A word from Tra Vigne
Tra Vigne is a ristorante set apart among the vines, creating the illusion of an enchanted Italian village. Behind the ivy covered walls are Three distinct environments: The grand dining room with 30 foot ceilings and a hand-carved bar, the courtyard with alfresco service, and the Magnum Library for special events. Chef's creations from antipasti to pastas, entrees and desserts pay passionate homage to traditional Italian cookery. The restaurant's extensive wine cellar features Napa Valley vintners and Italian varietals.

  • "Excellent food and terrific service from Nestor. Looking forward to going back."

  • "Have to say our waiter wa so helpful with what Appys to order and also the entrees. We did not order the freshly homemade Mozzella with bruschetta as my husband wanted the mussels. I would definitely order the mozzarella next time. He suggested a few entrees one being the short ribs and the other a veal dish. Both were excellent! As we were having an excellent Caymus Cab Sav, we were too satisfied too have a coffee or dessert. Next time we will save some room! Excellent everything here. Loved our waiter and his informative suggestions. Will be back!"

  • "This is my second time here. The first time was very good all around but not excellent. I hesitated coming back because I wanted to experience other restaurants. I am so glad I did. This time it was amazing!!! The food, the service and the surroundings, just perfect. I will not hesitate coming back next time."

  • "Over the years Tre Vigne has been our fav place in the Napa Valley; we've never been disappointed. Everything is so well made and presented; a pure pleasure to dine there !"

  • "Saturday night, place was very busy, very nice menu with lots to offer all tastes. Reasonably priced and no corkage fee for your 1st bottle which was a very nice thing. The waiter was very pleasant and the service was attentive. The main dining room is very large but really high ceilings so the noise level is not overwhelming which you woud experience in most energetic type atmospheres so this made for a nice dining experience. The house made mozzarella was good but a little rubbery in texture. We had the bavete steak and rabbit with papperdelle and truffle which were both excellent. Too full for dessert but the offerings looked great."

  • "This restaurant never fails to totally please and the cannoli for dessert would make any Italian in North Beach weep with delight. We spent a really pleasant Monday evening on the patio eating until we could eat no more- appetizers of fresh mozzarella and pizza breads, pastas and great wine from their special half off Monday wine list. The service is impeccable and ambience friendly and not snobby or off putting for someone who is not rich or a "foodie". This was the highlight of our weekend in Napa."

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Tra Vigne in Napa Valley. The outside setting is beautiful, from the building itself, the outdoor patio, the inside bar and the wine bar, each part beautiful. Our server, Neil, was fabulous. His enthusiasm for the place as well as the for the menu and his sparkling personality made for a fun and vibrant evening. The mozzarella is exquisite, a must for all diners. The ambiance is splendid, making a decision to return a must. The four of us dined on tuna, short ribs, and four pasta's which included rabbit, veal, asparagus and mushrooms - all delightful. We will recommend Tra Vigne to friends visiting Napa Valley and will certainly return ourselves."

  • "TraVigne brings classic, white cloth perfection to the Napa Restaurant scene. Staff is experienced, always with a smile and really knows he menu to answer questions. Kitchen recognized my request for little to no salt without question. Food was hot, served in a leisurely pace. Servers are great with your win or theirs off of a superb list. Finally, quick shout out to Eileen at the bar. No one better."

  • "Enjoyed a luncheon in honor of my sister's birthday. Our 102 year old Dad happily joined in the luncheon celebration. Hugo was an enthusiastic and well versed staff member about all the items on the menu. The entire staff was very professional and made us feel welcome. The comfy chairs, real linen, attention to details added to the excellence of the food. We had Arancini meatballs, the fresh mozarella, hamburgers, and delicious pasta with cannoli for dessert. A lit birthday candle on one of the dessert plates made it festive."

  • "Menu needs some more variety with dishes that were based on less exotic and more regular ingredients that allowed patrons of all tastes to enjoy their meal. Duck and rabbit, etc have their place but would be helpful if there was also chicken and veal and halibut and sole, etc. Our server was very good -- knowledgeable and helpful -- and seemed to enjoy his job. We enjoyed our experience at Tra Vigne and would certainly consider it for a re-visit when we are in the area next."

  • "Two of us split a salad (shaved veggies) and a pizza (mushrooms) - plenty of food. And it was fantastic! Only complaint is that since this is an authentic Italian restaurant, one cannot get diet soda, and tap water is just that - tap water, no ice. That's a little too much like Italy . I know that's what they are aiming for, but would have appreciated either ice water or a diet soda. Wine is also great; excellent server let us try a couple before we settled on a bottle of their house red (Dado) - perfecto!"

  • "We stopped by for lunch on a whim. Our server was pleasant and had good recommendations for us since it's been over 13 years we ate there last. The arancini bolognese was out of this world. Our pasta dishes were perfectly al dente and the sauces were so rich and delicious. We wanted to lick the dishes clean. I would definitely recommend not going to late after lunch because our server seemed to be less enthusiastic towards the end. A couple of large groups came in after us and he seemed very busy taking care of them. Come early and enjoy the energy of the room."

  • "We had dinner at Tra Vigne on our last evening in Napa. It was the perfect meal experience to end our romantic weekend. The appetizers were nothing short of amazing. The mozzarella is a must. The porterhouse was perfect for sharing. The staff were very welcoming and all in all a fantastic finish."

  • "The winter Dungeness crab--oven roasted and dripping with butter and garlic--was terrific. As was the fritto misto and the pear and gorgonzola salad. Very attentive service. This is why we return to Tra Vigne again and again."

  • "Restaurant menu and meal overall good. I wasn't overall impressed as I felt the dinner was your basic Italian presentation. I would prefer this restaurant for lunch in the future."

  • "This dining establishment offers it all . . . from their large parking lot to the stunning ambience (inside & out) to the great waitstaff, beautiful full bar and most of all . . . fantastic food at reasonable prices. An incredible appetizer is the Mozzarella "Al Minuto" hand made at the time of your order . . . lightly grilled bruschetta (4 large pieces) drizzled with Napa Valley olive oil, fresh & creamy Mozzarella served table side ($14) you'll look at your dining guest(s) and wonder (trust me, they will too) if getting a second order would be too much (wink). Their menu offers something for everyone . . . So visit often and ENJOY. Note: #1. Arrive early and have a drink at their beautiful bar. #2. get a 2nd order of the bruschetta :)"

  • "We felt rushed by our server. We ordered drinks and he asked for our food order. He presented the bill before asking about dessert, which we wanted. The food was good but we could have had a better experience at Mimi's for a lot less money."

  • "Don't miss this restaurant on your next visit to NAPA. With so many choices, its hard to know where to spend your time and money. You won't be sorry here! The menu is fantastic, to food is fresh and handmade bruschetta will make you want to go back for lunch the next day!"

  • "I went to Tra Vigne for lunch. The lunch was good. Just wondering why they don't offer OpenTable points when dining there. While I enjoyed my lunch, I will look for other restaurants that do offer points to try before going back to Tra Vigne again."

  • "First of all, as soon as you walk in the smells are fantastic. The food is always delicious. The wait staff is so attentive and the food comes out quickly. Another great Real Restaurant! They are all wonderful! Buckeye Roadhouse and Bungalow 44 in Mill Valley, and Picco and Pizzeria Picco in Larkspur, as well as eight other well-known restaurants and a bakery in San Francisco and Napa — Betelnut, Fog City, and Bix in San Francisco. I love them all."

  • "If you don't do anything else in St. Helena, have the made to order mozzarella. The only constructive input I have: 1) is that the staff greeting/seating you could be a more friendly and energetic, since they set the tone for guests walking into the restaurant. 2) Also, I don't think they communicated to the server that we were placed outside on the patio in the corner. One of my friends got tired of waiting for a server, so she actually had to get up and tell another server that we hadn't yet been attended to after sitting there for 15 minutes. Once our server arrived, she apologized for being late and all was well from that point on. I've been to Tra Vigne a few times and the food is always consistent in quality and flavor."

  • "If you only have a few hours to go on vacation, go here. The surroundings are beautiful, the food fabulous, the people wonderful. It always feels like a lovely time away from it all."

  • "Aside from the great food, great service, great outdoor dining, great weather; something has to be said about the chairs. The new chairs at Tra Vigne for the out door dining tables are great. Most restaurants do not put any stock into comfortable chairs. They add a star to one's dining experience. Thanks to Jay, our favorite server who always takes good care of us. Hugh, also a Tra Vigne, server who is an old friend, greeted us warmly and made us feel very welcome. It is always nice to go where people know your name."

  • "Great dining experience. Romantic on the patio after dark. We have gone several times over the years, dating back to Michael Chicciolo and have always had a good meal. Even though it is now a chain they do a god job. Varied menu, reasonable prices, great atmosphere. Love the pasta, great daily specials."

  • "Superb meal from top to bottom. Weather was nice enough for us to sit outside in the courtyard to enjoy our dinner. Food was delicious as always and the service was also extremely attentive."

  • "Still strong after nearly 30 years. Start with the Mozzarella Cheese "Al Minuto". Brunch favorites include the House-Smoked Scottish Salmon, Eggs Benedict, and the Open-Face Tomato Panino. Fine wine list, but for Sunday Brunch one might try either a mimosa or bellini."

  • "Mozzarella was AMAZING! I love sitting outside in this beautiful setting."

  • "Was here 26 years ago when it was new and returned for the first time. The interior is quite different but the food and friendly service is still outstanding. No snooty waiters here- just informative and helpful with menu selections and things to see in the area. Don't miss the house made mozzarella. Life changing!!!"

  • "Amazing food and service. Best Italian restaurant in ambience and cuisine. Try the homemade pastas, the herb with veal ragu was memorable. A neighborhood favorite in the competitive Wine Country-easy to dream about dining at Tra Vigne as a regular."
