  • "We waited awhile before anyone approached the tele with a greeting and water. Waiter (Vlad) was impatient with menu questions. View of water and golf course are the main draw. Food was ok. The kale slaw was good as was the black eyed peas. The cobia was well prepared with a good chimmichurri sauce. Dining companion's filet mignon was standard. Need a better beer selection. More welcoming staff would help too!"

  • "The sunset experience a this restaurant is unique. We sat at a window under the icon lighthouse at Harbour Town & watched the setting sun. We had delicious drinks and then excellent food - Redfish and oysters, great cesaer salad & crab bisque. The service from Paul was outstanding. Will return on our next vacation to Hilton Head."

  • "A lovely meal, with tables facing a gorgeous red, orange and pink sunet, encourages repeat visits to Topside. Our appetizers and main courses were expertly prepared and served promptly. Topside offers a variety of fresh fish, prepared three ways, with half a dozen sauce choices. I chose the lump crab cream sauce for my grilled mahi. The sauce was delicately spiced and did not overpower the flavor of the fish. The portions were medium sized, just right for a hunger created on the beach or golf course. The only area that needs improvement is the dessert menu, which is a bit limited in quality and scope."

  • "We enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner at this restaurant! The seafood combination is a huge plate. Quite surprising when it arrived. The scallops where the best we have ever had! Plump and cooked to perfection! Try the snickers cheesecake for dessert. It is one to remember! Overall we would recommend this lovely restaurant. Come hungry. You won't be disappointed."

  • "Went for New Year's Eve. Staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Despite a reservation, had to wait for 10-15 minutes to be seated. Then, after sitting, it took the service staff a very long time to take our order. Food was good and of decent volume. Wine selection was ok. The restaurant although not completely filled was still very noisy. Serving staff seemed stretched to the max. This restaurant aims primarily at tourists and that's fine."

  • "I have a family of picky eaters, some of whom are highly critical of restaurants. All five of us left full to the brim and very satisfied. They even provided a kids menu when my eight year old decided that nothing on the buffet suited his chicken tender/grilled cheese palette. There was something for everyone and everyone was exceptionally accommodating and pleasant. There was a child at the next table with a nut allergy and they were able to get the pastry chef on the phone to find out what she could eat. Great Thanksgiving dinner! The only difficulty I noticed was that the buffet was up two steps; so the food itself was not handicapped accessible."

  • "My husband's fresh catch was sheepshead and it was cooked perfectly with the chef's special sauce. My shrimp did not seem fresh but the pineapple salsa was excellent. Service was very attentive without being overbearing. When I commented on my shrimp they almost insisted on taking it off the bill but since we were using resort credits and I did eat it all, we insisted on paying. A nice place, but I would recommend getting the catch of the day here."

  • "Nice menu and good service with a lovely view, but noise level and close proximity of tables makes you feel as if you are at a large party instead of a relaxing evening at dinner. Fairly high price point appears justified more for the location than for the dining experience."

  • "I loved the fact that you provided seafood, traditional turkey, and other meats, I would have preferred roasted beef more like prime rib or even shoulder roast instead of brisket. The traditional dishes were good. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans casserole, I would have liked more vegetable choices....broccoli, asparagus, squash...., Salad and fruit were good options. The lobster flan type salad was good! I have to say I was disappointed in the desert selection. The small sizes were fine, but too much crust not enough yummy insides! ...sorry, I love my pecan pie....Loved having the whipped cream. Everything tasted good, that was not a problem!!! We ate plenty!!!"

  • "Our 5th Thanksgiving in a row at Topside. What a fabulous meal and extremely attentive service. The variety of offerings was amazing between seafood, meats, and unique Thanksgiving meal sides. A little on the pricey side, but worth it considering the excellent food. The turkey, brisket, and spiral sliced ham were juicy and bursting with flavor. Best dish for me was the praline pecan sweet potatoes in a chestnut purée. Service was very good and drink refills happened often and automatically. We were asked at least twice if everything was ok. We can't imagine there was a better Thanksgiving meal being served anywhere else on Hilton Head island."

  • "After many vacations at Harbourtown in Sea Pines, Hilton Head, we finally had dinner at Topside, a lovely restaurant by the Harbourtown lighthouse. Located on the second floor, Topside has a gorgeaous panoramic view of the ocean and the 18th green of the Harbourtown golf course. The staff is polite, helpful and efficient, making this a "white table cloth and crystal" type of dining experience. The menu consists of a wide variety of local seafood, prepared to order, with many sauce and seasoning options. Our waiter made suggestions about the white fish of the day and its perparation that proved to be not only helpful but delicious. Topside- the perfect spot for lovely sunsets and excellent food."

  • "The restaurant was empty & there were plenty of open tables with a nice view. I asked the hostess nicely if she can move us to a different table because my husband and I were seated in the corner where you can hardly see anything! I actually picked this restaurant because of the view! I wanted to have good pictures while we were having dinner by the water! She said she can't move us because all of tables are reserved! 2 hours passed, nobody came to the restaurant & we're hid in the corner! Nobody has ever made me feel so low like this in my life! It made us feel like we weren't welcome, like we were nobody or not good enough to eat in this restaurant. Btw to describe the hostess, she is short and dark skinned. Our special day was ruined!"

  • "The place was nearly empty for the beautiful sunset. The wait staff may have been bored, but, to bring the appetizer and salad at the same time is terrible. I told the server not to bring the entree to soon, but it still arrived before I wanted. It must have been sitting for a while because it was only warm, not hot as it should have been. Bourbon pecan pie was perfect, though. We've been there before and the service was better."

  • "We celebrated my wife's birthday and dinner was perfect. We watched the sun set, enjoyed delicious appetizers of mussels and calimari, and tasty entrees. Our server, Kiersten, was friendly and professional. She smiled throughout our entire dinner and seemed to enjoy her job. The managers were present as well, a nice touch. The only advice I would give... please do not clear dishes until all diners have finished that course. Thanks for a great meal!"

The Ahi Tuna app was a perfect start however the special for the night was a surf and turf (crab stuffed lobster and filet). I expected a lot better than it actually was. Don't get me wrong, it was not bad food, it just seemed to be missing something. The service was great and the sunset view over the sound was very nice."

  • "This was our first time to try this restaurant. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. We had a great view and the fine dining began! Our waiter was top rate and the serving crew were all on their toes. There were four in our group and we all were pleased with the food and felt it was the best we've eaten while in Sea Pines. No need to travel outside the gates for a top rate meal at a price very reasonable for this type service and quality food. This restaurant is now at the top of our list and we'll go again and again. Great place to celebrate a special occasion."

We have been coming to the Island and Harbourtown for 15 years and this is our first trip to this restaurant. We have been missing out, very good food, service and a great view!   • "Could not have been better. The hostess was quick to seat us and fullfilled my request of a table upstairs by the window. Great view of the water and actvity down below. Our waiter Bru was a professional and really knew how to tale care of customers. The food was was outstanding and worth price. We statrted with the calamari and it was great. The fresh seafood also was excellent and left no room for desert. Definately will return."
