Tra VigneFriendly wait staff and veryFriendly wait staff and very knowledgable. Service and food very good. Beautiful setting. I would definity go back.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply AmazingWe had a lot of good food in the Napa Valley, but as far as food quality and atmosphere, Tra Vigne takes the cake! The perfect dinner to end our weeked Napa getaway!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMour favorite placeI can't believe I even considered trying a different Italian restaurant while we were in town. We live in Chicago, the land of awesome Italian restaurants, and we ARE Italian, and this place is at the top of our list. The food is so good, it's impossible to not eat every single crumb. Our concierge tried to talk us into going somewhere else, and we're soooo glad we didn't listen. We have gone and will continue to go every time we are in town. The outdoor patio is beautiful and just makes it even more romantic. You're crazy if you don't try this restaurant.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways perfectWe love the outside dinning . Relaxed but elegant, cushions on the chairs, best waiters and plenty of light eat options for lunch. We drive up for lunch and open table our reservation once we know when we will arrive and always get a great table. I Wished we lived closer and could take advantage of the great full meal option. Everything is great. Some of the appetizers are a full meal some are lighter but you can always order more no one rushes you.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for Outdoor lunch! We were on our way from Healdsburg to Yountville and stopped here for lunch. The atmosphere is fantastic outside on the patio. There are trees low overhead that makes it very cozy like you are eating in a courtyard in Italy. The food was very nice but the patio was the best.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial Mother's DayExcellent food and service. Don't forget to ask the mozzarella appetizer!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day brunch exceededMother's Day brunch exceeded our expectations. From the inital greeting to seating, thru dining experience. The service was outstanding, both friendly and professional. The menu was impressive and hard to decide what to order. The short rib hash was so good, I would order this again. we ordered a few appitizers and were pleased with each one.
Can't wait to go back and try for dinner!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA reason why we keep coming backWe always try new places even after we have found a place we love. This is the first time we have ever found a place we liked so much that we came back a week later. Another great service by an excellent and personable staff.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers Day at La Tra vigneHad a great Mothers Day brunch at this restaurant. Although they don't have the buffet like they do at Brix, they do have breakfast and lunch dishes throughout their menu. And their wine selection was excellent and we picked a Pinot that we enjoyed previously on our 10th anniversary. The ambiance was great, the kids had a blast and were unnoticed, and the food was excellent. Would go again without question and would sit outside if available.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAll around amazing experienceSurpassed all my expectations. Food, wine, atmosphere and service were all exceptional.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely setting - delicious food!We went for a late night dinner and sat outside under the cafe lights strung from the patio trees. The 4" slab granite table was impressive to seat our large family. The kale salad is incredible - unique, fresh and very tasty. We had an assortment of appetizers, each one more satisfying than the next along with one entre' -a trilogy of tuna- shared amongst us with a wonderful bottle of wine. Three generations 25 to 90 all enjoyed. Sit outside rather than in if you can as it is easier for the eldest generation to hear the conversation.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and exceptional serviceWe booked a table at the last minute and were welcomed warmly. The food is very good. The outdoor patio table was delightful. The service was truly outstanding - attentive without being intrusive. This dining experience was a highlight of a lovely visit to wine country.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI have enjoyed dining hereI have enjoyed dining here many times although have not visited for over ten years. The expierince has not changed it is still incredible.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the state's finestCalifornia has many fine restaurants and Napa Valley and St Helena are the center of many exceptional choices. Tra Vigne is equal or better than the best that we have here. It is worth a trip from the Bay Area. Include it into a day of winery touring and you will remember the day forever.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic experienceWe hosted an out of town client for lunch and wine tasting. Our server made wonderful recommendations and everything was fabulous. Our group raved about the food and experience all day.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb brunch !Delicious food and very pleasant ambience at very reasonable prices. The only negative was the opening lengthy spiel by our server which felt like he was trying to sell us something, although service after that was excellent. Will definitely return...5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDessert is a MUST!We couldn't get over how delicious the desserts were! Salted caramel pana cotta = wow!!!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Perfect Meal! The food was perfection. The short rib hash was melt-in-your mouth --- the meat so tender and well infused with the braising liquid. We tucked into the bread basket to sop the remaining sauce, it was THAT sublime. The smoked salmon with creme fraiche over latkes --- superb. I especially noted that the latkes were delicate and crispy.. For dessert we shared salted caramel panna cotta and gelato. We enjoyed that the salted caramel was subtle and not overwhelming sweet or salty. We favored the marscapone gelato for its creaminess. Even better than the actual desserts were the cookies --- a dense macaroon-like cookie with a surprise sprinkling of rosemary on top; and the biscotti, baked with just the right crunch.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food/atmopshere, ok serviceWe have been to Tra Vigna several times. As usual the food and atmosphere were wonderful. The fresh mozzerella was splendid. It was very unfortunate that the service was a low point. The waiter was cold in general and at times rude.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinner with friendsWe chose to go back to Tra Vigne for our annual girls' mudbath and were not disappointed! The patio was lovely and the food was superb. We liked that you can get half a portion of most dishes. The baked mozzarella was great as was the service.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI am home!!!What can you say when you find a place that has such a profound impact on you. The food, the view, the ambiance, the food...get it. This is such an amazing place that anything I write wont do it true justice. You will plan your time off around satisfying your creative food craving. Everything was just an amazing creation by most likely a very talented and gifted chef. The fresh mozzarella, asparagus soup, braised ribs, risotto, lava cake...People eat to live...you come to a place like this because you live to eat.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were visiting wineriesWe were visiting wineries in Napa valley and we came upon this divine restaurant. The pastas were fantastic as was the made on the spot cheese5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMItalian GemClever chefs with a great flare for creativity! My wife and I loved everything about the place. The excellence of the food was only surpassed by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. All of the patrons seemed to be lovers of life and having a great time too. If you are in the Napa Valley you need to give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNapa Valley FavoriteWe had a group of 6 dining on a Friday Night in early May. Dinner was truly delicious and the service impeccable. The server was most helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. After a day of sampling fine wines in Napa, keeping water glasses filled is a must- and they did not disappoint. Everyone's entree- including several with their homemade pastas- was mouth-watering. Calamari with asparagus very tasty! Only room for two desserts for all to share with coffee and cappuccinos, but the chocolate cake w/ice cream and panna cotta were the perfect endings. We have made several trips to Napa Valley and had enjoyable dinners, but this one was definitely memorable. We will plan to reserve a table at Tra Vigne on our next trip!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA 1st class dining experience!I've never given 5 stars to ANY business before but I believe Tra Vigne is worthy of it.
This is the 3rd year my wife and I have come to Tra Vigne and we have never been dissappointed. We now ask for our favorite server, Neal, who always makes the evening fun, friendly and a meal worthy of the price. From the lovely hostess, Ashley, to all the servers who painstakingly deliver and "present" the food, this place is a gem. They have a really nice courtyard that is upscale, beautiful, nicely lit with lights in the trees and even a seperate area for private parties. If I wasn't already married, I'd consider this restaurant for a rehearsal dinner or reception. Reservations mandatory, especially weekends. Keep up the great service Tra Vigne!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA Romantic Evening on a Budget. If you're concerned about value, Tra Vigne offers just about the best "price to quality ratio" in the Wine Country. My wife and I eat here frequently. The appetizers are substabtial enough so that three or four make a meal for us - last night we began with their signature hand made mozzarella; then an outstanding ceasar salad; finally roasted mussles and a calamari frito misto - an outstanding meal for less than 60 bucks. Service is warm and friendly; the wine list is long - there are bargains in there if you search; and the room is just about the best in the Napa Valley.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. AskedGreat food and service. Asked for an earlier reservation on the day and they were very accommodating. The waiter made great recommendations for us. The waiter was pleasant and efficient.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, excellent foodGreat service, excellent food and enjoyable atmosphere.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBest steak in the valley - repriseThe porterhouse for two was so delicious the when we visited with friends the week before that my wife and I had to go back for another delicious meal. Again the meat was perfectly done medium rare and one of the most tender, flavorful steaks that we ever had.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat waiter, good food. AllGreat waiter, good food. All three of us had been there before and it was just as good of an experience as the previous visits.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Experience - Napa ValleyA great restaurant in beautiful St. Helena / Napa Valley. Great food and service. Amazing atmosphere. Wonderful experience. Highly recommended!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly RecommendedOne of the best meals we have had during our visit to area. Superior service amid beautiful
surroundings. Home mozzarella was amazing!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNot your grandpa's ItalIanExcellent, foodie quality restaurant. If you are looking for spaghetti or lasagna and checkered tableclothes, this is not the Italian restaurant for you. If you are looking for delicious, unique Italian food with lots of flavor, this is a must!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time. Early dinnerHad a great time. Early dinner 6:30pm; no crowds and wonderful food.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDuck risotto appetizer wasDuck risotto appetizer was spectacular. My flounder filet was wonderful. Wife's steak was perfectly cooked. Tiramisu and cannoli ended dinner magnificently. Wonderful waitress.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWould definitely go again! The ambiance and decor sets the mood for a highly romantic dinner (request a table on the patio).. And while the food was prepared well, it was a little heavy in presentation (the mozerella swam in a little too much oil/butter and the arugula salad on the Bavette steak dish was was covered in grease from the steak, specifically). The braised short ribs were outstanding, and the hand made mozerella cheese is a must. As for service...our server was attentive, but short on eye contact and conversation....but we were never left without water, drink, or food. Finally the prices were more than fair, compared to other places we ate (la toque, French laundry, etc...)Overall a great experience...but subtle things kept me from giving 5 stars4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThird time I have eaten hereThird time I have eaten here and there is a reason for it. I usually like to try new places, but I have relied on TraVigne to be the rock to entertain my out of town visitors. The 45 day aged steak for two is worth every penny and the Mozzarella Al Minuto is a must have.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTra Vigne ~ still a treasureAfter all these years, Tra Vigne is still a special place to dine in Napa Valley. The mozarella appetizer is amazing and a must-have, the pasta dishes delicious, and our waiter was a delight.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA Napa Valley ClassicTra Vigne is a Napa Valley classic restored to greatness by Chef Nash Cognetti. The mozzarella is the best around - hand made when it's ordered! Pastas and pizzas are all made in house and delicious. The pork saltimbocca is mouth-watering. But best of all is the bistecca Florentine. Chef Nash traveled throughout Italy to learn the best techniques and now share them with his patrons. The steak is flavorful and tender. The menu says it's for 2 but we like to have it for at least 3 people supplemented with mozzarella, salads, sides of frito misto, a pasta, and maybe some additional vegetables. If youhave a sweet tooth, both the Tira Misu and the Butterscotch panna cotta are terrific.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat lunch on the patio!great lunch on the patio! the food was amazing! especially the appetizer w/ the soft burrata cheese!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest steak in the valleyFour of us had dinner at Tra Vigne and thought the service, ambiance and food were exceptional. The porterhouse for two was the best steak we had in the area.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMTra Vigne is consistentlyTra Vigne is consistently a winner; from arrival at the front door to leaving the restaurant my visits (and I eat there often) are made special beginning with the architecture of the garden set-up and well into being seated at my table. EVeryone is polite and friendly without being obseqious. I especially enjoy the Wednesday-night special of cioppino (sp?) which is amazingly delicious and the best deal thoughout the Napa Valley.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMRediscovered and glad we did!we have rediscovered Tra Vigne and love the food. We also appreciate that we can hear each other and we can converse because the noise is at an acceptable level. It could still be better/quieter. We brought others with us the second time we came in one week.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMJust awesome. The fact thatJust awesome. The fact that they waive for corkage of your first bottle of wine makes Tra Vigne significantly more affordable than other similar restaurants in the area. We had a lot of recommendations for the mozzarella and short ribs and while both were delicious I'd like to put in a word for the near-perfect Dungeness crab we ate. Our server was spectacular and charming Nd really went out of his way to ensure our dining experience was sublime4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed brunch/ lunchReally enjoyed brunch/ lunch here. We also loved
Sitting outside in the courtyard. Food was good, ambiance was good,
Service was good! Very pleased with this place. Would love to go
Back there!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great dinner! andWe had a great dinner! and the waiter was FUNTASTIC this restuarant has made a huge turn around!
Thank you for the great evening. we will be back soon4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVisited this restaurant aVisited this restaurant a couple times and always had an exceptional experience. The exterior architecture is beautiful and inviting and the outdoor seating area is very romantic. The inside is a very big room but has an intimate feeling. Every time I have dined here, I have always had a great meal, with the exception of the last visit last week. I had a lamb dish, which was very salty. I mentioned it to the waiter and he stated the chefs tasted it and agreed. They offered another meal in its place and immediately took the price of the meal off my bill. Overall, I am impressed with the service, quality of the food, and overall ambiance.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh mozzerella preparedFresh mozzerella prepared for each meal, to die for. Very good duck with risotto! Tuna pasta with meyer lemon, and pasta with lamb ragu so tasty. Pasta obviously fresh. Waiter made sure our wine choice went well with our meals.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I come here often. My wife and I come here often. This time it was for brunch on Sunday. We always have the delicious, hand made mozzarella cheese on their grilled bruschetta. I thoroughly enjoyed my order of melt in your mouth, slow braised short ribs hash topped with two poached eggs. My wife had the kale and farro salad with shaved fennel, cranberries, and goat cheese with Meyer lemon citronette. The food was excellent.
We are always greeted well at the door. Our waiter was attentive and efficient.
We will return soon!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went as a party of sevenWe went as a party of seven with 2 small kids and everything was excellent. We shared all entrees and got the pizza for the young ones. The mozzarella appetizer was our favorite.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
