Towne Stove and SpiritsLoved towne!Amazing restaurant. Great ambience. Went with a group of 10 girls ... We ordered appetizers and sparkling wine for the table... Everything was absolutely delicious and wonderful. Would go again!6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved TowneWhat a great experience. From the host staff to our excellent waiter, Bruce, the experience at Towne was perfect. We started with the lobster pop-overs and the scallion pancakes with duck, all of which was wonderful. One suggestion, especially with lobster being a bargain, would be to have at least three pop-overs to an order.
Our dinner entries were both tasty and fun. I had the whole branzino and while I was surprised at the size of the fish (small compared to past experiences at other establishments) it was delicious. My party enjoyed the Salmon and the skirt steak, all of which they enjoyed.
Towne is a bit pricy but a great dining experience.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA FUN SPOTThree bars. Young crowd. Great service and a very good food choices. Overall - four stars.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFun for FoodiesEven though it was a little noisy, Towne has a great atmosphere, perfect location in Back Bay, attentive service and most important great food!!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMJust one complaint. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Towne. Service was excellent. Honored our choice of location and table as requested. Good wine list. Portion sizes were very inconsistent.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night at Town Stove & SpiritsMy wife and I celebrated our 14th anniversary at Town Stove. We had never been there but walked away with a very positive experience. The bar scene was quite vibrant and the restaurant offered excellent inside and outside seating options. It was a warm night so we sat outside. The service level was very strong. The food was solid- wood grilled steaks were fantastic. I did find it a tad overpriced as the steaks were in the $38-$42 range and everything was a la carte. Being our anniversary they brought us out a dessert on the house which added to the overall positive experience. I would recommend this place to someone looking to try somewhere new on Boylston St.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Boston Local restaurant. ..Nice place. Staff were very friendly. We went there for dinner and the food is excellent... It may look pricey from the menu but the food is worth the price5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeWe visit Boston regularly and have tried dozens of eateries in Back Bay. Towne is now our go-to restaurant for every occasion. Great selection, creative preparation, and always delicious. The service is delightful.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe tuna was fabulous - withThe tuna was fabulous - with a sweet potatoe purée.
We sat in the back bar and had an enjoyable meal - it was busy but we could easily have a conversation.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMtrendy spot with good foodTowne has a two lively bars downstairs, and dining upstairs with an open kitchen in the rear. The food is very creative and mostly very good, especially the fish and seafood!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, vibrant scene very closeGood, vibrant scene very close to the Back Bay hotels. The bar area seemed like a great place to meet up with friends and there were tables filled with larger groups throughout the restaurant although it was also a good atmosphere for couples. The food was great (we enjoyed the tuna and lobster) and they provide an ample serving of various breads while you wait for your food. We arrived early and they were able to seat us right away. The server visited with us often and we were in and out of there in less than an hour. We would definitely go back next time we are visiting Boston.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been here many timesWe have been here many times and the food tonight was the best it has ever been. Presentations were beautiful and everything was perfectly cooked. The chicken, corn, and chipotle flatbread was excellent, just an undertone of spice, not overpowering, just right. The only thing we don't like about this restaurant is the noise level. It is deafening and really hard to have a conversation.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, surprising atmosphereWe were there at noon on Sunday for my birthday. Most people were sitting outside when we arrived and the dining room was kind of empty, which was weird. We are big brunch fans, so always looking for upbeat, fun places to drink a lot. Towne is my favorite resto at night, but the brunch crowd was really subdued. Were we there too early?? Was everyone else hungover? The food was delicious, so the only thing that was slightly off was the atmosphere. Perhaps it was an odd day. We're used to South End brunch which is hopping at 11:30am. It eventually did pick up. My friend, for whom it was his first time having brunch at Towne, declared it the best place for brunch food.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous meal at Towne thisFabulous meal at Towne this past Friday. We were seated upstairs, where the open kitchen was fun to watch in action. Quite busy, with the bar in full swing and the outside patio crowded since it was a gorgeous night. Lydia Shire was making the rounds, stopping at every table, which we found really impressive. She recommended the lobster popovers for an appetizer, and they were outstanding - 2 on a plate - perfect for sharing. I got the strip steak, which was perfectly cooked, and my friend ordered the chicken which she loved. We both ordered a side of sauteed spinach, and the waiter very wisely just brought one to share - explaining that he thought it would be enough for us - and he was right. Pear cake for dessert was to die for!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant! This was my first time dining at Towne and is was very good. We were a party of five and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. We ordered crispy veg. spring rolls, pork dumplings, and heirloom salad to share. I had chilean sea bass for entree and friend ordered tomahawk steak(which I got to try). Both cooked to perfection and very tasty. Food was not so exceptional in the way of feeling like, "this is the best I have tasted." However, everything was consistently good and cooked to perfection. Right down to the panna cotta. Also, staff was great! I will definitely go back!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome mealExtraordinary meal. Ahi was perfectly cooked, rare, and had an incredible crust, with sweet potatoe. My friend had the halibut and brussel sprouts which were also delicious. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, wait staff appropriately attentive. Will return soon.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome place for all !We were in " Towne" for my daughters graduation and went to the Towne the night before for a special dinner . I arrived early and had to wait a few minutes for a table, no big deal. I stopped at the upstairs bar. The bartender was very helpful. He made a very good drink and offered me some great advice on several things that were on the menu. We were seated and our server was friendly and attentive. The food was great! Perfectly cooked with great flavor. I will go here again.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLove their brunch. The lobsterLove their brunch. The lobster and avocado eggs Benedict are to die for.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love doing the brunch hereWe love doing the brunch here at Towne. The little donuts and muffins are always a yummy treat and a great way to start off the dining experience. I opted for lunch this time. The ham of the ham & cheese was melt in your mouth, but not too visibly recognizable as ham. The sweet potato fries were fabulous and done to perfection. My partners entree of chicken and waffles was huge and delicious. We have not had dinner here due to its high prices, but we will continue to indulge in their brunch.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to Towne a few timesI've been to Towne a few times for brunch and for dinner, and I have always had a good experience.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved the food, decor andWe loved the food, decor and service. Restaurant week offerings were sparse, so ordered from the regular menu. Lunch for two-$85 with glass of wine, lunch, dessert each. Food was good but not great. Service was excellent. It was not too busy. Probably return only for special occasion. Many restaurant choices in Boston that I feel offer better value.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDON'T MISS TOWNE!!Great great place for food, drinks and fun. Hurry GO!!!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA great happening place withA great happening place with excellent food and service. Don't go if you want a quiet romantic meal as its quite noisy.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great, it wasEverything was great, it was just very noisy. There was music playing and people were not just talking, they were yelling. Noisy is fine but with people yelling over the music and each other, it was too loud.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAll good! The restaurant week lunch menu was great, and the food was SO delicious! I'm told that the drinks are excellent, so I will be back!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMService was exceptional andService was exceptional and staff worked to be sure food was on time due to short lunch schedule during PLRB training. Great atmosphere, food, and service. We come here everytime we visit Boston. This time, we made reservations two weeks in advance but for some reason when we got there, there was no table ready for us. It was a little frustrating, especially because we were really hungry. However, the staff made it work and then sent us a free lobster pizza! We were more than happy and very impressed with the pizza as well! Delicious!! Thanks Towne!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWent during restaurant weekWent during restaurant week and had a fantastic dinner. The steak is amazingly tender and cooked perfectly, the clam chowder to start was great and the dark chocolate mousse was the perfect end. Would go back just for the skirt steak.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
