A word from Toula Restaurant
Toula is located in Toronto's Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. Its location, on the edge of Lake Ontario, presents a stunning view of the city and it's surroundings. The rich Italian fabrics, mirrored in the gold leaf ceiling, provide guests with the perfect setting to compliment any occasion. Toula has a well established reputation for using only the finest of ingredients. Of course, no menu would be complete without a wonderful selection of wines. General Manager Adriano Vicentini has been acquiring a substantial collection to compliment any dish. The main focus of our list has naturally fallen on Italian Reds, from the regions of Piedmonte and Tuscany. With a cellar consisting of over three hundreds labels, however, our ababundant range of flavours, from both Old and New World regions, will surely yield the perfect bottle to satisfy even the most discerning of palates.Continued

  • "Amazing food and beautiful scenery. So romantic! Great service out waitress was priceless her name was shante. Chef intro himself that was a nice gesture."

  • "Great view and nice restaurant; not so great food experience. I ordered swordfish stuffed with roasted almonds (sounds good!) and got swordfish with mushrooms and capers. The best they could do otherwise was crusted with almonds. Why bother having something on the menu if you can't make it?? The waiter was friendly but not knowledgable - when asked to hold the sauce on the cornish hen, the waiter indicated that there was none (he was wrong). When asked for vegetables, the dish had mainly mashed potatoes. The risotto was good and the bread tasty as were the raw veggies with mustard dip to start. Desserts were bland - the ricotta cheesecake was awful and the chocolate lava cake was dry and unsweetened."

  • "Experience was wonderful. Seated at a table by the window to enjoy the view of Toronto Islands. Our server Mouricio was pleasant, very personable, professional & seemed very happy to be assisting us with our evening out. The food selection was varied so no problem finding something to enjoy & enjoy we did! My husband had rack of lamb & I had crusted trout w/ asparugus. Both were absolutely delicious!! Presentation was very pleasant as well Because of a delay in getting into our hotel room, we had had to postpone our reservation by an hour. The restaurant was very accomodating Unfortunately, this made us have to cut our evening short (as we had a concert to attend) so we were unable to enjoy desert. Will definately visit again!"

  • "I read a lot of bad reviews about this place. If you go here and don't think it is amazing I feel sorry for you. The view is amazing, the food is great, service is second to none. Only thing that you can complain about is that like all fine dining restaurants it is a little expensive."

  • "We ordered a steak Florentine medium but it came well done, without any pink at all. The seared Tuna was again well done. They replaced the tuna meal and gave a salad while the rest of us ate. Although the waiter knew we had a concert to attend, it took a very long time for the tea and coffees to arrive. For the price (over $300.00 ) for four people, it was quite disappointing."

  • "Great experience at Toula restaurant last wknd! My daughter wished for Maple Leafs tkts for her sweet-16, so we got tkts and stayed overnight at Harbour Castle due to proximity to ACC. But that's not why we chose Toula. We chose Toula after much research and were not disappointed! Toula staff were outstanding in accommodating us. We were very late for our reservation, but not only did Toula hold our reservation, they were amazing in providing the best experience as expediently as possible so that we could dine AND still make the game. The entire staff were attentive to our table, they made excellent recommendations, the food was delectable, the view was fantastic and BALDO IS THE MAN when it comes to service! Thank you Toula!"

  • "We held a luncheon at Toula for six women on a Sunday afternoon. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. We all shared plates - the waiter made recommendations. With half of veg and the other half non-veg we got a great mix of items. The views are spectacular. Highly highly recommend Toula. Love it every time I go."

  • "Restaurant was good. Service wa fine. Only concern was we were asked several times how things were to a point it was annoying. We went as a group on a wagjag, prix fixe menu was good. Ambience as to where it was located was amazing view especially form the 38th floor. Drinks very expensive."

  • "This restaurant builds your anticipation from the glass elevator ride to the restaurant level. We heard about the scenic view and fell in love with the ambiance right away. We had superb service throughout the evening, though our table of 6 did feel slightly pressured by the bar manager to order alcoholic drinks. Being a Winterlicious event, the restaurant offered an expansive menu for each of the 3 courses. I was impressed by the offerings of the menu but the quality of the food fell short of expectations. The portion sizes came smaller than expected. I would have rather seen fewer options and slightly larger portions. Overall, I would recommend it for the its scenic view and ambiance but not for the food."

  • "The experience of Toula starts in the hotel lobby when you take the glass elevator to the top and see Toronto unfold in front of you. This is the second time we've come to Toula for dinner because we enjoyed ourselves so much the first time. And, once again, we were not disappointed. We started with a wild mushroom soup dusted with Parmesan followed by a cheese and deli meat tray to share. We both decided on the veal tenderloin for dinner that was fork tender. Lastly we enjoyed dessert. I had a fig and chestnut tart, delicious, and my friend had poached pears with marscapone cheese. We happily shared. Our server was delightful, friendly and engaging but not hovering. This was another perfect evening on top of Toronto."

  • "As well as the view being nice, all the staff were professional and knowledgable. The meals , wine , desert and coffees were their recommendations, and we were quite satisfied. Definitely a place I would go back to for a romantic evening."

  • "It is always enjoyable dining at Toula. The view of the waterfront and the Island airport is excellent, especially at night time. The staff is friendly and attentive. There is a good selection from the menu and food is well prepared. We are abstainers, so no comment on the wine list. It will be wonderful if the restaurant can make use of the piano, rather than letting it sit like a piece of furniture."

  • "We had a great family dinner for a special occasion, service is wonderful, food is good but we had to wait more than one hour for our food to arrive, it seems like someone missed to put the order through the system. Anyway we enjoyed the spare hours by talking and looking at the scenery. Recommend for a special occasion, the tap is on the High side"

  • "Used a voucher....risotto was hard and over salted. Desserts were stale...edges of cakes were hard and dried out like they had been sitting out all day. Will not return. Have had better food from a food court!"

  • "I was excited when I booked the reservation and was hoping to have an enjoyable evening with a good delicious dinner, alas, this did not happen, as I was very disappointed with the food, and frankly speaking did not get my money worth. The meal that I ordered came with a different temperatures, the mashed potatoes was slightly heated with a moderate temperature, while the chicken was very cold and tasteless. my grade will be 2 out of 10."

  • "The restaurant is at top of Westin Harbor Hotel (east tower) , it no longer rotate but has impeccable view of Toronto city as well as un-obstructed view of Ontario lake/center island. Service is great, food is ok, In all a restaurant fit for romantic or special occasion. The blue Hawaii Martini was excellent."

  • "Valentines dinner fail waiter forgot to bring bread, roses snd chocolate. Didnt give us valentines menu. Food portiond were tiny. I have never seen such small lobster tails. To top it off we were over charged on the bill from the prices on the menu"
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Unfortunately, the Toula Restaurant no longer rotates. If you're lucky enough to get a view of the water/islands, then you're golden. If, on the other hand, you need to look out at the Toronto Star building or the major construction yards within spitting distance of the hotel, your meal view is quite under-whelming. The prixe-fixe meals are generally pretty good. The main problem we had was with the service. Not only did it take almost an hour to receive the soup course, one of the waiters appeared to have some over-powering cologne on. Whenever he walked by us to deliver food to another table, it was like walking into The Bay fragrance department."

  • "The food was really good and presented in a beautiful manner. We did not like service. It was too much at some point, but at the same time not sincere and cold. It would be more inviting if for our romantic diner we had a warm and cheerful person."

  • "I took my boyfriend there for dinner and the view was very beautiful. The service was amazing and everyone was so kind. The best part about dinner was the main but the appetizers tasted very bland. Dessert was delicious, would definitely go back again!"

  • "Really disappointed with the food from the Winterlicious menu. I had the scallops to start (let me rephrase that: 1 scallop) the lobster pasta, which as my husband put it, tasted like pasta out of a heinz can and the parfait for dessert which was really good. He had the cured meat to start which he enjoyed, the surf and turf - which was also only 1 shrimp but an excellent cut of beef and the tiramisu that was flavourful however quite soggy and seemed like it was store bought. It is a good price at $35/person for fine dining, but add any drinks to that at $10.50/beer or $15/glass of wine and you have a very overpriced meal. The view was nice and the service was good. ."

  • "I had lunch here during winterlicious. The view was absolutely stunning and the food was great. However we thought that the portions were a bit on the small side. My friend got the ravioli as a main and there was about 10 ravioli on the plate... Is that a normal portion? We also felt a bit rushed; the server brought out our bill before we were even finished our dessert but we weren't too bothered by it. Overall we had a lovely time and would love to come back!"

  • "I have been to Toula's for lunch a few times, so I wanted to try it for dinner. I thought Winterlicious would be a good opportunity. I ordered the scallops over rice---I got half a scallop over greasy and luke-warm rice. For the surf and turf, the meat was tender and cooked well, but I got one small shrimp wrapped in prosciutto with it. For dessert, I ordered the poached pear and I got one half of a pear, totally covered in chocolate. My guest was also disappointed in the quality of food she received. I realize that the price of the meal is more than fair, but not when it's poor quality food."

  • "Food was not tasty. Portions were small. Service was good but rushed. We were served 3 courses in 50 mins. I had the lobster martini , tasteless. The lobster pasta again tasteless , the asparagus in the pasta was crisp and fresh. The gelato and berries for dessert average .My 3 friends were also disappointed with the dining experience. We left knowing we would need to grab a snack later. I do like to end on a positive note the bread served was soft , fresh and delicious. The wine list was good and we enjoyed our wine."

  • "Have been to Toula several times but never for Winterlicious. They did not disappoint--for was great (as usual) and the service was good. Only issue was the heat! I think it was on full blast on an evening that it did t need to be. Asked to have it turned down several times but to no avail. Also, ordered flowers through the open table add-on service but they didn't arrive until after we were seated. Would have been a lot nicer if they had arrived before we did and the flowers were waiting on the table like initially planned."

  • "Ive been to toula twice before and I really enjoyed the food however this last experience was not a memorable one. Maybe because its winterlicious however I would have rather paid full price and get a good serving. I felt like I had 3 appetizers. Lobster martini was decent but barely any lobster. The surf and turf dish was timy, the meat was dry and the proscuitto wrapped around the shrimp tasted weird. The mashpotatoes were hard and with no flavour. The best part of the meal was the dessert. Both the gelato and the parfait were very good. As for service it was amateur and not helpful when asking for recommendations. Its unfortunate because I praised this restaurant before but now I dont thonk I have the desire to go back."

  • "We had the winterlicious menu. Small portions and not really great tasting. Although the lobster pasta was nice"

  • "Overall, I was very impressed with the scenic view while dining. Where else can you dine with such a spectacular view overlooking Lake Ontario? Other than the view though, the food seemed somewhat mediocre. Of course, the menu makes your mouth water... but the food pales in comparison to its description. Don't get me wrong, the taste was alright, but the servings did not reflect their description on the menu. I suggest coming to Toula if you value the view over the quality of the food provided. This can easily be a high quality restaurant if they take the time to ensure that the food the customer receives is actually as good as they make it sound in their menu."

  • "Great view!! The washrooms smelled of bleach. There was a floral scent attempting to mask the smell. I don't think any where in the city if TO, should charge 8.95... For a bottle of Canadian!!! Let me know when they renovate!! That decor is from 25 years ago or more!! I think it could be a great city Hot spot."

  • "The food was good, but the portion sizes were questionable. For example, I ordered a surf and turf, and it consisted of a small piece of tenderloin plus ONE shrimp. I think the single shrimp was a little pathetic to be called a surf and turf."

  • "We booked Toual to take our mature kids for a nice meal. view is impressive but , disappointed with the food and 'Fair' service. Size of complete meal seemed like an appetizer. Table bread served was stale and hard- no it was not toasted.'Scallops' should be 'scallop', mine was a single scallop onto top of a mini hasbrown. My wifes salad was basically a few pices of arugula leaves.'Surf and turf' was a single shrimp wrapped with a small piece of proscuitto on top of a morsel of meat - 4 oz at most.. My son ordered 'blue' , got 'medium' , server seemed upset for telling him it was wrong. Icecream looked like it was fromed with a teaspoon. No one was impressedl. We won't be going back to chance full price for a meal."
