so delicious that even though I was more than full, I could not stop eating the dish I had ordered. All in the group recommend this place highly. It was a lovely experience and a great value. In addition to some reat sparkling wines, highlights included chicken apple sausage made on premises, fried mozzarella, and a gourmet breakfast pizza made with thinly sliced potatoes and a slow-cooked egg on top. Bruch is a great way to experience this beautiful restaurant and a perfect way to start a Sunday of wine tasting in St. Helena and surroundings. Although they don't have the buffet like they do at Brix, they do have breakfast and lunch dishes throughout their menu. And their wine selection was excellent and we picked a Pinot that we enjoyed previously on our 10th anniversary. The ambiance was great, the kids had a blast and were unnoticed, and the food was excellent. Three generations 25 to 90 all enjoyed. Dinner was truly delicious and the service impeccable. The server was most helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. After a day of sampling fine wines in Napa, keeping water glasses filled is a must- and they did not disappoint. Everyone's entree- including several with their homemade pastas- was mouth-watering. Calamari with asparagus very tasty! Only room for two desserts for all to share with coffee and cappuccinos, but the chocolate cake w/ice cream and panna cotta were the perfect endings. We have made several trips to Napa Valley and had enjoyable dinners, but this one was definitely memorable. This is the 3rd year my wife and I have come to Tra Vigne and we have never been dissappointed. We now ask for our favorite server, Neal, who always makes the evening fun, friendly and a meal worthy of the price. From the lovely hostess, Ashley, to all the servers who painstakingly deliver and "present" the food, this place is a gem. They have a really nice courtyard that is upscale, beautiful, nicely lit with lights in the trees and even a seperate area for private parties. If I wasn't already married, I'd consider this restaurant for a rehearsal dinner or reception. Reservations mandatory, especially weekends. Keep up the great service Tra Vigne!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA Romantic Evening on a Budget.If you're concerned about value, Tra Vigne offers just about the best "price to quality ratio" in the Wine Country. My wife and I eat here frequently. The appetizers are substabtial enough so that three or four make a meal for us - last night we began with their signature hand made mozzarella; then an outstanding ceasar salad; finally roasted mussles and a calamari frito misto - an outstanding meal for less than 60 bucks.
