A word from Toula Restaurant
Toula is located in Toronto's Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. Its location, on the edge of Lake Ontario, presents a stunning view of the city and it's surroundings. The rich Italian fabrics, mirrored in the gold leaf ceiling, provide guests with the perfect setting to compliment any occasion. Toula has a well established reputation for using only the finest of ingredients. Of course, no menu would be complete without a wonderful selection of wines. General Manager Adriano Vicentini has been acquiring a substantial collection to compliment any dish. The main focus of our list has naturally fallen on Italian Reds, from the regions of Piedmonte and Tuscany. With a cellar consisting of over three hundreds labels, however, our ababundant range of flavours, from both Old and New World regions, will surely yield the perfect bottle to satisfy even the most discerning of palates.Continued

  • "I just went here to test out their summerlicious menu. It was amazing, the service way phenomenal, the chicken areas cooked perfect and the lobster ravioli was spectacular. Will definitely come back again for special occasions and the view."

  • "Everything pretty good. We enjoyed the dinner. The view is beautiful, at this time we didn't get the table of the lake side, hope we can get it next time."

  • "The food was excellent; the service was anything but. Our waiter was inatentive and we waited and waited for our main course. Eventually another waiter came and inquired if we were OK as he had seen that we were sitting for a long time. Soon after, our own waiter came by and apologized for the delay caused by a backlog in the kitchen!! Unfortunately we had to rush our meal and had no time for coffee before we had to leave for a concert."

  • "Enjoyed the evening. Though they ran out of a few items on the fixed menu and substituted with other ingredients without mentioning to us"

  • "This title sounds somewhat negative, it's not meant to be, just to remind serving staff, that some tables don't want the servers to tell unwanted stories and to check in on them quite so often. The food was amazing for summerlicious, very impressed, the view can't be beat. We also understand wanting to put tables close together for sections, but when there is space in a dining room it would be nicer to spread out as the host tried to sit us right beside strollers, and then sat another party behind us so it was difficult to get out when we went to leave. Also one of the servers, though very friendly, told a long winded story that we weren't really interested in."

  • "We had a fabulous time dining at Toula for my birthday this past Sat(July 5th). I chose this spot mostly for the extremely scenic view, which did not disappoint! The overall ambience was warm & inviting, the staff very attentive & courteous :-) Not to mention the food which was amazing at best!!!! Served on time & very warm/hot so we knew it was fresh and made to order. *2 thumbs UP* Thank You Toula....We will definitely be back ;-)"

  • "We had a reservation and still had to wait over an hour before we got to place our order. They did provide prosecco to people who were waiting. However I would have preferred to be seated at the time I made my reservation."

  • "I attended Toula with my boyfriend for Summerlicious. The menu had great options to choose from, however the service was a little slow. I understood the restaurant was packed! However some guests who arrived after us got served before"

  • "Went to Toula for anniversary. As you get off the elevator first thing you notice is a disorganized front of house. Didn't greet customers, just told you to hold on for minute. Our server was very nice, however, didn't ask how our food was because it he noticed it stayed uneaten. I ordered the Lamb Ragu, which was decent. My girlfriend ordered the lobster ravioli. Now, where do I begin with this.. This was the worst thing I've ever eaten. It tasted like cardboard stuffed with more cardboard in it. I've had better frozen dinners. Definitely not restaurant quality. Will not be visiting/recommending this restaurant. If you want a nice view and good food I'd recommend you Canoe. Way better food/service."

  • "Even though I made a reservation, we waited 40 mins. for our table. Very loud and the food was bland. Cheese was put on a dish that we specifically asked for without it due to a lactose intolerance. Only thing that saved the night was the view! Not returning."

  • "Great food, great service, and breathtaking views of the city all made this visit a very memorable experience! I would recommend it to anyone!"

  • "We had dinner there a couple of times in the past and enjoyed it. This time I was disappointed with the food, the portions, the service, the tables too close together and the poor value. I will not be returning, unless we hear of a major change."

  • "We were seated right away and were given a table for two by the window. Waiter was prompt and food came out quickly. My entrée was a little different than stated on the menu and I was not told in advance. The food was very good. I did find my choice of desert (chocolate tarte/cake) was dry and needed something like frozen yogurt or ice cream to go with it. A very nice experience."

  • "We went for Summerlicious (2 couples). We all ordered different meals and the consensus was the food was just "ok." It really just lacked seasoning. Everything was bland. I expected more because of the pretty views from the 38th floor. My girl and I ordered two glasses of wine that the wine list said was $13 each. We were charged $15 each. They ran out of the dessert that was featured on their menu and instead of the waiter just saying that, he doubled talked us. Overall, I wouldn't recommend."

  • "I will never go this restaurant again and would not recommend it to anyone. Although I booked a table for 4 people on Open Table, Toula did not have a place setting ready when we arrived. They quickly put two tables together for us, but right in front of a window with heavy condensation that did not provide a good view. I had to insist on a different table. By the way, it is not a revolving restaurant. When I booked the reservation I thought it was. The food was OK but overpriced. I ordered and double liquer and was charged for a double, but was only served a single. For the same price, you get better food, service and view at the CN Tower revolving restaurant. I won't make the same mistake again."

  • "The restaurant has the most beautiful view of the lake, and the city! The service is amazing, although it takes a while for the waiters to come to you. The food itself was gross. You pay a lot for a small serving of food! I got four big pieces of ravioli for $30 almost. The restaurant is great for the view and service, but if your a foodie like me you won't be impressed! To be less disappointed, go in for the view knowing the food is going to suck!"

  • "The view was great but the food was average. The service on the other hand was horrible. Best recommendation I can give is to spend your money somewhere else."

  • "Bread is cold, butter is hard = not a good pre-meal setup. Food was good, we had the crab cake to start, then each had pasta, with a 1 glass of wine each. A meal like this, should be in the $60-$80/ Total. Our total was $122 before tip. There are a lot better restaurants with a lot better food that you can get for that price. Good quality main dishes, good views of lake Ontario or the City, but way way overpriced for the type of food."

  • "We very much appreciated the service. We casually mentioned that we were there to celebrate our anniversary. At the end of dinner they brought out a very nice dessert with the words inked in chocolate on the plate, "Happy Anniversary" - this was unexpected and not asked for ... what a surprise! In addition, our after dinner cognacs were upgraded at no extra cost!"

  • "My wife and I dined here as we were staying at the hotel. My wife started with scallops and the had the lobster pasta dish. I had the daily specials, a seafood chowder and the lobster ravioli. The aps were great, especially my wife's scallops. The chowder was also great but a little salty. The big disappointment was the lobster ravioli. It wasn't bad, I just found it a little bland and after the great start with appetizers, it was a disappointment. One disappointing thing, all the patrons were dressed in business casual to formal attire. A family of 5 came in, a father a 4 children about 12 - 16ish. The kids looked like they were heading to the beach. Shorts, flip flops, tank tops. It ruined the ambiance of a nice place."

  • "I took the description from the Toula website literally when I read "Elegant and sophisticated" when I chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversary. I was mistaken. We were seated next to a family whose young child shrieked throughout the meal and elsewhere there were children running around also. We asked to be moved and were graciously but we were only a little further away from the shrieking. If Toula wish to be a family restaurant then please have them advertise as such and we could have avoided it. At $240 for two this was a very bad experience. It would have been cheaper to go the Old Spaghetti Factory for the family experience."

  • "Don't miss the opportunity to visit Toula. The food was excellent and the views from the 38th floor of the Westin hotel superb. A sour note is parking at the hotel. The hostess will tell you that she will validate your parking but when you go to pick up your car, you find the validation is meaningless and the price for parking is $22, the same price quoted to you when you arrived."

  • "I would strongly recommend to improve quality of food served. I booked birthday celebration, however I was so upset about quality of dinner and unprofessionalism of service, that did not even stay for dessert. Prices and quality are not matching..."

  • " The view is gorgeous and definitely a reason people will come. The wait staff are quiet, polite, and helpful. The menu seems very interesting and makes you hungry for multiple courses, however it is very overpriced for the food that you do receive. The food is just ok- it doesn't scream authentic, isn't overly tasty, doesn't make me want more. We had the famous risotto and my husband said it was just alright. I had tortelloni which in itself was fine, but the sauce was a bland tomato base. Main dishes were better- my husband said the steak was done very well and was nicely spiced. My salmon was quite good, although the salmon mousse could be done without. Overall- it's ok- too pricey. (And needs a real renovation and new menus- so outdated"

  • "The scallops were perfect. Then came the pasta meal. Over-cooked, tasteless with tired peas confusing the whole thing, and the lobster tails were undercooked so impossible to eat. As it was a special occasion and we were being treated, I found I could not send it back: but later I found out that we were all similarly disappointed: the gnocchi was sticky and tasteless and the tortellini seemed similar to that of a dethawed frozen dinner. Absolutely without a doubt the biggest menu disappointment ever. And they will not change it because why should they? Great view, lovely service and overpriced drinks lure you in, making you almost forget about your tastebuds...almost. I'd come back for the scallops and glass of wine and view, but that's all"

  • "We could not have been more pleased with our meal. The food was delicious: we especially liked the veal chop and the filet with truffles and foie gras. Our server and the rest of the staff were an absolute delight. If we lived in Toronto we would be here all the time."

  • "In general, we are very happy with the service and food at Toula. However, it was likely a bit of an off-night tonight as there were a few mistakes (we ordered two soups but only received one, and the poached pear dessert must have been a bad batch because it was uneatable). The waitress did everything that she could to make up for the missed soup, and was quite attentive to us overall. Although this particular experience was sub-par from what we expect from Toula, we will go back again, and would not hesitate to recommend to others to try. "

  • "The restaurant has a very nice view. Aside that there is not much to say about this place. Despite the restaurant being empty it took the server a really long time to get us started. The bread came in late and was not warm. We had to request for missing cutlery. The food was mediocre. Also, this is completely a matter of personal taste, but they were playing some awful music, which kind of ruined the mood. I expected much more for an establishment that is located in such a nice spot."

  • "I was at Toula with my mom for mother's day. We found the mother's day special menu little bit too much for each one of us and we asked for a la carte menu however manager explained us that for that day they only had their mother's day menu but he told us that we can either share it or choose any dish from that menu. We were amazed by his friendly approach. Service was amazing and obviously the view was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions and romantic dinners. "

  • "Great view and nice restaurant; not so great food experience. I ordered swordfish stuffed with roasted almonds (sounds good!) and got swordfish with mushrooms and capers. The best they could do otherwise was crusted with almonds. Why bother having something on the menu if you can't make it?? The waiter was friendly but not knowledgable - when asked to hold the sauce on the cornish hen, the waiter indicated that there was none (he was wrong). When asked for vegetables, the dish had mainly mashed potatoes. The risotto was good and the bread tasty as were the raw veggies with mustard dip to start. Desserts were bland - the ricotta cheesecake was awful and the chocolate lava cake was dry and unsweetened."

  • "Experience was wonderful. Seated at a table by the window to enjoy the view of Toronto Islands. Our server Mouricio was pleasant, very personable, professional & seemed very happy to be assisting us with our evening out. The food selection was varied so no problem finding something to enjoy & enjoy we did! My husband had rack of lamb & I had crusted trout w/ asparugus. Both were absolutely delicious!! Presentation was very pleasant as well Because of a delay in getting into our hotel room, we had had to postpone our reservation by an hour. The restaurant was very accomodating Unfortunately, this made us have to cut our evening short (as we had a concert to attend) so we were unable to enjoy desert. Will definately visit again!"

  • "I read a lot of bad reviews about this place. If you go here and don't think it is amazing I feel sorry for you. The view is amazing, the food is great, service is second to none. Only thing that you can complain about is that like all fine dining restaurants it is a little expensive."

  • "We ordered a steak Florentine medium but it came well done, without any pink at all. The seared Tuna was again well done. They replaced the tuna meal and gave a salad while the rest of us ate. Although the waiter knew we had a concert to attend, it took a very long time for the tea and coffees to arrive. For the price (over $300.00 ) for four people, it was quite disappointing."
