Toulouse Petit Kitchen & LoungeGreat for pre-show dinnersWe always love coming here before a concert or show - great prix fixe menu and the food is always fantastic. The servers are often rather grumpy and slow, but that never seems to keep the crowds away. And the food is what always keeps us coming back.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food & atmosphere! My family from Vancouver visited Seattle for the first time in a while. My boyfriend and I chose to bring them to Toulouse Petit for dinner. We got our table right away since I reserved it. Our food was so good that everyone already talked about coming here again. It was very enjoyable. Our server was nice too. One of the servers brought us extra bread for the mussel, which was really nice.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFood to die forOh my God, the food! Their selection was wonderful. I tend to dine with picky eaters, but there was something on the menu for everyone. I had the jumbo prawns, crawfish, and andouille sausage over creamy corn grits. PERFECTION! I can't wait to go back and try something else, because it all looked good. I believe the owner was the one who actually served us our appetizer - which was a really nice touch. Good food, good price, good atmosphere. I'm going to find any excuse to go back. Only thing that wasn't as stellar was the wait time on our drinks - took a little longer than I expected, but really, it's not that big a deal.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed this place.I really enjoyed this place. I ordered from the $39 3 course from around 20 choices. I loved every bite and wondered if they had a garden in the back since it was so fresh. The style is New Orleans flavor meats Paris sophistication. They had live music on the Sunday I visited. It was fun but pretty loud. Great place that I will be back too soon.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat except for the volume!Meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The noise level was way too loud though--we found it required an effort to converse with our friends and be heard.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways good!We have been to Toulouse Petit many times and it is always consistent and very good. We highly recommend.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMIt never fails. As usual when at Toulouse Petit, I had to be satisfied with three courses instead of the half-dozen that I'd LIKE to order, at the risk of being ridiculously over-full. But also as usual, my choices were excellent. The crawfish beignets were savory and perfect as a starter for two people. The Cajun meatloaf was exactly my idea of what meatloaf should be -- spicy and substantial without being overly dense. And the dessert beignets were sweet and chewy (pretty good for breakfast too!). Toulouse Petit continues to be a place that I can always count on for a very enjoyable dining experience.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMYou must go here!I discovered this gem of a restaurant about 2 years ago when I was visiting Seattle. The food, drinks and staff were all fantastic, even with an incredibly packed house that night. My Dad is 75 and loved the vibe of the place and still talks to me about the grits!
I recently dined at Toulouse Petit again, this time with co-workers and clients. I had hyped up the place to everyone and kept my fingers crossed that it hadn't lost any of it's charm and quality. I didn't think it was possible, but it got better! Our entire table was raving about the food, sharing bites off of each others plates and blissfully sipping on wonderfully paired wine.
I will eat at Toulouse Petit every time I'm in Seattle. I look forward to trying brunch next time.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good, asideThe food was very good, aside from the lamb ragu, it wasn't my favorite. It is very loud and you kind of have to yell everything, but the service was great. I did not like the table we were at, it seemed more like a table that was place in a spot that wasn't supposed to be there. Overall, I would of liked to be in a more intimate part of the restaurant, but the food was good and we look forward to trying some more dishes.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe spent several hours afterWe spent several hours after 10:00 p.m. eating appetizers and pairing them with wines. It was rather noisy, but the food and service were excellent. We had a very good time but would have liked it a little quieter so we could carry on a conversation that didn't have to be shouted.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a very good restaurantThis is a very good restaurant for pre-theater dining. In the past it has been too noisy for much conversation, but on this visit it was not as crowded and that helped a lot. The entensive menu makes choices difficult. Everything we have ever eaten has been delicious. We also appreciated knowledgeable service.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGordon Ramsay might say theGordon Ramsay might say the menu's a bit big. However, we tried the 3-course tasting menu and overall, it was great. I had the dungeness crab soup with white truffle (that was excellent), the prawn salad, and the grilled half chicken with Tuscan marinade. The chicken was perfect -- seasoned, juicy, and worked very well with the marinade.
One other thing: the butter that came with the bread was sprinkled with sea salt, and it was phenomenal!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd time for me at Toulouse,2nd time for me at Toulouse, very pleased that my somewhat-picky Mom & French mom-in-law were both very happy with their dinner. We were a bit early to a 5:15 reservation after Swan Lake, & they'd seated us right away. Service was very congenial, our server Niki very knowledgable and quick to make suggestions. I'd asked to "be suprised" by the chef for my order - whatever was currently his favorite. I'd recieved the filet mignon w/crawfish-tasso, 2nd most expensive menu item. Not sure if my "suprise" was potentially me being taken advantage of, but regardless, it was perfectly prepared & proportioned, increadibly tasty.
Downside: noise level. Toulouse is very lively during happy hours, only gets louder as the night goes on.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWild boar bolognese was amazing.Wild boar bolognese was amazing. Can't wait to come back for brunch!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPre fixe was great. MenuPre fixe was great. Menu is amazing . . . couldn't take it all in . . .VERY large selection. Food was extremely tasty! Will definitely return.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I went forMy boyfriend and I went for restaurant week and the food was fantastic! I'd recommend the beignets especially. The atmosphere was great in that it was nice, but not overly fancy. The waitress was exceptionally friendly as well.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThis COULD BE an outstandingThis COULD BE an outstanding dining venue except for the fact that it is way too loud a place to enjoy great food and good conversation at the same time. There is absolutely NO REASON to crank up the music when the people noise of conversations should suffice in the lively environment. That said, the food is wonderful... so many delightful and delicious choices ... and the service of properly efficient and yet not rushed... just OUTSTANDING in every way. I would say that if your ears can take the noise and you have no fear of getting tinnitus, then go. Otherwise, sadly, you would best be advised to look elsewhere.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMExtraordinary dinner fromExtraordinary dinner from a very inventive menu. Our second visit, and we'll certainly return.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLove your restaurant. Go thereLove your restaurant. Go there as often as possible. Sorry about fire dept and candles.
Love Joe and the wine list.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLoud, but GoodVery loud! I would suggest sound panels on the ceiling.
Also, when I reserved my table I noted that it was my wife's 40th birthday. They did not acknowledge this.
The food is always great and the service is excellent.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMToulouse "Grand"This was our 3rd visit to Toulouse Petit.
We absolutely love everything about this restaurant and our experience.
The Food is outstanding, service is first class, and the environment is "bistro-romantic" !
Even our children (aged 9 and 12), loved their meals, and are excited to return again.
I can't say enough good things about the food!.
Our server, Nicci, was a fabulous host, and was very knowledgable with the wines. The Emeritus Pinot Noir was fantastic- Thanks Nicci! The fried green tomatoes with dungeness crab is over the top amazing, to name but one reason to come back again, and again!.
This is always our first choice for a restaurant when visiting Seattle3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAn incredible find near theAn incredible find near the Settle Center activities. The menu is extensive, and the food is as good as I have had in my 13 years in the Seattle area.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe fried chicken gumbo isThe fried chicken gumbo is a must! I am coming back for that specifically. Nice work!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBrought some family membersBrought some family members who have never been! Waiter took the time to explain the menu and was very helpful! Food excellent as always! Everyone really enjoyed the evening! Really appreciated that they did not rush us out!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA fun and lively spot withA fun and lively spot with outstanding food. Great service but our birthday was ignored (no candle in dessert). I mentioned birthday in the Open Table note and to the hostess that sat us. That was a little disappointing. Atmosphere VERY loud but food and fun make up for it.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were most impressed withWe were most impressed with the staff, who dealt with our one week early reservation with skill and empathy since they were fully booked & had no chance of squeezing us in on a Friday night except in the bar area. They were absolutely wonderful and the hosetss in particular deserves a huge raise. My husband loved his gumbo, I loved my yellow beet, arugula, olive & caper salad - just excellent.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone, from the hostessEveryone, from the hostess to our waiter, and everything about the food, the room ambience etc was great!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite Restaurant in Seattle.Favorite Restaurant in Seattle. Its always consistent and exceptional!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were excellent. There is a very, shall I say, vibrant and energetic bar scene. The only disappointment was the ambient noise was so great it was difficult to carry on a table conversation without shouting.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was awesome and so wasFood was awesome and so was the service. It was much louder than I expected, and much less formal than other places in the same level of food and price. Am I disappointed? A little bit, we were celebrating our anniversary and I had a more romantic place in mind. Will I be back? Definitely, for the food. Next time, I'll just know what to expect.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom the food to the atmosphereFrom the food to the atmosphere to the friendly service, it's obvious why Toulouse Petit makes mulitple lists of top restaurants in the US.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother wonderful dinnerOur fifth time at Toulouse. We love the place and it is now our go-to place for post or pre-performance meals when we see shows at Seattle Center. I discovered that I have always ended up eating the same thing. I am certain they have lots of other great stuff but the octopus appetizer and the their jambalaya are so good, why would I have anything else? The manager stopped by to see how we were doing and when I told him this, he suggested I try the BBQ shrimp which I may. My lovely bride had the lamb chops and loved them. Really good. We finished up with a lemon creme brulle with rosemary cookies. Great service! Great food! Can't wait to go back.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGood as alwaysThird time at Toulouse. Just as good as ever. Already have reservations for next time.12/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
