  • "Each year we try and pick a unique spot to have a wedding anniversary dinner with a view. Top of the Rock Restaurant did not disappoint. It is on our list with the Compass Room, Alchemy, and Orange Sky. Isn't as formal as the Compass Room, or as trendy as Alchemy or Orange Sky, but the view is great, the menu interesting, has a relatively good wine list, and easily accessible off of the Broadway Curve. I had a salmon dish with polenta and kale; well prepared and served at the right temperature, and comparable to a salmon dish from Orange Sky. My wife had a playful, fun, and delicious crispy chicken and brioche dish. We both enjoyed our meal, the service was commendable and appropriately attentive, and the ambiance romantic."

  • "The first time I went to this restaurant was some years back. Awesome views from atop the mountain. Romantic and just an overall feeling of special with the food and service. At that time, the attached lounge was alive with a great band and dancing. On this occasion (wife's birthday August 8) same good food and service but the venue was a small crowd. Not romantic. Children at the next table and no soft music or candlelight. The lounge was dark and not even open for business. Disappointed that there was nothing more to offer other than dinner. I will not repeat in the "off season.""

  • "Pros: Nice view, service and food was good. Free glass of champagne was very nice. Cons: Seems a little dated and if paying $44 for a filet, it would be nice to be able to get bernaise sauce."

  • "Went on a night when it was a little cloudy and there was scattered rain and thunderstorms in the area...great view of the changing weather and lightening from there! Make sure you get a window seat...most are. The Spicy Guacamole was awesome! Plenty for two people. Was there for our anniversary and they gave us a bottle of champagne on the house and a nice dessert to share. The waitress was awesome! Everything came at a nice pace and was very good. Would definitely take other there."

  • "Delicious meal complimented by top-notch service. Our server went out of her way to make our anniversary evening truly one to remember. We will absolutely recommend this restaurant to all our friends and family, and for any occasion!"

  • "Greeted at the front and was sat down pretty easily without any troubles. We were a bit concerned about this placed because of the many sauces to cover the meats. The food took a little more than expected to come out. It was plated very nicely I'll give you this much. Crispy Chicken and Brioche- I basically had fried chicken with thinly sliced fingerlings, some were cooked and some under cooked. It had a hint of bacon but it didnt mix will with the hard potatoes. The plate was not worth 25-30 range. Should have paid around 10-15.00 for this dish and still it was not amazing, less than average. Fiance had the Quail with Risotto-Quail very good, was ask to lessen butter oils on greens, came out drinched, Risotto undercooked."

  • "It has a very beautiful room - stone, wood, glass. But we wished they'd find somewhere to put sound-absorbing material, as it was VERY LOUD, with raucous music playing somewhere that only added to the noise. Service was very good, as was the food. Menu a bit limited, but prices more reasonable than one might expect from the location and decor."

  • "Great hotel restaurant with views of the city. All the staff were friendly. Valet parking is complimentary which is a plus since a walk from the parking lot up hill would be a chore. We don't eat meat (fish is okay) and we had ample options. We'll certainly be back."

  • "My wife and I visited Top of the Rock to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and we were thrilled with the restaurant. We were seated near a window immediately and, as the sun began to set, downtown Phoenix was backlit in the distance. Beautiful. The service was nearly as spectacular as the view. Our server was extremely attentive and repeatedly wished us a happy anniversary. She made sure that our dinner courses arrived on schedule and was very pleasant throughout. The food was excellent, too. We both had the recommended three-course dinner, and each was tasty and very well-presented. If you're looking for a place to take a special someone we recommend Top of the Rock. This could become our new "Anniversary Place"."

  • "My boyfriend and I were celebrating his birthday. The food was wonderful and the desert did not disappoint. The ambiance was so romantic and the views breathtaking. We are still talking about it and will return when we are down in Phoenix. Lovely restaurant."

  • "We had previously gone here with adult friends and we were a little concerned about bringing our 9- and 13-year old but, we needn't have worried! Our server was very accommodating and we were even given a table with really good views. There was a thunderstorm that evening too and we were treated to a really awesome lightning show. Food was great and they even changed up my 9-year old's dinner so that the sauce was not too spicy. We were celebrating dad's birthday so this is definitely a place we can go back to for special celebrations - it is a little pricey for just a regular "let's eat out for dinner tonight" event."

  • "We ate at Top Of The Rock on July 5th as we were guests at the hotel. My salmon dish was served completely undercooked and cold in the center and had to be sent back. I waited without any food while the other guests completely finished their meal. All the food was just ok but nothing to rave about. The atmosphere and view is great however the bathroom is very inconvenient. You must go down an elevator to an area that looks like a banquet room with all the lights off and empty."

  • "We went out for a Birthday celebration (7 people) on July 3rd about 7:30 that evening. The crispy chicken was a little too crispy - over deep fried - making the chicken dry and tough (2 dishes received that way). The birthday persons meal was sent back."

  • "I made reservations they sat us exactly where I asked. Our waitress was really polite and accommodating. I took my date here we sat outside the view of the valley. All in all I would recommend Top of The Rock to anyone who is looking to impress their date"

  • "The restaurant is very cozy yet cheerful. I love the big windows from floor to ceiling . They have local wine menu (must try). The service was excellent. The only negative thing is the menu. They need to update it a bit, add more entrees and add healthier choices (just less oil). Otherwise it is a great place for your special occasion."

  • "Picked this spot for a romantic birthday dinner as we were guest of hotel. Was surprised that they used a paper menu and was confusing to read. Choices were limited, but the steak was great. Dress was a little too casual for a place like this. People looked like they were dressed for an in and out vs nice restraunt. Service was so so and free champaign from code was not offered although when I mentioned it they sent to room with cute dessert with happy birthday note. Also bathroom was closed for construction which was a little weird..."

She made us very welcome and put my skepticism at rest. Will surely recommend your place and will beback with friends when in the future."

Every staff member was friendly and attentive especially our server, Madison! She was wonderful and we could not have wished for a more perfect evening! The crispy chicken and sea bass were delicious! Thank you!!!"

  • "We celebrated my son's birthday here, after not dining here in several years. We were delighted! The views of course, remained wonderful, the menu updated and quite interesting, and all the dishes were very delicious. We also enjoyed our server. We will not let so much time pass before our next visit - it was all great!"

  • "My wife and I had high hopes heading in to this scenic restaurant. It has beautiful views of the Phoenix valley, and the restaurant has a great Maori roundhouse feel to it. I understand that it was 106 degrees outside, but let's turn on the AC, it must have been 84 degrees at our table. Also, the limited menu provided the most overpriced dishes I've ever had. I had a filet, which was $44, which turned out to be good, and perfectly prepared---and 44 bucks. The only thing that my wife was willing to order- due to the over elaborate menu, was a vegetable medley, that was very complex and had all the random garden trimmings you'd hope they'd have forgotten. But hey, the waitress was very nice, and our service was prompt- but damn it was hot"

  • "Went in for restaraunt week the food was amazing. The service on the other hand was not very good we never received any bread and after ordering drinks only time we saw our server was at the end of eating our desserts and to hand us the bill. Waters went empty and never was asked about getting another glass of wine but on a positive note, We will return again and enjoy the amazing sunset views and great food this restaraunt has to offer and hopefully the service will be better. "

  • "I took my wife to this restaurant for our anniversary. I felt embarrassed as we left because I knew my wife was not happy about the dinner. My wife ordered the Filet and the steak was very over cooked. It was tough and hard to cut with a steak knife. We were charged extra for substituting sides (which would have been fine if we were told) The bread was stale and tasted old. Our server came to our table maybe 3 times the whole night. It was just not good. The only thing we enjoyed was the dessert. The homemade ice cream sundae was pretty good. I have already told my friends not to go there. We spent way too much for dinner. We could have had better steaks at Applebees. "

  • "We were visting Phoenix from out of town and searched Open Table for Restaurants. Top of the Rock intrigued us because of the view. When we checked it out we found they had a special offer if you were celebrating an event such as a birthday or anniversary they were offering free champagne. We put the code "free bubbly" on our reservation because it was our anniversary. We were greeted with "happy anniversary" by the host an we were also treated to a free dessert with "happy anniversary" on the plate. The food was very good, service was excellent. A very enjoyable evening."
