The waitress visited our table maybe 3 times the whole meal. Got our orders wrong. It was our first time there and it was our anniversary. When we rsvp'd a time and table at Top of the Rock they asked if we would be dining there for any special occasion we said yes our anniversary and then they concluded to say we would get complimentary champagne. When we arrived at the restaurant there was no mention or question if there was a special occasion and throughout the entire meal to the end nothing was ever said or done. Definitely overrated.

What a gorgeous setting and wonderful view. I could imagine the architect seeing what he envisioned before it was built. What a perfect spot! It won't be the last time for us. We are already planning a brunch. We watched the sun set from our dining table while having a glass of wine and eating our appetizer. Our server, Laveda could not have given us better service. Just the right amount of time between courses. Had the answer to every question. Changed our tableware in-between courses. Perfect size napkins. Did not have to ask for extra napkins as we do at most restaurants. Presentation of our foods was over the top. Food tastes complimented each other. Good chef.

We recently went to Top Of The Rock for our 5th Anniversary. I asked for a table outside & mentioned it was an Anniversary dinner. When we arrived we were seated at the end table outside which had a free bottle of champaigne ready. The view, champagne, rosemary infused cocktail, meat & cheese appetizer were awwwsome! The food & the service were good. The ambiance was GREAT!! We found out they have a great HH... That's what I'll go for next time. LOVE the infused alcohol!

My husband and I were looking forward to dinner at this cool looking restaurant situated on top of a rock. The indoor architecture is beautiful and there is a pretty evening view of Tempe. Unfortunately, the service & food was sadly disappointing. We sat for over 30 minutes in the 'lounge' without being approached by the staff regarding drinks. We asked about going downstairs to the 'bar', but were then told that it had closed 4 years ago (even though the sign is still on the building). Once seated for dinner, the food served was embarrassing. The crab stuffed filet, came out in 2 pieces the size of diver scallops with a small smear of potato, and 3 baby carrots on the plate. We both left the restaurant hungry, even after a measly desert.

My request for a window view was honored. from the host to our server (Jamie)and the other people including manager were excellent. Our food was great - Jamie explained everything and she made suggestions. We felt special and never lacked for a thing. We loved all of our courses and had fun sharing and trying each other's dishes. We will be back - we love the food and of course, the views are breathtaking. good place to bring your family or that special person in your life.

I have had this restaurant on my list of places to try for a very long time! It lived up to everything I expected however it was a little bright inside the restaurant. It could have been a little darker and been perfect. The food was incredible! My friend and I went for restaurant week and I ordered the T.O.R. House Salad, Brown Butter Seared Scottish Salmon, and the Ancho Chile Chocolate Ganache and honestly all three were spectacular! We also tried the Local Organic Kale Caesar since the entrees were delayed and both salads were incredible. I ordered my salmon medium rare and it was perfectly cooked and the chocolate ganache was to die for. I will for sure be back! Can't wait and thanks for using local food!

The food was so horrible, I'll never come back. I took my best friend for her birthday, and spent more than 200.00. and I would have been better off getting a pizza. My husband and I thought we were taking her someplace great, and we were there several years ago, it was great then. The food was cold, the filet was overcooked...the veggie was barely there. The only thing that was good was the salad. The bread was stale and the spread they served with it had no flavor.

I always have a good time here. Service is always outstanding. I used a promo code for free champagne for an anniversary. I wasn't sure when the waiters normally bring out the champagne. At one point, I thought they forgot and I had to ask for it, which ruined the surprise for my date. Aside from that, great experience as always.

My partner and I came here to celebrate his birthday. It was restaurant week and so we took advantage of it. We had an amazing three course meal. Each course was excellent. The outdoor seating was great because of the view. Jane was our waitress who topped off the experience by being very friendly and shared a little bit if history about the place (only because we asked). I would go back for a special occasion, but probably not out of the blue only because it was spendy. But for a special occasion, it was well worth it!

We went here for 1 of our last outings prior to having our 1st child, and were expecting a nice experience. The service was the slowest we've ever had. From the 1st- last course, we waited longer than was acceptable, as the server repeatedly returned to make excuses, interrupting conversation every time. Other tables came and went around us before we got to finish our main course. The worst part was that my salmon was raw! The server didn't offer to take my husband's plate to be kept warm while I waited. He had almost finished his meal before my plate returned. The replating was rushed, missing the original topping that was on the salmon. Serving a pregnant woman raw fish should have warranted at least a table visit, but no manager came.

Everyone raved how wonderful the food is. The portions were incredibly small. The salmon was quite fishy. The kale also tasted fishy and was bitter. The polenta was chewy. Although the view is spectacular I was not at all impressed with the food and had wished I had gone elsewhere. I probably would've spent the same and enjoyed my food a lot more.

I'm sure the food is good on most days. We attended a special 7 course from 7 chefs brunch. The food was terrible. This was not a course as indicated when I booked it was a tasting. Small portion for 2 to share. I should have asked about the menu. It was brains, tar tar, cheek and a few others that I did not enjoy. I tried each one but the flavors were not good. You need to make sure your guest understand what type of food you are serving when they book a reservation.

We made reservations here to celebrate my dad's 73rd birthday. The service was VERY good. We never felt smothered by service or like our server was nowhere to be found. I would highly recommend the AZ Mule as a pre-dinner drink. Very light and refreshing for an Arizona summer evening. Dinner was very good, everyone enjoyed the salad, entree, and dessert. My wife and I did the wine pairings, but were very underwhelmed. Not really worth the extra expense, I would have rather had a bottle of wine of my choosing. Overall, very nice evening spent with my parents that we will remember for a long time to come. SUGGESTION: Be aware of what time sunset is because it can be VERY bright and HOT with the sun beaming in the windows.

We had a very nice dinner at Top of the Rock. Ribeye steak was cooked very well and the Marlin was excellent. Outstanding view and very good service. It was a little loud at times, and I'd like to see a couple more entree choices, but Top of the Rock is now on our list of Phoenix restaurants that we enjoy.

Each year we try and pick a unique spot to have a wedding anniversary dinner with a view. Top of the Rock Restaurant did not disappoint. It is on our list with the Compass Room, Alchemy, and Orange Sky. Isn't as formal as the Compass Room, or as trendy as Alchemy or Orange Sky, but the view is great, the menu interesting, has a relatively good wine list, and easily accessible off of the Broadway Curve. I had a salmon dish with polenta and kale; well prepared and served at the right temperature, and comparable to a salmon dish from Orange Sky. My wife had a playful, fun, and delicious crispy chicken and brioche dish. We both enjoyed our meal, the service was commendable and appropriately attentive, and the ambiance romantic.

The first time I went to this restaurant was some years back. Awesome views from atop the mountain. Romantic and just an overall feeling of special with the food and service. At that time, the attached lounge was alive with a great band and dancing. On this occasion (wife's birthday August 8) same good food and service but the venue was a small crowd. Not romantic. Children at the next table and no soft music or candlelight. The lounge was dark and not even open for business. Disappointed that there was nothing more to offer other than dinner. I will not repeat in the "off season."

Make sure you get a window seat...most are. The Spicy Guacamole was awesome! Plenty for two people. Was there for our anniversary and they gave us a bottle of champagne on the house and a nice dessert to share. The waitress was awesome! Everything came at a nice pace and was very good. Greeted at the front and was sat down pretty easily without any troubles. We were a bit concerned about this placed because of the many sauces to cover the meats. The food took a little more than expected to come out. It was plated very nicely I'll give you this much. Crispy Chicken and Brioche- I basically had fried chicken with thinly sliced fingerlings, some were cooked and some under cooked. It had a hint of bacon but it didnt mix will with the hard potatoes. The plate was not worth 25-30 range. Should have paid around 10-15.00 for this dish and still it was not amazing, less than average. Fiance had the Quail with Risotto-Quail very good, was ask to lessen butter oils on greens, came out drinched, Risotto undercooked.

It has a very beautiful room - stone, wood, glass. But we wished they'd find somewhere to put sound-absorbing material, as it was VERY LOUD, with raucous music playing somewhere that only added to the noise. Service was very good, as was the food. Menu a bit limited, but prices more reasonable than one might expect from the location and decor.

My wife and I visited Top of the Rock to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and we were thrilled with the restaurant. We were seated near a window immediately and, as the sun began to set, downtown Phoenix was backlit in the distance. Beautiful. The service was nearly as spectacular as the view. Our server was extremely attentive and repeatedly wished us a happy anniversary. She made sure that our dinner courses arrived on schedule and was very pleasant throughout. The food was excellent, too. We both had the recommended three-course dinner, and each was tasty and very well-presented. If you're looking for a place to take a special someone we recommend Top of the Rock. This could become our new "Anniversary Place".

We had previously gone here with adult friends and we were a little concerned about bringing our 9- and 13-year old but, we needn't have worried! Our server was very accommodating and we were even given a table with really good views. There was a thunderstorm that evening too and we were treated to a really awesome lightning show. Food was great and they even changed up my 9-year old's dinner so that the sauce was not too spicy. We were celebrating dad's birthday so this is definitely a place we can go back to for special celebrations - it is a little pricey for just a regular "let's eat out for dinner tonight" event.

We ate at Top Of The Rock on July 5th as we were guests at the hotel. My salmon dish was served completely undercooked and cold in the center and had to be sent back. I waited without any food while the other guests completely finished their meal. All the food was just ok but nothing to rave about. The atmosphere and view is great however the bathroom is very inconvenient. You must go down an elevator to an area that looks like a banquet room with all the lights off and empty.
