Top of the MarkBreakfast BuffetI dined at Top of the Mark on a Saturday morning for their buffet. The food was tasty but with a buffet-style breakfast, some of the food was cooler than if ordered from the kitchen. The views were gorgeous and the service was prompt and friendly. I hope to return soon to see what the restaurant is for dinner.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding BrunchI had a table with a great view and was served by the attentive Michael. The buffet offerings were amazing: skirt steak with mushrooms, oysters on the half shell, cracked crab, caviar station with blinis, smoked fish, prime rib, and omelet station, to name a few. The meal includes champagne, orange juice, and coffee. The desserts include the famous Mark Hopkins bread pudding, nectarine cobbler (with vanilla ice cream a la mode), assorted French pastries, and many others. Bravissimo!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing BrunchTop of the Mark serves an outstanding Sunday champagne brunch. I was served by the attentive Jose, and I had a view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts from my table. There is a caviar station with blinis, oysters on the half shell, cracked crab, shrimp, smoked fish, fresh fruit, salads, prime rib au jus with horseradish, ahi tuna, roast duck with beets and spinach, and many desserts, including a Brandy Alexander (which is an interesting cobbler served in a glass) as well as the famous Mark Hopkins Bread Pudding and assorted French pastries. There are many other items as well. The champagne, orange juice, and coffee are excellent. There is a great variety of excellent dishes. Live piano and great service, too. We all spent the night in the hotel and had drinks the afternoon before and brunch the following day. I have never seen such a caring display by all of those we encountered. From the birthday deserts in his room and at the table to the wonderful surprise monogrammed handkerchief the staff gave him. As well, it was the most gorgeous and scrumptuous layout for a brunch I have ever witnessed. Absolutely perfect!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for lunch. The foodWe went for lunch.
