TorchesWe enjoyed Torches...The food here simply is delicious and beautifully presented. Unique flavors and combinations make for some truly outstanding plates. It is a bit pricey if you start ordering alcoholic beverages, but I would consider it all very reasonable for the quality of the restaurant. We had outstanding service. But they do have some excellent items. I was impressed the bartender remembered our drink order (we hadn't been there in two weeks). I also love the ambiance.
Negatives: I saw this complaint online regarding the hostess. We were at the bar for about 50 minutes past our reservation time. I have no problem with the hostess coming to us and saying that our table was ready and if we'd like to sit because it was getting late. I was annoyed she said they had more reservations. As it turned out there were plenty of open tables all night. I didn't appreciate a story being made up to get us to our table. Just tell me what time it is. I hadn't realized it was so late.

We visited on a Wednesday night at 6, and the place was almost empty. We had astounding service, the food was great, and we took home another meal's worth of leftovers. When we walked in the atmosphere was pleasant. The bar and dining area is small. Our waitress was friendly. She lit a candle and brought us a touch screen to look at the menu, which was unique to anywhere I'd been. Our waitress brought us each a small plate if sweet potato fries and dipping sause which was very good. Our caprese salad and chopped blue cheese salad were very tasty. My husband had a wine braised pot roast, while i had the fillet mignon trio (with scallops and shrimp). I ordered my filet medium, but it was closer to well dine. Overall both were delicious. Nothing on the dessert menu caught our eye, so we had a cup of coffee.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGood for Buffalo?Food a bit uneven, but mostly well considered and prepared; less adventurous but creative dishes stood out: the lasagna cupcake was exceptional with its top-notch marinara, unctiously creamy riccotta and yummy crispy salami on the bottom. The chopped steak house salad is a great idea and pleasingly presented. Cedar plank salmon also quite good, but the accompanying sweet potato wedges were not very appealing - thin-cut fries or hay would have been much better. Brussels sprouts were insanely delicious on the outside, but not cooked through; gnocchi served as an amuse-bouche was gummy and in a very unremarkable sauce. Waitress brought an Ipad with pictures of all the apps, meals and desserts for the night (great touch). Salads excellent, 1 beet, 1 chopped and 1 garbage (outstanding, presentation in a large "cocktail shaker" and poured into salad bowl), 1 app well liked. Chef was even willing to make a chage to accomadate the dinner. Dinners were 2 Filet Mignon trio. Beef done just as requested, scallops perfectly done and shrimp were wonderful. 1 plank salmon. Got raves from a person who likes salmon and has it often. I had the Pork sirloin. Never had it before, can't wait to have it again.
