Diner Reviews
  • "Food was great. Our server was friendly and attentive. Two issues. One the noise was pretty overwhelming. Very hard to have a conversation. Two, we sat next to a service table and wait staff were continually reaching over us and bumping into us to retrieve items, at least until we objected."

  • "The service was slow but it was a busy holiday weekend. Portions were small, but good."

  • "Have Been to the Touch of Italy on Route 1 2 times this trip and will probably go back. Great Bolognese Sauce. Great AntiPasta Plate just good tasting food. Always good service also. I highly recommend to anyone wanting good Italian at the beach in Rehobeth"

  • "Food mediocre. Noise high, even for late dining. Service ok but inexperienced. Waiter meant well. Seemed surprised to see us at time of reservation. Not worth the trip and certainly not worth waiting in line for."

  • "Excellent food, service but noise level is a problem"

  • "We really enjoy the mid day sandwitches and keep coming back for an evening pasta dish or pizza. A definate plus for large beach families."

  • "The service was very good. Montana was an exceptional waitress. The ambience was notably Italian and attractive to the eye, but the lack of proper acoustics made our visit forgettable. It was so noisy (loud) we couldn't hear ourselves across the table. We just ate our meal and leaned in for an occasional word. The food was reasonably good, but my medium steak was nearly well done and hard to cut. It still tasted okay. I'm not one to send back food because it interrupts the flow of the meal and the other people at the table. My bride and I were celebrating our 42nd Anniversary, and we won't do that again (celebrate an anniv.) at Touch of Italy. We may stop in for lunch, or get something at the deli, but Touch is off our list of frequents."

  • "My previous dining experiences have been excellent. This time not soo much. One of our entrees arrived burnt/over cooked. Also, one entree we ordered never arrived. Our waitress seemed very overwhelmed and never noticed we didn't receive all of our items and still charged us. We will not be going back. Unfortunate since we own a house at the beach."

  • "There were 4 of us for dinner, and all of the appetizers, and the entrees, were superb! Of particular note was the Calamari...melt in the mouth tender. The pizza was also excellent. Very thin crust and tasty sauce, fresh mozzarella, and fragrant basil."

  • "Never going back to that one. Will go back to Lewes."

  • "Excellent pizza and pasta. Desserts are first rate too."

  • "Food was good. Little expensive. Asked for high chair and had to remind hostess about this a second time. Waiter was good. Even though we had 6 adults the food took longer that expected. There were people who came in after us and got their food before me."

  • "In our group those who ordered the salmon were quite happy. Two others ordered a pasta dish with an interesting pesto and tomatoes and mushrooms, but the pasta itself was oddly thick and very chewy. This is a casual place and the service matches the casual atmosphere. The hostess said nothing to us and then tossed our menus on the table so that they nearly slid off giving the impression that she doesn't like her job. Our waitress was very friendly but we had to ask twice for water and she did not offer fresh ground pepper for our Caesar salads. The salads were good and the shaved slices of parmesan are really good, but some pepper would have made it even better."

  • "The Nonnas dinner for two at $45 for two people was enough for another two meals at home. Abbodanza!"

  • "Since they opened their first little shop on Baltimore Ave in Rehoboth and I tried one of their Italian sandwiches, I've been a fan of Touch of Italy. Their expansions into downtown Lewes and now on Route 1 in Rehoboth have been well-received and the range of food presented has gotten wider and even better. There are many good things to eat on the dinner menu at the Rehoboth restaurant, which seats about 100. Be sure to try one of their salads, big enough for two, and my favorite entree, the Chicken Parmigiana, will easily feed two, or one very hungry person. On my last visit, I veered from my favorite and tried the Braciole, which was also delicious. T of I's pastries are authentically Italian and so are their Italian meats. "

  • "Any of the Touch of Italy locations are worth visiting! Food is always first-rate and the service, always friendly and efficient! Be aware of the large portions! Either come hungry or consider splitting a dish..salads, sandwiches, pastas...all very large portions. One of our favorites! "

  • "I love the food, the decor, and the music they play although when the place is just half full, the noise level is such that I can not hear it. It is still a fav of mine. I have had the pizza, pasta with calamari and other seafood, appetizers, chix dishes and the steak-it has all been great. "

  • "I've been frequenting Touch of Italy for a few years now, but the Rt. 1 location in RB is my favorite. We sat at the bar for HH and dinner and received fantastic service from the bartender. The wine specials, pizza and chicken dish ordered were superb and a great value! I'll be back!!!"

  • "As we had Open Table reservations we were seated promptly and the service was very good. The food is always excellent at this restaurant. THEY NEED A CHILDREN'S MENU!"

  • "The noise level for evening dinner was extremely loud. Trouble talking to the person at the other end of table. ( there was only 6 in our party) Could be improved with noise absorbing panels hung from ceiling."

  • "Booked a reservation and requested a specific server. There were 7 of us, we were seated promptly and our server was great. Food was a little slow coming out but certainly worth the wait. We were all very pleased with food."

  • "This has become our "go to" restaurant. There are so many items on the menu we want to go every night to try something new. The fact that I could make the reservation online is even better!! We can't wait to go back!"

  • " Your menu was not very clear on what the menu option were. No meat was available like meatballs or sausage. Very misleading. You bread was not even Italian had much better.Cannoli was good but the cookies were not. Not much variety or enough aniset . Boring! The floor was really bad. Chairs were getting hung up on the floor. My 88 year old Mother could not move her chair because of the floor keep on getting hooked up."

  • "Tried weekly Sunday special, 'Nona's Family Dinner'...good, flavorful and plentiful meal with salad, mixed meats over pasty; ours served 3 of us (and we still took home delicious leftovers!). For $45., its real value. Also, their good Sicilian red wine accompanies perfectly, and a bottle doesn't 'break the bank'. Always a fun place for really good, fresh Italian food!"

  • "The place smells amazing, with all the food, the baked goods and cheeses. Seeing the desserts in the cases really makes you want to save room for them but the food is terrific so best off to take some home with you."

  • "The food is always fresh and delicious. The pizza is light and crisp, great as a table appetizer for a large group. Excellent take out counter with a large variety of prepared foods and wonderful desserts."

  • "Loudest restaurant we have ever been in....not just loud, could not have conversation with the friends at the table with us...this is not a joke....loud....food and service was great...would never go there to discuss important devorice arrangements...she would get everything, including my Mister Ray weave....I would not hear what her Lawyer was taking me for...."

  • "I liked the food the first time I went here a week ago. Had the salads, entrees and wine the last time. That time, the food was stellar. This time, we had the arugula salad (excellent), the D'abruzza wine and the Chiante (not so great) - go with the higher end Italian wines like the Sangiovese and the Dolcetta. The pizza is just OK. The crust is more cracker like than chewy and the broccoli rabe and sausage pizza was just too dry and tasteless except for the too spicy (and I like spicy) overcooked sausage. We really like this place though, and we will be back based on the salads, the entrees, the atmosphere, and the service. We just wouldn't get the pizza again. "

  • "The food and service are always consistently good, but the noise level is totally offensive! There were only 2 of us and we could not talk to each other without yelling. Even the hostess commented that she goes home with a headache! It made for a very unpleasant meal. Every time we go there it is the same. After this last meal we decided that we probably won't return!"

  • "the restaurant was a pleasant suprise from a family member who like good Italian food service was good and the food came out hot and seasoned just right tabe was a bit small for 4 people "

  • "First off I made my reservations. I was told this was the only way to obtain a reservation. I wasn't sure how to change group size. I spoke with the hostess she took care of it later to receive a call to say they were not opened on the 20th. We never had the chance to go. I feel a restaurant should be aware of when they are closed, I can understand an error on the computer but when speaking with and employee and them not know when opened saying they could accommodate us, this is quite sad. This was my second negative experience with Touch of Italy, I do not think I will try for the third. Sorry but they know not what they are doing. Their food may be good but their system of hosting guests is totally irresponsible."

  • "From the first time I visited Touch of Italy at the Lewes location, I have loved this place. The owners and the staff made me feel like I was right at home. The owners come around to the tables to see if everything is ok, they chat with you, and are not afraid to help out the wait staff if it is busy. The food is spectacular as well. "
