A word from Town Hall - DC
Town Hall has relocated to 2340 Wisconsin Avenue NW in the heart of Glover Park. We provide a warm, comfortable neighborhood experience combining the quality and sophistication of American bistro fare with the relaxed atmosphere of a neighborhood tavern. Secluded booths in the dining room cater to the family looking for bit of well-groomed respite, while flat-screen televisions line the bar for the sports minded individual. Weekend nights also attract a fashionable crowd looking to escape the trappings of the established DC nightlife. Come springtime, we also open our large courtyard for unrivaled outdoor dining in midst of the city.

Town Hall is located ¾ mile from the heart of Georgetown but is worlds away. Avoid the congestion and bustle of Georgetown and take advantage of our relaxed atmosphere in our friendly, inviting neighborhood.

We chose Town Hall both because of location (on our way home from downtown) and because of some good reviews that indicated it was a nice american bistro. As soon as we pulled up, we 2nd guessed our decision. There were groups of college kids out front and loud conversation and giant screen tvs airing sports games could be seen/heard through the open windows. We asked for a quiet area to have our meal and the 2 of us were seated in a GIANT booth big enough for at least 6 people - though quieter, it felt very isolating and it was difficult to get our servers attention. Needless to say, the ambiance wasn't the most appealing. Our waitress was nice. The food and drinks were good but not really outstanding.

Food is nothing special; maybe a step or two above Denny's. Hash browns were soggy and tasteless. Based on clientele I guess the attraction is fairly cheap food and large bar and patio out back. Definitely better for a college crowd.

The menu for brunch was good, nice choices for eggs etc. However if you are not up for brunch - our friend wanted something non brunch and the choices were limited. But all in all it is a good choice for an American style restuarant.

It starts at the door...staff is smiling and you get a sense it's a community place not a chain deal. The owners are local guys who grew up in the trade...and it shows! Great rear patio and lots of nice "sites". The food is great and the menu changes periodically which I enjoy seeing. They also test the menu at their other restaurant Sixth Engine on Mass Ave near 4th st NW

Three girlfriends and I met for brunch this past weekend at Town Hall. We may have been on the late side (1:00) but we were the only party dining downstairs. It seems the restaurant is more crowded and livelier in the evening? The food was quite good; three of us ordered the special omelette.

We were looking for an early dinner on a Friday night and made a reservation for 4 at Town Hall. Because it was earlier, it was still very quiet. We shared a quick appetizer, and each had a delicious dinner. The menu was pretty standard, but the food was a delicious and interesting variation.

In a world where most moderately-priced restaurants provide a veneer of attention to detail and customer-care, this place shines. Our brunch entrees were lovely, well-prepared and tasty. Mine was below piping hot, so I summoned our waiter. The response was solicitous and professional. It seemed a matter of personal pride for both waiter and manager (who appeared with new entree within minutes) that the food at Town Hall is never served below their own high standards. The added (and unnecessary) offer of a comped dessert and coffee is rarely encountered in mid-priced establishments. By the way, my order was a very original presentation of huevos rancheros, with crisp, freshly fried hot corn tortillas layered between the eggs and beans. Yum.

This is a casual restaurant. Nice brick facade, layout, and bar. We ordered two three appetizers, the Tartare, chips and onion dip, and brie. The brie which I am not normally a huge fan of, was quite good. The tartare had a great guacamole with the tuna. While this isn't unusual, their creation of the guacamole and seasoning of the tartare was quite good. The chips were good, but the dip was not to the taste of myself or my guest. But it was clearly well made. Recommended.

I didn't really care for this place, I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. I had the porkchop, it was huge and the apples on top were piping hot, the porkchop was luke warm. The goat cheese mac and cheese was a little dry for me, not bad but nothing spectacular. My boyfriend had the chicken. The vegetables were really food, but the chicken could have used more seasoning. Ambiance had a few too many college crowd folks for me, and my boyfriend felt uncomfortable. Average food, ok ambiance-- just too many options in DC to come back here.

My husband and I ate here with two other couples in the outdoor bar area. Best seating in the house when the weather cooperates. We had excellent service and pretty good food considering this place is really primarily a bar . I had an excellent burger and fries. The goat cheese mac and cheese is out of sight. Avoid the fried oysters. For me the right setting is 95% of the experience.

Went here for brunch last Sunday. The food here was terrific. The drinks were delicious. Our server, Derek, was fantastic. The only downside was the helicopter manager that observed so much of our meal that it made my friend uncomfortable enough to say something about it to our waiter. I'd probably suggest a more subtle way for management to observe their patrons and waitstaff. Perhaps engage them in conversation instead of creepily observing every move.

Very hospitable staff, wonderful patio for outdoor dining and a nice selection of solid brunch items. The "Eggs in the Middle" was a little heavy on the bread while light on the egg, but the home fries were amazing. The Huevos could use some work on increasing its zestiness. The white omlet was a hit, light but filled with flavor.

It was good, American bistro food in a nice place. Unfortunately we picked a night where there apparently was some sort of special event going on, and the place was packed with loud, irritating college-age kids that tweaked the experience a bit. The beer list was not particularly long, but it had quality beers. Good variety of house cocktails as well. We shared the D.C. Rolls as an appetizer, they were slightly underwhelming. The entrees were all satisfying, with the Catfish Sandwich being particularly tasty and filling. Nice place in a nice area, would've liked to spend more of the night there, too bad about the loud, entitled clowns.

We had a new waitress so she was not very informed about the menu. My mother cannot eat spicy food and asked what was in the chimichurri viniagrette but the waitress knew it was a 'hot' sauce. She meant temperature-wise, not spicy. She made an ordeal out of bringing out our steak knives. She brought out my mother's, on a tray (with others), then walked away only to come back a few minutes later with mine. Kind of strange. I ordered the Duroc pork chop (I had a gift certificate and had to spend $100) but wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. It was a little too rare for me. I would suggest that the wait staff taste the food before giving recommendations.

I ordered the portabello burger and wondered, as I do about most every bar burger, how I'm expected to get my mouth around it. In fact I took one whole mushroom off and abandoned it. Way more than necessary. Looked to be the case with the rest of the entrees round our table as well. Food was all good enough, but perhaps not as good as the Town Hall of yore. And I don't remember such gigantic portions before either. Less would be more. . ... Otherwise we enjoy going here. On the other hand, if you're starving, this is the place for you.
