"Townhouse is convenient in the west loop. The restaurant is light and bright, and the service is good. I classified the noise as moderate - there are plenty of people dining, but it is still very possible to carry on a conversation at your table. I have eaten here twice since they changed their menu. The first time I ordered a salad, and was very disappointed with it. The second time I ordered a different salad, and was also disappointed with it. I believe my dining mates were pleased with their burgers, and loved their sweet potato fries. I may try it a third time and order something else."

"Very loud. On Friday night, there's a weird overlap between the after work for a drink crowd and the before theater crowd. Way to noisy to enjoy dinner, but the food and service were good."

"We were running late and needed to finish dinner in time for the opera. The hostess notified our waiter and they got us served in plenty of time. Food was okay but nothing special. The place was quite full for a Thursday night, probably people who work in the building or nearby."

"I went with a group from work, having made lunch reservations. They took forever to seat us - I had to ask what the hold up was. Turns out they were waiting for the other two people since our res was for 6. Reasonable, I guess - but better if they had communicated that.

So, we get seated, and we are 5. We get a bar area table, not great. The bartender is our waiter. He is friendly enough, but not adept at getting our order in front of the cook - we wait 30 minutes for our food. So it's now 12:50, we have ten minutes left, and the food shows.

It's pretty good, actually, but nothing special - all the sandwiches come with big piles of thin greasy fries.

Overall? This is a slightly classy version of a greasy burger joint. What saves it"

"The Townhouse have some major structural issues and noise diffusing. The ceilings do not buffer the sound.The service was slow and indifferent. A drink was spilled on me and all that was done was the drink was taken off the tab. I expected a little more.The server was so slow we had to run to the Opera house to make the performance by 7:30. We sat down at the restaurant at 6 and were ready to order off the price fixed menue by 6:15.That is plenty of time to order and eat. The food was nothing great either.This experience reinforces the idea of cooking at home."
