Diner Reviews
  • "The elk loin was superb. Cooked just the wayI like it. Another person in our party had the strip steak and short rib combination, which looked very appetizing smothered with veggies. Very convenient location for attending a performance at the Vilar Center."

  • "We called and asked if our table could be outside. They said they would try to work it when we get there. When we got there the outside was full and the inside was very warm It was not a comfortable dining experience, When we left we walked by the bar and it was so cool. They had air-conditioning. We looked back and the dining room also had vents for airconditioning. It obviously wasn't working in the dining room. I think we should have been warned ahead of time that we would be sweating while we ate. No one ever mentioned it or offered us any compensation. They just acted like it was normal. The waiter was good but a little on the smug side with a little of an uppity attitude. Maybe he was hot, too."

  • "When we get to the mountains this is often a restaurant we have on our list...great location, fun ambiance, and we always enjoy the food. This recent visit we had an outstanding meal, chef's special was great."

  • "Toscanini was so great, we sat in the bar for my birthday and the staff seemed to be into the celebration with us. The food, especially the halibut and venison dishes were mouth watering."

  • "The efficient friendly service paired with an impressive menu provide a complete dining experience. From the appetizers to the desserts the meal was excellent."

  • "Where to start! The lasagna that was $27 was so gross that my husband said "microwaved Stouffers lasagna tastes better" than theirs. My saffron risotto tasted like Dawn dish soap. I asked my husband to try it and he thought it smelled and tasted like oven cleaner. When I told the waitress it wasn't edible, she rolled her eyes at me. My ceasar salad had so much pepper on it, I would choke and cough due to it. I know Open Table offers 1000 points for this place and I now know why. They wouldn't have any business without it. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere like the Blue Moose Pizza that's down the village walk way! So much better! "

  • "The setting was romantic and the food was amazing. Our table was nestled behind a column and made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. The service was very prompt, the food was very timely and the experience was amazing."

  • "We had a good experience for dinner there recently. The waiter was helpful and attentive although it was a busy night. The food was good(but not great). The pasta was too soft and not "al dente." The flourless chocolate dessert was awesome. The location was right next to the skating rink in the middle of Beaver Creek so you can't get much better than that."

  • "This restaurant was recommended by a friend. The service was very bad. We did not get greeted by the server for 10-15 minutes and after placing the drink order it took another 10-15 minutes to receive them. At this point, the restaurant was operating at about 1/3 of the capacity. We sent one entree back several times and the rest of the meals were mediocre."

  • "We had been to Toscanini two years ago and the total experience was wonderful. We wanted to go back two years later to get the same experience. We ordered cocktails which were awful I described exactly how the cocktail should look and taste. Sent them back. I ordered a basic cocktail and it was also poor. Ordered wine which they couldn't mess up. Food was not as tasty as last time. My husband had Osso Bucco and he really enjoyed it. We had to refill our wine glasses because the waiter didn't check on us. I had to ask for bread for the table. Just not what we expected for the price."

  • "We have now been to Toscinini's 3 times. We enjoy it each time but it is a limited based on the fact that there is no other italian on the mountain. Our experience seems based each time more on company than food. Can you find better Italian? Sure, but not with a view of the square you just walked down the mountain in the snow to get to! Nice wine selection. Let the kids try the Blood Oraqnge Soda -- It's awesome -- gotta try that with some vodka..."

  • "We ate at Toscanini before theater at the Vilar Center this summer. It was a very disappointing experience. We decided to give it another try. We put a comment in our reservation. The staff took our comment seriously. Our server, Meghan was outstanding! She knew the wine list very well. She allowed us to enjoy leisurely dining while keeping us on schedule for the curtain. She knew the menu and made good suggestions. As a gluten free customer, I appreciate the variety of options. Formerly unhappy customers, because of Meghan's wonderful service, we will be back."

  • "Nice ambiance. Adjacent to the skating rink in Beaver Creek. Kid-friendly. Go after 7:30 or 8:00 if you want to avoid the kid crowd. Outstanding chicken dish and shrimp bisque. Ok salads. Risotto was mush and had to be sent back. Server was very accommodating."

  • "We had dinner here our first night in Beaver Creek. If you're staying in the village, this is a great spot to try, located right behind the ice rink. Service was relaxed and friendly. We had the seafood tagliatelle, as a starter. It was a little spicier than I was expecting but very good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the seafood was plentiful. Our second course we had the elf tenderloin, served with pesto potatoes. Everything was delicious and incredibly filling. If you like high quality Italian food, this is a spot to check out."

  • "Our dining experience at Toscanini was wonderful especially after having a bad experience at Vin 48. The food was fabulous and our service was excellent . Our waiter was Art and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. He had great energy and took great care of us. I had the chicken dish wish was cooked outstanding and my husband and friend had the elk, they enjoyed. We will defiantly return to this restaurant again and ask for Art!!"

  • "Second time I go to this restaurant. First time was 2 years ago. Back then the food was outstanding. Maybe the had a bad night but other than the appetizers, the main courses were not good. Chicken was dry and the risotto and veal lacked seasoning. Service and wine list were great."

  • "Booked through Open Table and took a 5:45 reservation as everything was booked until 8:30. When we arrived there were only two tables being served. Hostess said there were many last minute cancellation, so we asked if we could delay until 6:30. She said next seating was at 7:30. When we completed our dinner, the restaurant was only 1/2 full. Clearly the Hostess was not interested in fulfilling our simple request, given the light crowd. Special shrimp appetizer was wonderful. Veal Milanese was quite good but presented on the plate like a Denny's Chicken fried steak. Elk filet was delicious, but asked for medium and got rare. Waitress, Kathy, was terrific."

  • "It's been 10 years since I have dined at Toscanini it was as good as i remembered. The staff were very accommodating as I changed the number of diners from 6 to 14 and the time twice. Our server immediately took a dish back that was tepid in temperature and had the chef remake the dish. Add it to your list of musts when you visit Beaver Creek."

  • "This is a great location by the ice rink in Beaver Creek. The restaurant has a nice energy. The food was just not as good as it should have been. I ordered the Pappardelle with Bolognese which was almost a good dish. The sauce was O.K. not great. The noodles were really good except that they never tossed the pasta with the sauce so the bottom of the dish was an inedible mass of stuck together noodles. My husband ordered the Elk entree which was perfectly cooked medium rare and was delicious. The salad we ordered was excellent but the shrimp appetizer was bland. Overall it was a pleasant experience. It is hard to justify paying this much for a dinner where things should have been so much better with just a little effort."

  • "We always make a point of eating at Toscanini when we're in Beaver Creek and have never had a bad experience. This past reservation, however, left a lot to be desired. We had a window seat that was wonderful but the new lighting was so bright it felt like we were in a fast food restaurant - all ambience has been lost. The menu on the web site was not what was offered in the restaurant - specifically the hanger steak. The pasta was nothing special and the trout was a very small portion with little flavor. We were really looking forward to a wonderful meal at a favorite restaurant, but were so disappointed we won't return. Normally we wouldn't complain and just chalk it up to an off night, but the whole experience was very disappointing."

  • "We had another fantastic meal at this wonderful Italian gem in Beaver Creek in the main square with the ice rink. The wine selection is fantastic. The portions are good. The wait staff is excellent. Most importantly, my husband and I are able to sample more gourmet selections while the children are delighted by the more kid-friendly choices. A great dining experience."

  • "Toscanini has great food, ambiance, service, and is the best place in Beaver Creek for dinner before shows at the Vilar Center, even the early 6:30 shows. Fun watching the skaters on the ice rink outside."

  • "We were there with relatives who had never been to Beaver Creek they loved the food and location. Toscani is our must stop restaurant each time we visit Beaver Creek."

  • "We have enjoyed Toscanini in the past. However, this visit was very disappointing. They were out of the Gluten Free pasta (how can an Italian restaurant be out of pasta? ). The waiter's explanation of why was confusing. So he recommended a $42 veal plate. (Versus the $28 pasta). That plate came with breaded onion rings on top, which can't be eaten by someone with celiac. So, it was sent back. The waiter blamed this on the kitchen, and said he was frustrated with them. Then when we received the bill it had both the pasta and veal plate on it. The restaurant is also very noisy with a lot of kids and yelling adults."

  • "The price of everying is expensive as it is for much of Beaver Creek. I do not mind paying, however, for the price I do expect a good meal and top service. The restaurant had no meatballs for their pasta with meatballs, were substituting kale for the lettuce in their Caesar salad, were out of specialty soda flavors, and down to their last order on many of their entree choices (we had a 5:45PM dinner reservation). Our food came out cold. I would avoid the restaurant. When we asked why all of the issues, all we received as an explaination was finger pointing. There was no offer to make any adjustment to our bill or even the offer of a free dessert. This restaurant is defintiely not worth the money - much better places to eat in Beaver Creek."

  • "A great apres' ski meal. Many good Italian choices. Flavor/preparation very good. Service very friendly. Very accommodating to kids as expected in Beaver Creek."

  • "We come to Vail/Beaver Creek for the skiing & fabulous dining. Toscanini was a huge expensive disappointment. My risotto was so overcooked it was paste. The fresh pastas were glued together, Caesar not homemade as they proclaimed, and the meat sauce was completely flavorless & grey. Kids were well taken care of & their menu had nice selections. We would not consider going back."

  • "How the mighty have fallen... My family and I dined at Toscanini this week during a vacation to Beaver Creek. I brought my parents along as well. I had built up their expectations of Toscanini based on our previous experience with the restaurant. We visited 3 years ago and had 2 exquisite experiences during that trip. This time - not so much. Our experience at Toscanini was very disappointing this time around. So much so that we cancelled a second reservation for later this week. Three complaints: Food just simply wasn't good. Service was sub-par and we had a large, disruptive party sitting next to us most of the evening. The standard expected at restaurants of this ilk in Beaver Creek is much higher, and Toscanini missed the mark."

  • "We dined here the day after Christmas, as has been our tradition for a few years. Upon walking in, we were excited to see the new changes in the design of the restaurant. However, when we got our food, we noticed the quality was not at all what we were accustomed to. Our friends eat there the next night with the same results. We won't be back. Definitely not worth the money."

  • "We had lunch at the new bar and the food was very good. The fried goat cheese in the salad was different and very tasty. Our service was great and the bartender Brandon had a lot of Beaver Creek knowledge."

  • "Our server was great, and the wine assistance we received was helpful, but the food was very average. The Osso Bucco was dry, and the risotto tasted very basic, almost out of the box. I like Toscanini, but there are several better options for $35+ plate dining"

  • "on our annual trip to BC, we always hit several excellent restaurants. Toscanini has always been packed in the past and could not get resrvations, this year we did, it appears the restaurant has changed, either just a change in appearance or maybe ownership, based on the interior looks. however, the food was very good, and the prices reasonable for the middle of Beaver Creek. yes we would go back to this restaurant for a casual attire location with good food."
