Great spot in the western suburbs!Quality ingredients + creative cooking = inspired and tastey dishes worth every penny. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, so for many it is only for special occasions, but it's not to be missed! We were there for Mother's Day and it was crowded for dinner, but the food was still outstanding. I was just disappointed they didn't do something extra for the woman ...a flower when leaving, a special amuse bouche, something ... besides wishing a happy Mother's Day.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMALWAYS A PLEASUREWe're never disappointed; service is great and so is the food.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night outServer was aware of everything. Not overbearing, but one step ahead whenever we needed something.
Went with 8 family members. Everyone's food was good. A couple people had the bone-in steak and said it was the best they'd ever had. Braised rib tips were excellent.
Not a mind-blowing experience, just consistently very good all-around dining.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem in the western suburbsLet me say...Topaz was a pleasant surprise. The service was very fast, very attentive, and very courteous. I did not have to ask for anything, the wait staff refreshed my water before my glass was empty (empty water glasses have been an epidemic at many other restaurants), brought bread, cleaned the table of crumbs quickly and politely, changed silverware with every appetizer and entree, cleared plates with aplomb and were very nice. I recommend the Scallops, chocolate beignets, filet mignon cooked medium rare, fried sprouts (strong aftertatste but delicious) and tuna tartare. Valet parking is $5. There is free parking nearby (a half block) in the shopping center parking garage. Nice outdoor dining during nice weather.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden gemTopaz is a gem hidden among a high-end strip mall. The food is creative, portioned appropriately and delicious. The service rivals the best with great touches such as: black napkins given when wearing dark clothes, "crumbing" the white tablecloth, super fast and efficient table clearing after each course, and a server that is always there when you need them but not hovering. The manager/owner (not sure which he was)came to check on us no less than 3 times on a busy Saturday night. The prices are expensive but it was a memorable and enjoyable experience. My wife was thrilled to find it's located directly across from the famous Kohler Spa - next time will be massages and then lunch with her friends.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and great food.Great service and great food. Just perfect for our out of town guets!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Topaz is "city dining" in the suburbs! Another outstanding experience... We enjoyed the appetizer special, both the beet and endive salads were wonderful! For a Lenten Friday, we enjoyed meatless entrees with delectable taste - Alaskan Halibut & the Porcini Ravioli. Beignets for dessert were sinful! Our server, Kasani was also wonderful - very personable and provided great recommendations. Thank you for a great experience!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMthe Staff, cindy, the Chef, the Staff, cindy, the Chef, and the host were all great. the food is very good and it changes with the seasons. If you are in the western suburbs, you must check this place out. A little pricey, but it is Burr Ridge.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoy Topaz. PerhapsAlways enjoy Topaz. Perhaps Sunday night wasn't best food night. This was our least enjoyable food evening of perhaps ten times we've been. Great consistent service and such a great feel.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding service and aOutstanding service and a great meal. The grilled calamari appetizer was the best I've ever had. The rest of the mean was very good, however, I do wish that everything wasn't dripping in butter. Delicious, yes, but difficult to eat healthy.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Topaz. What a beautiful place situated in downtown Burr Ridge. The ambiance is inviting and beautifully done. The waiter explained the menu and gave us his recommendations. We both had seafood which was prepared well and tasty. We liked the three types of fresh bread that are offered with the meal. We had a table in the middle of the room, and although crowded, we were able to talk without shouting. We plan to make another trip in a month or so.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMwatch what you orderService was excellent. But, watch what you order. We were convinced by chef and waitress to get special Tomahawk ribeye special, DO NOT GET, it was for 2 but the bone was bigger than the steak and was way too fatty and 88 dollars later ruined the main course. Otherwise all was good.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
