Diner Reviews
  • "The view is amazing. The food is good but nothing spectacular. You're paying for the view not the food. "

  • "I would recommend Top of the Hub for a special occasion. It is expensive but well worth the price. The quality of the food was superb, beautifully presented, and great service. The portions were generous, not nouvelle cuisine where you leave hungry. In fact we barely had room left to share one of the delicious desserts. Treat yourself to a fabulous dinner with a great view of Boston!"

  • "You definitely pay for the view! Food was ok - not a lot on the plate :( If I was to come back it would only be for drinks and a desert."

  • "I took my wife to The Top of the Hub to celebrate her 60th birthday. I requested a seat with a view on my reservation and was pleasantly surprised that infact, we were seated by the window. This added to the wonderful dinner that was served along with great service. The night was capped off wonderfully by the special birthday dessert with lit candle that was presented to my wife. I highly recommend the Top of the Hub for making special celebrations truely special."

  • "Unbelievable experience. View was amazing. Menu prices were high but I had already seen them first. Food was absolutely delicious. Service was top notch. Will definitely get back there at some point"

  • "My friend and I dined at Top of the Hub while on vacation and considered this our "fancy" meal. Although the place seemed a bit too fancy for us, we had a very enjoyable time. The gentleman who seated us changed our table so we could have a good view and it was! We saw the sun set over east Boston and it was amazing! Our waiter was very professional and did his job excellent, although we tried our best to get him to laugh. We got him to by the end of our meal, which made the experience complete. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent and the view was AMAZING. Would definitely return for a meal if ever in Boston again."

  • "Top of the Hub has amazing views of Boston on all sides. We were sat by the window on the Charles River side. There was a nice sunset which we had a great view of. The service was good. The good was good, not great. My fiancé ordered the 3 course meal with Scallops. They were cooked well but the rice/couscous it came with was rather bland. I had the 10 oz filet mignon which I ordered medium rare. The center was more rare which was fine for me, better than overcooked. The plate itself was monotone with white potatoes and light colored spaghetti squash. Not the best meal we've had for the price but you pay for the views! All in all a great start to the night where I later proposed at home to my now fiancé that I will never forget!"

  • "Booked this restaurant for an anniversary meal and per dinner drinks. Saw reviews and also heard about the view. The views are amazing and well worth a visit for that alone. Had a menu with paired wines. Good value at the price. The food was good but not exceptional as one would have expected given the location. My wife had scallops and couscous, the scallops were good but the sauce nearly drowned the couscous being so wet. Overall the service from Tom was very good with him having a god knowledge of the menu and the wines accompanying the course."

  • "Dinner was amazing. My friends and I do not usually go to expensive dinners and this would not be something to do often, but it was amazing and worth every dollar."

  • "Service was poor. It was a Monday - two people for lunch. The place was empty. Took 45 minutes to get a pizza. Not worth the price. Management never apologized for the long wait. The only nice thing is the view."

  • "We decided to go to this restaurant to celebrate our daughter’s 20th birthday. It was one of our best decisions! Excellent food, friendly services, spectacular view, and easy on-line reservations, made our experience truly remarkable. We would definitely come here again."

  • "We chose this restaurant for the view. I have wanted to try it for years, so my husband booked it for my birthday. We arrived at our designated time, having booked well in advance, and requested a window table. They could not find our reservation. We showed them the confirmation on our smart phone, but they did not even look at it. They gave us what was clearly the worst table. In the corner, near the waiters station, far from any windows or view. It was my birthday and rather disappointing. We had theater tickets and could not wait an 90 minutes for a better table. The food was fine. We both had the Ciopino and it was a little bland, had no crab or lobster, lots of salmon. I have had better. Lobster soup was good. Salad too."

  • "Great location, but had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes. The views are great, we had a wonderful waiter. Food was ok not great. Very expensive."

  • "The views are gorgeous but only if you are seated near the window. Tables were too close together. Had hoped for better seating for first time there and birthday dinner."

  • "Overall, this place is amazing!! It has some if the most amazing views of the city!! The servers are great, as for the food is delicious with great portion sizes."

  • "The best view restaurant in Boston. This is the place to bring a date for special occasions. Our waiter was top notch. The food is a solid 4 stars (not 5 but still very good). Prices are about what you'd expect for a good restaurant in Boston. I probably eat here once a year and have never had a bad experience."

  • "I took some friends to celebrate a birthday dinner and they were very impressed with everything. I had requested a window table for 7pm, and were seated right away, at a window table. It was a wonderful evening. Martin did an outstanding job to make us feel valued. He is a great asset to the restaurant. We will definitely visit again."

  • "I've been here many times and each time I was wowed by the view, service, food, and reasonable prices. Sadly, this time did not match previous visits on any front. I made a reservation for my birthday and was very excited as this restaurant is one of my favorites. I waited for a table when I arrived, which is fine but after they seated us, we had the worst table in the house, back corner of a back room and away from the window. Right after we sat down, two window tables got up; it's hate to anticipate that, but it was a bummer. Our server was fine, so no issue there. Food was not nearly as good as usual. Lobster tasted old. Only plus was the view which we couldn't see well and my dinner guest. I'd recommend for the view and drinks only."

  • "A bit dissapointed. My food was overcooked. Took a long time to get it. My son's fish was dry. Maybe we were not lucky."

  • "Our family was absolutely amazed at the dinner experience at this restaurant. Excellent, attentive service and knock your socks off food experience. Views are incredible especially if you get experience the sun go down on the city! Highly recommended!"

  • "I thought my experience was good. Not what I expected as far as the view. Not as nice as people made it seem. Personally the water front has better views of the city. I would go back to just grab a drink but really not a big deal. Nothing super fancy, the food was good but not great. Overall I felt it was a little over rated."

  • "We went to lunch at the Top of the Hub for my son's 21st birthday. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was delicious. The drinks were great with no skimping on the alcohol. Lunch prices were a little high but well worth the view of Boston. We plan to return in the summer to enjoy the ambiance and food again."

  • "We were looking for a special place within walking distance of our hotel and found it! We had a window table facing MIT and the views as the night lights came on were beautiful. Mario, our server, was excellent and his food recommendations were right on. Look forward to going back."

  • "Of course the view was spectacular and the the food was really, really good!"

  • "We arrived via shaky elevator unto this spectacular view of a most impressive wine room, we were seated immediately onto a table by the window. The view we had was nothing by amazing, we could see all the lights Boston and then some. The service was amazing, the waiters were very attentive and very knowledgeable with regards to wines and the food. We ordered the pre defined banquet and the new york strip - of which both were very good. This restaurant as you would expect is on the very pricey side but if you take the banquet you come away extremely satisfied. I'd definitely go again."

  • "I took my wife here for our anniversary and it was very nice and the food and staff were great. However, when I made my reservation I informed the restaurant it was my anniversary and if possible could we have a window. I was told that they cannot make reservations for a window but they will do what they could to get me one. When we arrived we were not given a window which was fine except for the fact that it was a Tuesday and they were not that busy. The whole time we were there, four or five window tables were consistently vacant and the restaurant still refused to move us."

  • "We booked a 6:00 reservation for our daughter's 21st birthday. The entire experience was phenomenal. We were promptly greeted at our reservation time and were given our requested table at the window. All of the staff was accommodating without being instrusive. We were allowed to linger over all the dinner courses, while enjoying daylight, sunset and nighttime views. Our waiter even brought a a birthday dessert. The food and drink were both excellent. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and it was the best mohito I ever had! It was a perfect special 21st bday celebration!"

  • "I'd recommend it for a drink and the scenic view. If you are staying for dinner definitely worth the wait for a window seat. Although the appetizers were tasty (Beet salad and the tartare of yellowfin tuna) we were not impressed with our main course - the braised short ribs. A bit pricey for the quality of food but I guess you are really paying for the view! If I go back I would skip the main course and have a couple of appetizers, drinks and enjoy the view!"
