A word from Tra Vigne
Tra Vigne is a ristorante set apart among the vines, creating the illusion of an enchanted Italian village. Behind the ivy covered walls are Three distinct environments: The grand dining room with 30 foot ceilings and a hand-carved bar, the courtyard with alfresco service, and the Magnum Library for special events. Chef's creations from antipasti to pastas, entrees and desserts pay passionate homage to traditional Italian cookery. The restaurant's extensive wine cellar features Napa Valley vintners and Italian varietals.

And it is just more quiet and relaxing than the bustle of the main dining room. Of course the best appetizer is the mozzarella cheese. Never miss this. We shared the fish of the day. It was deboned at the table expertly and was perfect."

  • "Have to say our waiter wa so helpful with what Appys to order and also the entrees. We did not order the freshly homemade Mozzella with bruschetta as my husband wanted the mussels. I would definitely order the mozzarella next time. He suggested a few entrees one being the short ribs and the other a veal dish. Both were excellent! As we were having an excellent Caymus Cab Sav, we were too satisfied too have a coffee or dessert. Next time we will save some room! Excellent everything here. Loved our waiter and his informative suggestions. Will be back!"

  • "Saturday night, place was very busy, very nice menu with lots to offer all tastes. Reasonably priced and no corkage fee for your 1st bottle which was a very nice thing. The waiter was very pleasant and the service was attentive. The main dining room is very large but really high ceilings so the noise level is not overwhelming which you woud experience in most energetic type atmospheres so this made for a nice dining experience. The house made mozzarella was good but a little rubbery in texture. We had the bavete steak and rabbit with papperdelle and truffle which were both excellent. Too full for dessert but the offerings looked great."

We spent a really pleasant Monday evening on the patio eating until we could eat no more- appetizers of fresh mozzarella and pizza breads, pastas and great wine from their special half off Monday wine list.The service is impeccable and ambience friendly and not snobby or off putting for someone who is not rich or a "foodie". This was the highlight of our weekend in Napa."

Our server, Neil, was fabulous. His enthusiasm for the place as well as the for the menu and his sparkling personality made for a fun and vibrant evening. The mozzarella is exquisite, a must for all diners. The ambiance is splendid, making a decision to return a must. The four of us dined on tuna,short ribs, and four pasta's which included rabbit, veal, asparagus and mushrooms - all delightful. We will recommend Tra Vigne to friends visiting Napa Valley and will certainly return ourselves."

  • "Enjoyed a luncheon in honor of my sister's birthday. Our 102 year old Dad happily joined in the luncheon celebration. Hugo was an enthusiastic and well versed staff member about all the items on the menu. The entire staff was very professional and made us feel welcome. The comfy chairs, real linen, attention to details added to the excellence of the food. We had Arancini meatballs, the fresh mozarella, hamburgers, and delicious pasta with cannoli for dessert. A lit birthday candle on one of the dessert plates made it festive."

Duck and rabbit,etc have their place but would be helpful if there was also chicken and veal and halibut and sole, etc. Our server was very good -- knowledgeable and helpful -- and seemed to enjoy his job. We enjoyed our experience at Tra Vigne and would certainly consider it for a re-visit when we are in the area next."

  • "Two of us split a salad (shaved veggies) and a pizza (mushrooms) - plenty of food. And it was fantastic! Only complaint is that since this is an authentic Italian restaurant, one cannot get diet soda, and tap water is just that - tap water, no ice. That's a little too much like Italy . I know that's what they are aiming for, but would have appreciated either ice water or a diet soda. Wine is also great; excellent server let us try a couple before we settled on a bottle of their house red (Dado) - perfecto!"

  • "We stopped by for lunch on a whim. Our server was pleasant and had good recommendations for us since it's been over 13 years we ate there last. The arancini bolognese was out of this world. Our pasta dishes were perfectly al dente and the sauces were so rich and delicious. We wanted to lick the dishes clean. I would definitely recommend not going to late after lunch because our server seemed to be less enthusiastic towards the end. A couple of large groups came in after us and he seemed very busy taking care of them. Come early and enjoy the energy of the room."
