  • "We ate at Top Of The Rock on July 5th as we were guests at the hotel. My salmon dish was served completely undercooked and cold in the center and had to be sent back. I waited without any food while the other guests completely finished their meal. All the food was just ok but nothing to rave about. The atmosphere and view is great however the bathroom is very inconvenient. You must go down an elevator to an area that looks like a banquet room with all the lights off and empty."

  • "We went out for a Birthday celebration (7 people) on July 3rd about 7:30 that evening. The crispy chicken was a little too crispy - over deep fried - making the chicken dry and tough (2 dishes received that way). The birthday persons meal was sent back."

  • "I made reservations they sat us exactly where I asked. Our waitress was really polite and accommodating. I took my date here we sat outside the view of the valley. All in all I would recommend Top of The Rock to anyone who is looking to impress their date"

  • "The restaurant is very cozy yet cheerful. I love the big windows from floor to ceiling . They have local wine menu (must try). The service was excellent. The only negative thing is the menu. They need to update it a bit, add more entrees and add healthier choices (just less oil). Otherwise it is a great place for your special occasion."

  • "Picked this spot for a romantic birthday dinner as we were guest of hotel. Was surprised that they used a paper menu and was confusing to read. Choices were limited, but the steak was great. Dress was a little too casual for a place like this. People looked like they were dressed for an in and out vs nice restraunt. Service was so so and free champaign from code was not offered although when I mentioned it they sent to room with cute dessert with happy birthday note. Also bathroom was closed for construction which was a little weird..."

  • "What a fantastic way to have dinner, from the moment you walk in the host was friendly and just overall fantastic. Our waiter recommended all the superb wines and recommended us one of her special items from the menus and may I add the food here is amazing along with the beautiful scenic view while enjoying the nice ambience of this top quality restaurant !!"

  • "We celebrated my son's birthday here, after not dining here in several years. We were delighted! The views of course, remained wonderful, the menu updated and quite interesting, and all the dishes were very delicious. We also enjoyed our server. We will not let so much time pass before our next visit - it was all great!"

  • "The food was good, above-average but nothing life-changing. The view was astounding, though; the best view in Phoenix dining. Make a reservation so you can get the best seating for it!"

She made us very welcome and put my skepticism at rest. Will surely recommend your place and will beback with friends when in the future."

Every staff member was friendly and attentive especially our server, Madison! She was wonderful and we could not have wished for a more perfect evening! The crispy chicken and sea bass were delicious! Thank you!!!"

  • "My wife and I had high hopes heading in to this scenic restaurant. It has beautiful views of the Phoenix valley, and the restaurant has a great Maori roundhouse feel to it. I understand that it was 106 degrees outside, but let's turn on the AC, it must have been 84 degrees at our table. Also, the limited menu provided the most overpriced dishes I've ever had. I had a filet, which was $44, which turned out to be good, and perfectly prepared---and 44 bucks. The only thing that my wife was willing to order- due to the over elaborate menu, was a vegetable medley, that was very complex and had all the random garden trimmings you'd hope they'd have forgotten. But hey, the waitress was very nice, and our service was prompt- but damn it was hot"

  • "Ask for and got the best table in house for viewing the sunset and then watching the lights of Phoenix come on. The plates were a pleasure to the eye as well. Waitress was attentive and a pleasure to chat with. Made reservation of the internet and they considered all our requests."

  • "Went in for restaraunt week the food was amazing. The service on the other hand was not very good we never received any bread and after ordering drinks only time we saw our server was at the end of eating our desserts and to hand us the bill. Waters went empty and never was asked about getting another glass of wine but on a positive note, We will return again and enjoy the amazing sunset views and great food this restaraunt has to offer and hopefully the service will be better. • "I took my wife to this restaurant for our anniversary. I felt embarrassed as we left because I knew my wife was not happy about the dinner. My wife ordered the Filet and the steak was very over cooked. It was tough and hard to cut with a steak knife. We were charged extra for substituting sides (which would have been fine if we were told) The bread was stale and tasted old. Our server came to our table maybe 3 times the whole night. It was just not good. The only thing we enjoyed was the dessert. The homemade ice cream sundae was pretty good. I have already told my friends not to go there. We spent way too much for dinner. We could have had better steaks at Applebees. "

  • "Scenic view and good food, however, service was at times slow and they did not carry my scotch choice which almost all restaurants cary."

  • "We were visting Phoenix from out of town and searched Open Table for Restaurants. Top of the Rock intrigued us because of the view. When we checked it out we found they had a special offer if you were celebrating an event such as a birthday or anniversary they were offering free champagne. We put the code "free bubbly" on our reservation because it was our anniversary. We were greeted with "happy anniversary" by the host an we were also treated to a free dessert with "happy anniversary" on the plate. The food was very good, service was excellent. A very enjoyable evening."

  • "Food was delicious and portions generous. My steak was on the cool side when served, unfortunately, but delicious. Menu had unusual / uncommon selections and descriptions. We, as a couple, tried some of the new dishes unfamiliar to us. They were worth trying...tasty. A bit expensive. The music could have been more quiet for our romantic evening on Mothers Day."

  • "I can't think of any improvements you could make it was great last year and outstanding this year. Mom loved it the only difference was we did not have my father with us but your staff made up for it with their caring and upbeat personality's...:) The manager was extremely attentive and was checking on every single table and the Champagne was excellent. The staff at every station were so wonderful and the guy at the pork belly(YUM) station was very cute and funny...We had a great time and also we didn't feel rushed so the experience was awesome. Thank you all for helping us and MOM on her Day!!!"

  • "My wife and I went here to celebrate a special anniversary. We dined at Top of the Rock before and loved it. Unfortunately, it has been changed. It is no longer a sophisticated, high-class establishment. The menu is a piece of paper wrapped around your napkin. There are no tablecloths. Wait staff is very average. The best thing on the menu is a burger and French fries which are served on a metal tray like you would expect in a high school cafeteria. Do not go here if you are looking for an elegant, romantic dinner."

  • "If you are going to have a restaurant with a spectacular view, you should clean the windows EVERY DAY. If you go before the sun sets, asked to be moved or you will sweat to death. Food is mediocre. Wait staff are very kind. If you pay these prices, you would expect your table NOT to be a sticky wood dining site (think of your local cheap steak house)."

  • "The place was clean and was fairly busy for a Tuesday night. I asked for a table with a view via the open table interface and was given a great view for sure. The hostess greeted us but with a lack-luster attitude and didn't look anyone in the eye nor smile. The server was polite but again no smile or energy. The menu was folded up wrapped around the table setting which I found a bit odd for this being at a fairly nice resort. The menu prices where a bit steep but the restaurant claimed to use locally sourced food as much as they can but no sides come with the entrees. The food lacked seasoning. We asked for bread but the server forgot it. We had the brownie for dessert which would have been much better if the brownie was hot."

  • "Comparable to the Compass Grille at the Hyatt in downtown Phoenix--similar food, ambience, etc. However, Top of the Rock had a more quaint, quieter, neighborhoody feel. I don't know if it was because there weren't too many guests sitting inside where we were or not, but the staff seemed to really care, unlike at the Compass where it's either a hit or miss with your waiter (they're either nice, or they seem to think they're too good for you), which sometimes makes the Compass a little haughty. What blew me away was that when my dad mentioned to the hostess that he forgot his reading glasses and couldn't read the menu, she brought out 2 pairs of reading glasses from the back for him! Food was amazing, view was great. It really is a gem."

  • "My wife and I went out for a romantic evening sans kids. I had heard of the Top of the Rock from a family member. But she didn't tell me it was going to be this amazing. We parked below the restaurant in the hotel parking. Giving us a chance to walk up a beautiful walk way adorned with flowers greener and rocks.. The high vaulted ceiling, open dining plan and visible kitchen were just amazing. We were seated by the window over looking phoenix. The menu was short and sweet. We ordered the guacamole appetizer and we weren't let down. My wife ordered the Pork tacos and I had the top sirloin. Both meals were cooked to perfection. If we hadn't have been so stuffed we would've tried the desert menu. Definitely coming again!"

  • "We had a party of 5 and arrived at 6;30 pm. We did not get out of there until 9:30 pm, not something we planned for. Several other parties came, ate and left while we were still there! Dinner was ok, not bad, not spectacular. The waitress was very nice but seemed to have tables spread out all over (not in just one section) and was hard to get a hold of. We waited for everything and they were not that busy, several empty tables. I noticed hamburgers seemed to get out of the kitchen quickly but our parties entrees took forever! The view at night is spectacular! Go, sit outside, have a couple drinks, watch the sun set but eat dinner somewhere else."

  • "Just over 20 years ago my mother-in-law brought us here for our anniversary. The view of the city hasn't changed. Then, the restaurant had white linen tablecloths and a traditional upscale menu and and a wait staff to match. Today, you have to hunt for some one from valet to park your car. Valet has no idea if there is an elevator; the downstairs bar is vacant and no signage. Access is a long walk around the back of the building. We had a 5:30 PM reservation. The hostess was too busy on the phone to even acknowledge us. Our waitress took us to our table; she was excellent the whole time. The tables are uncovered and the paper menu is wrapped around the napkin. Kale is not a caesar salad. We opted for traditional ribeye steak dinner."

  • "This is one of our favorite spots in the Phoenix area. Ask for an outside table. These tables have beautiful views of Phoenix and are usually quiet. My husband had the rib eye which he proclaimed to be one of the best he has had. My chicken was good but the sides were cold. Our server was efficient but not very friendly."
