Towne House Restaurant at Wine & RosesLived up to it's nameThis is a destination restaurant in the San Joaquin Valley. If you consider yourself a epicurean, don't miss this place. Overall a great dinning experience on all levels.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary dinnerMy husband and I had a wonderful evening on the patio this past Saturday evening. Ambience is romantic... Oak tress litght up at night. Food was Delish had to ask what a few words meant. Started with the ahi tartare. To die for! The beet salad was fresh and light. Hubby had the endive and pear salad. Service was good Exocet they took our forks away twice and didn't bring them back inbeteen courses we waited for them while food sat in front of us. Entrees were flavorful and chef even modified my hubby Mac n cheese so he could have his favorite pt bue Reyes. I had short ribs and it was decadent. Decent wine list lost of local options. We went to the bar & listened to a wonderful pianist. It took awhile for anyone to bring us a menu for drink5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting for an outdoorBeautiful setting for an outdoor meal, service was excellent,. Food was very good, but menu was a little standard, but that may reflect what customers are accustomed to or expect in Lodi.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming. The food was wonderfulCharming. The food was wonderful and the scenery scrumptious. Rose bushes everywhere! Very comfortable for business lunch or casualy with good friends.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI ate my birthday brunch atI ate my birthday brunch at Wine & Roses. As always, the atmosphere and service were outstanding. I was a little underwhelmed with the menu. For brunch I thought there would be a greater variety or a few truly outstanding dishes. A year ago, I had my anniversary lunch at Wine & Roses where I ate the most beautiful shrimp and mango salad I've ever had. My garden omelet this year was rather ordinary in comparison. My husband had a burger which was special and good. Our friends had the crab cake (small but very tasty) and a salad with sandwich. The salad was very large and plain, the sandwich was great though. So, I would say I loved the experience as always, but was disappointed in the food choices, portion size and quality.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Towne House atWe went to Towne House at Wine & Roses to celebrate a birthday, which happened to fall on Easter. We felt like we were somewhere other than Lodi. The grounds are beautiful! Before being seated, we walked in to someone playing soothing music on the piano. The service was great and food was delicious, especially the vegan cauliflower soup.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday DateWe find the food, service, and atmosphere to be consistently very good. This was our fist visit since the name changed to Towne House Restaurant, and we found the experience very good. We chose to dine outside and it was a perfect spring morning for outdoor dining. This was our third time for brunch, and found the menu options even broader than before. There is food for everyone's tastes, from traditional brunch items to specialty items, like smoked salmon flatbread pizza. We ordered three menu items and wine by the glass and were well satisfied. Our server was attentive without hovering, and made sure our wine, water, and coffee were refreshed on a regular basis. We'll be back for sure.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went there for my birthday. We went there for my birthday. Our first time; even though we're not new to the area. we were greeted by several employees as we walked in. In fact, one of the ladies saw us approaching, and opened the door for us. Very nice.
Sat at the bar for a drink before dinner. the bartender gave me a tasts of a white-chocolate martini she'd made. I ordered one for my dessert, and it was fantastic.
Great soup(tortilla)/dinner/rolls/wine. Will definitely go back. B&L3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and great atmosphereExcellent food and great atmosphere amidst all the trees. Service was excellent as well.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMStill Superb & SumptuousLiving near SF, means enjoying Towne House is a rare treat, but one we always schedule whenever we're remotely close. Towne House is a wonderful restaurant in all respects: food, ambiance, service, creative menu, delicious regional wines. Would we drive to Lodi just for lunch or dinner? No. But if you live in/near Lodi and don't go to Towne House (indeed, frequently), you are missing something special. And yes, the "new" chef deserves high marks & praise for keeping Towne House "up there." It's a place and experience you must enjoy!
PS: The table of four next to us had diners with special dietary needs/preferences so the chef happily came out to their table to discuss customizing their lunches, making sure all was suitable!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was wonderful & ourThe food was wonderful & our friends really enjoyed it also. R waitress was very nice3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as alwaysWe were there for lunch for Dad's birthday. As always, the food and service were excellent. Indoor and outdoor dining are available. Our table was near the door, open to outside, perfect. The view of the garden in full bloom was spectacular, and we enjoyed a nice walk around the grounds after lunch. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The special cauliflower soup had an exotic flavor, very good. Salads were fresh. This restaurant is a gem, worthy of a destination meal.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and good serviceGood food and good service make for an excellent dining experience11/18/2012 12:00:00 AM
