Oysters, hush puppies, breaded and fried okra, combined with a great selection of salads and entrees made dinner selections a challenge. The service was attentive, but not overly so. The combination of various spices rendered the halibut a distinctive treat. I particularly enjoyed the hush puppies because they were prepared without sugar and did not taste like cake. I had the trout, she had the pork chops. We both were very pleased and impressed with our choices. The location was perfect for BART and the Yerba Buena center (or the Ball Park). I loved the old brick historic feel. We were late getting through traffic; the hostess was very accommodating and saved our table. By the time we arrived we only had time for entrees and wine since we had tickets to Jersey Boys. The waitress was fantastic-worked with the kitchen to serve us in 15 minutes. She also offered up a great wine recommendation...the Peay Pinot. Great atmosphere, hip decor, delicious fried chicken and trout, outstanding service. It was wonderful to see that all the great things I like about this restaurant did not change. The food is decadent and the service is outstanding. I was thrilled to see the Town Hall burger was still on the lunch menu. I ordered it with bleu cheese, bacon and avocado to boot and it's just how I remembered it.
