  • "The food was good but the noise coming from the bar was a bit much."

  • "Wont go back. We selected the 'restaurant' on a friend's recommendation. I made the reservation for 7:00 and asked for a nice table because it was our anniversary. We were seated at a table that was extremely small. When I asked another table the next size up were all taken and they wouldn't seat us in a booth since it sat more than 2 people. We were given bread and olive oil and glasses of water. When our soup came there was little room to put the rather large (in surface) bowls on the table. The soup was very good. I'm not going to get into our waitress. The noise level was too loud. By 8:00 we could not hear each other. Our meals came (large plates) and had to clear the table so there was room for the plates. I've run out of room.."

  • "Had lunch and a one on one meeting with my sales rep. Big tables, casual atmosphere. We did not drink alcohol, but the bar looked great. Numerous wide screens and a area with couches and comfortable chairs. Food was very good and service very polite and prompt. It's definitely a great place for a business lunch or drinks after work with your staff."

  • "I think the restaurant has a lot of potential once the regular dining room will be opened in the near future. I love the Grilled Caesar Salad - best one I've had!"

  • "My wife had been to this restaurant with her book club on a Monday night and suggested we go back for a Friday dinner date. It was easy getting a reservation on short notice at prime time (hmmm). The establishment is dominatd by the bar and the minute we walked in we could not hear ourselves think and the sound did not diminish the entire time we were there. The service was very slow to start and we had to flag down the manager to get served. When the server did come she was friendly and tried to be attentive, but the slow service continued thougout the meal and I suspect they were short staffed as the manager cleared our plates at one point. The food was nothing special nor was the decor. We will not return."

  • "While the ambiance is nice; I wouldn't call the place romantic. It has a very nice size bar. It is definitely a good spot to go after work and a good neighborhood place. My only complaint - which is more of a suggestion- is they need to offer some scaled back offerings on their dinner menu. Sometimes I just don't want a FULL meal for dinner - I want a sandwich...so it would be nice to offer a scaled back version on the dinner menu. What we have tried has exceeded my expectations. The crab cakes (pretty good); Gruyere salmon (very good - highly recommend); bibb salad (good); coffee rubbed sirloin (very good); steamed edamame (very good). We brought half our dinners home for dinner the following day - the portions are very large."

  • "Good food. Great service. A little loud for my tastes. The bar and restaurant are only separated by a half-wall. There is no barrier for the noise."

  • "We had a great time at TT we have been there before and had a good experience. The service was on spot. Our food was prepared perfectly and served fresh and hot. It was a busy night and the service and food were great. The bar was busy also but even with a busy bar the noise level was not bothersome."

  • "We took our son and one of his friends to dinner for our son's birthday. He picked the restaurant, having been there once before for another friends birthday. There were a lot of booths open when we came in but they gave us a table a little on the small side and said the booths were reserved for groups of 6. The service was good but the food was fair, especially for the prices. We took our time and as we were leaving, we noticed that only 2 of the booths had 6 people, 1 had only 2 diners and the rest either 3 or 4. Guess you have to know someone to get a comfortable place to sit. We won't be back."

  • "We went to the Towson Tavern because of their participation in restaurant week. When we arrived, we were told it was only for dinner. Disappointed but we stayed and ate lunch. It was my friend's birthday and she really wanted to come here. Food was good, service wasn't as good as it could have been because the restaurant got busy, busier than I expected I suppose. Overall, good food but they should have honored restaurant week menu. Why participate if only for a portion of the day?"

  • "Six of us visited during restaurant week and throughly enjoyed our meal. The tater tots appetizer was huge! Our entrees were all good and the desserts were great. I had a huge piece of delicious cheesecake. Our one small complaint was the bread: a loaf we had to slice and share with one plate of oil for the whole table. Awkward to share. But overall we would all recommend Towson Tavern."

  • "We often eat at the bar in this, Towson's best "fine-dining" establishment. Tori at the bar is one of the best, and we always have perfect service and great food. Whether we stop in for a drink on our way somewhere else, after a tennis match or go with friends for lunch or dinner, Towson Tavern does not disappoint. Consist, top-notch service along with food from gastro-pub to fine dining makes this a winner in Towson."

  • "Food was outstanding. The meat and cheese tray appetizers were great as were the spinach and Caesar salad and tots. The spare rib and salmon were great entrees Only down side was the noise from the bar was deafening. Valet parking is an added benefit"

  • "I dined at Towson Tavern with 2 other friends during Baltimore Restaurant Week & the food, service & atmosphere were well worth it. Our waitress was excellent. She came to the table for drink orders within a few minutes of being seated. She explained the Restaurant Week Menu & made several suggestions. One of my friends ordered a drink that she was unsure of & our server reassured her that if she didn't like it that she would get her something else. Our food portions were large & very tasty. I would definitely return. This restaurant was great for watching football from almost any table. There were plenty of tvs & they were on various stations."

  • "I had received a gift card for Towson Tavern and decided to try it out. We went on the first night of the Baltimore County Restaurant Week. No problem getting a reservation. The service was great; the food was exceptional. I had the best Short ribs I have ever had in Baltimore. The Lentil soup was also delicious. My wife had a tenderloin, that was cooked perfectly. The desserts, chocolate mousse/cheesecake were great as well. My wife and I can't wait to go back, probably later this week."

  • "Came for Restaurant week on 1/11. The edamame was grossly overcooked and the tater tots tasted like standard tots from the grocers. However the steak and burger were cooked to perfection and quite tasty. The brussels sprouts that accompanied were undercooked and not hot upon arrival to the table. Wait staff were friendly and attentive, but unfortunately this does not make up for the food."

  • "Thank you for participating in Restaurant Week. Your menu was creative and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious. Spike, our server, was wonderful – saw to our every need. Valet parking is really appreciated. The evening would have been perfect except for the noise level. It was difficult to have a conversation."

  • "As to how good the food is at Towson Tavern! Folks that opened it came from Capital Grill and it shows. The meats are excellent quality and are prepared just as ordered. My wife and friend had lamb which they said was excellent. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and had great taste. Sides of fingerling potatoes, brussel sprouts and turnips with maple glaze were very good indeed. Only one minor complaint - the dessert selection is very limited. Service on our visits very good as well."

  • "I finally had the opportunity to dine at the Towson Tavern, and I now wish I had done it sooner. What a great addition to Towson! We sat at the bar before our dinner reservations. Friendly bartenders, and the chocolate martinis are Yummy! We were seated at a small table for two for dinner. Very vibrant atmosphere, but a perfect place for a romantic dinner or with a small group of friends. The food was outstanding, service was prompt, without feeling rushed. The menu has a little bit of everything to offer, and a nice mix of selections. I had the Caprese salad to start, and the Chipotle rubbed Sirloin. All prepared perfectly."

  • "This was our 10th visit to Towson Tavern. We had 6 in our party this time. The new menu is quite good. We had the hummus plate to start, very good. The entrees were prepared very well, my filet was perfect. Ariell was our server, we have had her before. Very good service. Good drinks, adequate wine list, for us anyway. pricing is reasonable, good value IMO. The one thing we don't like, and this is a minor issue, are booths, but no big deal. The valet parking is great!"

  • "6:30 reservation. Seated promptly. Good (the only good thing of the evening). Noise level was so loud (and multiple tvs - must we have tv in restaurants??) that we stopped talking among ourselves. Awful. Waitress took order. We waited. And waited. She continued to return to tell us that it would only be a few more minutes. Finally, the manager came to the table and told us that the order had been lost and that it was just being cooked (and, because one of us ordered beef, it would take another 15-20 mins). BUT, wisely, he told us that we would not be charged for the food. Food (no appetizers, btw) arrived at 8pm. We won't return."

  • "Very noisy though. The sheet-metal ceilings (along the booths) and the wood ceilings every where else do not make for good acoustics!!! Lots of fun though and it quieted down some as the evening progressed and the crowd thinned out some. Very nice."

  • "Towson Tavern was the perfect venue to catch up with old friends while visiting the Baltimore area. From the free valet parking to the creative menu to the atmosphere, we managed to find a gem. The waitstaff was attentive without hovering and very familiar with the drink and menu offerings. Suggestions from our waiter were spot on. Tables were spaced to give adequate elbow room to your neighbor. The menu was inventive without being weird. Foodies will love the menu. Looking forward to a return trip our next visit to Towson."

  • "This night started with free valet parking (and a friendly valet staff). The table was a small 2top very close to the neighboring tables. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Our server took a very long time to get to the table and was Not particularly friendly. She was polite and wrote down our order correctly But seemed upset at something (perhaps because we didn't get the most expensive Entrees). My ahi tuna with quinoa was beautifully plated and tasted delicious. I will Definitely come back but will try to get a different server."

  • "I don't think there are enough fun, casual, and good-food restaurants in the Towson/Timonium area. And I think others would agree, by how busy Towson Tavern was when we went there last Friday. They have valet parking and the staff was very nice. The tables for two were a little small and it was a tad noisy, but I had no problem hearing my friend and everyone seemed to be having fun. I will go back again."
