  • "This is a very good resto cause of the ambiance and the late night music great food"

  • "The food was nothing special - merely adequate, although the menu items were varied and looked very interesting. I expect more for the price. Wine was also expensive. A bottle of California wine that sells for $8 south of the border cost $45. As far as ambiance, if the music was more suited to dining rather than head-banging techno 'house' music, maybe more people would enjoy their overall dining experience."

  • "Disappointed with the server. We actually order a bottle of white wine and when he brought us a glass of red and a glass of white instead he didn't even care. He seemed on medication or under the influence a bit. Unfortunately. I will not be going back."

  • "Food was great, the waiters even better. Very attentive and helpful. I asked for something that wasn't on the menu and they accomodated gladly. Would recommend."

  • "2 orders the same appetizer&course.after getting our bottle of wine he would pour our wine like fish bowls.our course arrives Where's the appetizer?he says he forgot to place the order!so he ask us do we still want the order,we say yes. he comes with only 1 of the 2 appetizers? We say we ordered 2,"oh I didn't know".we eat our "steak tartare"what a disaster! It's a raw hambuger steak that they serve you!didn't eat half of it was so disgusting.I tell my useless waiter that this isn't proper tartar.didn't seem to care.as I am still clearly eating my apetizer,he asks if I'm still working on it?I don't understant how this venue is still in business, the service was horrible, you'd think the manager would come and apologize for his dumb waiter-NO!"

  • "I have been going to TH for many years. I find their food very good, the waiters/waitresses are very friendly and helpful, and the ambience is very nice (love those chandeliers). Friday nights, they turn the bar area of the restaurant into more of a bit of a dance area with a DJ and all. So it does get loud after 10PM when the DJ takes over. But since Fridays is busy generally, it's fine. I wouldn't expect it to be quiet. And, they have amazing lemon drop martinis!"

  • "The vegetarian pizza was very good with its fresh ingredients. The place was a little too louad because of its high ceiling. I would recommend it mostly for groups."

  • "Good place for special occasion, Nice plate creative set-up Tasty cuisine Very good service Extensive wine list Lots of space There was a few large groups which increase the sound level but nothing to prevent us from enjoying our dinner Server was attentive, brought to our table 2 birthday cake for my children who where celebrating there 19 and 21 birthday. Recommand, specialy for people in westisland who do not want to go downtown"

  • "Had Val Day dinner at Towne Hall. First time at restaurant for me. Had requested a booth when I made the reservation, and received a call from the restaurant a couple days before to tell me it would be impossible as they were going to be so busy...i thought this was a very nice touch and is a good thing to set expectations so we wouldnt be dissapointed when we arrived. Ordered from the special Val Day menu, and the food was excellent. Salmon tartar was very tasty and the filet mignon (requested 'rare') was cooked perfectly. My partner had the lobster ravioli and was also impressed. Cheesecake for dessert was tasty (although very sweet). Service was friendly and pretty efficient. All in all, a very pleasant experience on a very busy night."

  • "Decor and ambiance are great, not very vegetarian friendly since they removed one of the dishes off the menu. You can now have pizza or pasta. I would say it is a bit expensive for that type of meal"

  • "Best fish dishes I have had in the West Island. Decor is stunning. Good menu. All dishes were great. A definite revisit."

  • "We ordered the burger, the lobster ravioli, the spring rolls and melon/prosciutto starter. The burger was salty, the ravioli was nice and soft with a decent tasting sauce. The spring rolls were very average. Overall the ambiance is great, the drinks are strong and made with premium alcohol, but the food is not quite worth the price."

  • "I come here regularly . Service is generally fair to very good depending on who you get. I went when the rest. was buzzing with holiday parties. It took 15 min to be seated. The hostess was polite, smiling, and made an effort to chat & keep me updated on the status of my table Kudos Our server was another story. He did not impress me when I asked what aperitifs and teas were available. He replied both times, " what would u like?"When I replied, they didn't have it. I was in no mood for a guessing game. It is not up to me to recall what that restaurant stocks. He did not deserve the 17% tip for otherwise average service Even if the food was good , in spite of the busy night. ( thumbs up to the chefs ), I left with a bad taste in my mouth"

  • "Little sister to 40 Westt - Towne Hall has affordable and interesting dishes in a very chic and bustling atmosphere - the booths are little oases if you want a quieter experience, the bar area is more boisterous. A great place for both lunch or a romantic evening."

  • "Food and service were great. Noise level so so high at first that we considered going somewhere else. When asked, they lowered the music whcih made it better. Large office parties are very noisy and this did not help make it a quiet evening."

  • "They always have numerous selections for lunch which includes dessert & coffee"

  • "Went to Towne Hall table for 2, and had pre-mentioned that it was my guest's 21st birthday. We had 2 drinks from the bar which were mixed, and very good, and then 2 orders of the salmon tartare...which I thought was a bit bland...it's been better.....the bread that came to the table, the garlic bread they normally bring, was burnt blackish pretty much and super chewy...not really edible....but then the chicken tagliatele was very good and spinach salad with side of chicken was excellent.....for the birthday girl, they gave us a slice of dolce de lece cheesecake which was super good, very sweet, so we shared it....but I suppose they could have offered it free like most restaurants...instead they charged $9 for it, which was a bit ridiculous."

  • "The food was OK - not horrible and not amazing! The service was fine and our waiter had a great personality (I love that he was doing shots at another table!!). The only drawback is that it was super loud - we were out with some folks that we didn't know very well and trying to converse was a real problem. Lots of really large groups and super high ceilings! I found this resto on Open Table (we are from Toronto) and we were staying on West Island otherwise I would definitely have headed to downtown Montreal for amazing food!"

  • "This was our first time at Towne Hall. We were looking for something on the West Island and this was perfect. Nice decor and quite large inside. Also a nice outdoors patio. Plenty of free parking. Although the restaurant was not busy when we arrived, it took much longer than it should have to for our waiter to take our initial drink orders. After that things went smoothly and service was great. The manager checked on us a couple of times and kept on top of things. Overall food variety and quality were great. We would go back again given the opportunity."

  • "We each had the Nicoise Salad...which was tasty and not overdone with salad dressing. The Appetizers of soup and beet Carpaccio were also good. The dessert was lovely and not overpowering. What will take me back is the exceptional service by Kristin."

  • "I could not get over listening to (I think it would be called) Techno music throughout supper. For me it ruined the supper. Having no vegetables with my meal (some shaved onion and beets), was something I found hard to get over. I had calamari for an appetizer, was excellent, lamb for a main and was excellent. She had mussels for an appetizer a large plate that was good and veal for a main that she found just okay. Somehow it seamed overpriced for the overall meal and ambiance."

  • "As always WOW!!! Thank you Billy and the entire staff at Towne Hall restaurant for taking great care of us! Appreciate the attention to detail, and exquisite food! Had a great time! A must try for anyone in and around Montreal. Worth the drive if you are not in the west-island but if you are, warning…. This will quickly become your newest hangout. What an amazing place! Just love it!"

  • "I had the filet mignon and I have to say it was absolutely delicious, my husband loved his gnocchi with shrimp and scallops. The waitress was helpful and very sweet, however we waited way too long before anyone came to see us at our table. I hated the busboys royal blue polo.. really, it looked cheap and way to bright and it needs to go. lol"
