  • "The music is too loud, but the food and space are great."

  • "This restaurant is noisy, the service is very slow (but waitress was very nice) and food is okay. To start we ordered gucamole for $8. It came with a big basket of chips but no salsa. The salsa is extra. I had fajitas that arrived with a thimble sized amount of salsa. What does this restaurant have agaist salsa?"

  • "Get the CHURROS!!! I'm glad I don't live closer, otherwise I would be here eating churros every night. This place has spoiled me. They put a twist on every single dish. Only the names are familiar. Just have a look at the menu. It tastes as good as it sounds. I like the service here because it's relaxed. The servers aren't all over you like what you might experience at some restaurants but it's smooth and prompt. Also the ambiance is as good as the food. It's going to be difficult to go anywhere else for Mexican food in the future."

  • "This is absolutely one of my favorite places. The food is good - perhaps not the best you'll find - but it's good nonetheless. Lately they've been having some pretty spectacular "specials" which have been a nice change - as I've been here many, many times. The service is generally great, I've never really had any problems there. Why this is one of my favorite places hands down is the atmosphere (it's got a trendy, upscale feel - but I've dined there in my gym clothes on more than one occasion!).... and of course, the margaritas. The margaritas are simply the best I've had in town. If you're interested in a more quiet atmosphere simply ask to be seated in the 'rope room", its in the back of the restaurant where its generally empty."

  • "Love Tortilla Republic. The food, the staff, the service, and ambiance are all great. I've been a loyal fan and customer since you opened. You've always managed to provide a quality restaurant experience at a great value (making you a neighborhood staple). However, during Taco Tuesday a couple of days ago ... you really should have mentioned that a pitcher of ice-filled margaritas would be $60 ($72 with tip)! As a courtesy, the bartender should have alerted me to the fact that (a) the Tuesday night promotional margarita pricing had passed and (b) that what I was about to order had such a steep price tag. BUYERS BEWARE!!!"

  • "Waitress was inattentive kept us waiting for drinks and fail to ask to ask us when we were ready to place our order was nice to bring us two baskets of chips as we got full ...hostess or manger came by ask if something was wrong we told we being waiting awhile and the wateriness has not bother to place our oder yet Taco Tuesday we all doubled our order normal is 2 tacos for six dollars we ask if we can one more to make it three each we have to order a 2 full order making it 4 tacos each ..ok we got 8 tacos and we then ask her where the other four were she said we double one order and that was not the case made it out that it was our fault when we place the order we paid our bill then grab her payment didn't say thank you or sorry about"

  • "I have been to Tortilla Republic several times, and it never disappoints. I brought a few friends for an early dinner, and I was surprised to find an extremely generous happy hour. Great food at great prices! I will be back anytime, but now that I know about happy hour, I will come earlier!"

  • "Had great appetizers and Margarita for happy hour with a friend from out of town!"

  • "The food here is above average for LA (mediocre by NYC standards) but they have perhaps the best Jalapeno Margarita that I have ever had. Ambiance and decor are great and this is probably the best restaurant in this category in the neighborhood. Avoid Sur at all costs."

  • "Bustling atmosphere but not too crowded. It's actually a cozy and stylish little spot. We made a meal out of the appetizers. The skinny shrimp tacos were very flavorful "not fishy at all" and the sauce was great. It was light but filling. The sweet potato fries were also light and not soaked with oil. Also the chips were very crispy and warm. Guacamole was a generous portion and the flautas although not a large portion were delicious and fluffy. Great time in a great spot. And of course always a great cheery crowd in weho. Definitely coming back."

  • "I love Tortilla Republic and they have the best guacamole and spicy passion fruit margaritas! I really like the vegan elderflower enchiladas. They have a spacious patio and great decor. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for great Mexican cuisine with vegan options too. The black beans and rice are vegan too."

  • "Had a great time and a wonderful meal. Was on a date and our waitress was attentive but never hovering. She also managed to get us some of the happy hour drinks and eats last minute! Always enjoy my dinners here."

  • "Love this place. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Go here frequently for lunch and dinner. Fab patio. Beautiful dining room in back that makes getting together with friends feel like a special occasion. Love the guac, tuna tacos, shrimp, ceviche. Never had a less than excellent meal."

  • "We ordered some light items and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There was a big group seated next to us taking part of the bottomless mimosas. We may give that a try the next time!"

  • "This was my second time visiting tortilla republic and it was just as good if not better than my first visit. This time around I was on a date and the setting was perfect for an intimate dinner and the food was just too good not to share with each other. Service was excellent even amidst a busy 'Taco Tuesday', which by the way, is a great night to go given their delicious taco specials. I must also mention the pork chop dish and their jalapeño margarita, both of which, will leave your mouth watering long after you've left the restaurant. Bottom line, this is a great spot for all kinds of occasions, from a simple date night, to a friendly birthday gathering and everything in between."

  • "Excellent cuisine, great choice on menu between small plates and full meals, and interesting specialty cocktails (the el Niño margarita!) made even more delightful by genuinely friendly welcome and service."

  • "we had a fun birthday celebration lunch for 8 ladies and the service, staff and food could not have been better! They even brought us churros for our Birthday group!! I will be back!"

  • "There were 9 of us for dinner. Appetizers were good, main courses very average. Food has been much better in the past. Chicken fajitas should be removed from menu or prepared a different way....very dry and boring. Carnitas lacked their usual full flavor. Good for groups and the margaritas are always good. Would not rush back"

  • "We had a wonderful time. It was a Saturday Night, and I had a friend Visiting who wanted dinner and a drink. The Restaurant was busy, but there were plenty of staff, so you always felt well taken care of. The food was really tasty and felt very 'clean' which is great when it comes to Mexican Food. The drinks were wonderful too. This is a great place to grab a bite with friends before a night out, or if you just want to grab a drink at the bar, and a bar snack. It was a Saturday Night, and so I wouldn't recommend it for a 'date' place, as its quite noisy, but I have also been mid week, where its much more, chill, and the ambience is great for a date or dinner with friends. I love this place and will be coming back!"

  • "We went to Tortilla Republic on Valentine's day because we wanted a casual night out with no big fuss of a fancy restaurant. At no point when we made our reservation or before we sat down did anybody tell us we had to order from a special Valentine's menu. Once we were seated and opened the menu, only then did we see our only option was to order from a special "4-course" menu to the tune of $65 each. And one of these "courses" was chips and a small bowl of guacamole. After a few drinks, tax and tip, our bill was $250 for two people. At Tortilla Republic this is a complete joke. The food was marginal and we could have made a reservation at a 5 star restaurant for that price. Shame on them for suckering people in like this."

  • "Tortilla Republic is fun and festive. The drinks are very inspired. The food is OK -- it could have been my selection. It was good enough to book our Company Xmas Party here, so it was definitely a solid B. The full package is a B+."

  • "The happy hour drinks were good, it would have been better if we could have sat down to drink them. The guacamole was a great way to wait for the entrees. The carnitas were a hit! The churros were a bit doughy inside but the key lime pie helped end things on a positive note. We will return again."

  • "Went to Tortilla Republic WeHo on the last day of DineLA for lunch. It was pretty good! We sat outside in this corner booth that was a bit small for the 4 courses we got. Started off with nachos (extra from the Dine LA prix fixe). The chips in this are excellent, but I could definitely have done with more toppings--it was slightly lacking in the meatiness. The roasted sweet corn soup was delightful, the enchiladas vegetarianas had an amazing sauce on it, and the sweet corn cake for dessert was soooo yummy! If you go with a friend, I'd suggest also getting the tequila chocolate mousse & putting it on the sweet corn cake <--flavor explosion! Service was eh. Reasonably prompt once the food actually started coming out."

  • "Hi, We enjoyed out food. The Salsa tasting and teh guacomole were superb. Our lunch was great as well. However our waiter had no personality or smile, he was very bland and our food took a very long time for a group of 7 on our lunch hour. All in all great place, just not for lunch."

  • "I can't say anything other than the bar, the drinks and the food keep me coming back, almost weekly, whether it's for business or pleasure. Always great."

  • "Tortilla Republic is always good. The carnitas are exceptional. The trio of salsa are all delicious. The waiter I have had several times, Michael is funny, personable and makes you feel welcomed at this establishment. It is fun place. The main room can get loud, so if you want to have a nice conversation, request Jake, the host for the back room or side patio."

  • "the food was great and very fresh. not at all the run of the mill Mexican faire but with all of the right elements to still satisfy the craving. the complete and total downfall was the service which was non existent... even after the hostess and manager came over tho apologize for the NO service... there was still no service. it was very strange. the servers were all engaged in some kind of drama that must have rendered them all incompetent. to bad as it was a great spot to drop into for a good vibe and a nice bite."

  • "This is the second Christmas Eve that we have dined here. The food is great. I had the vegetarian relleno which is delicious; everyone happily cleaned their plates! There were five of us at a cozy booth in back, able to talk easily. It was a perfect evening. If I could, I'd give all categories half a star more."

  • "Was looking for a good place to eat before heading to the Troubadour for a show! Right around the corner. Found Tortilla Republic! Some of the best tortilla soup ever. The Skinni margarita was perfect. Glad they had more than tequila for my whiskey-drinking date. Love the ambience and decor. Server was a little MIA, but overall this place is a gem!"

  • "Lovely. The customer service was top notch. Our waiter offered to take pictures for us, gave us a free birthday dessert, and gave the birthday boy a twenty dollar gift card for his next visit. Who does that!? Certainly helped make our night extra special."
