With two kids under 8, the staff were very friendly and treated the chilkder very well. We were late due to traffic in Boston, but the restaurant accommodated the half hour delay on a busy Friday night, which we appreciated. The food was average, on the other hand. The steaks were overcooked in our opinion, although the waiter disputed our assessment(!). So if you decide on steak and want it done 'medium', I would recommend asking for 'rare' (or no more than rare-to-medium). Not only were the menu choices unique in their ingredients, the presentation and service was spot on. The duck confit and wild mushroom strudel and the spicy lobster soup were especially flavorful. The portions were not overly large, which made it easier to save room for dessert. The Boston cream pie did not disappoint and the view only added to a most memorable evening. I arrive on time for my reservation, however they won't sit you until the party is complete, they told me to wait at the bar but no sits were available there so I had to wait 15 minutes standing.
The food was very good, I did not like that there was a lot of pressure to order because the kitchen was about to be closed (at 10:30 pm). The veal we asked for medium rare came out very well done, which was disappointing. We got some extra desserts, however that does not make up for a bad main course. It was the perfect culmination to an unforgettable day. Service was as superb as the meal was delicous, and the views spectacular. We started out in the lounge as we got there a bit earlier had nice view there with a couple of drinks each, Travis was our lounge server, he had great timing!
Our waiter Fernando was extremely helpful and gave us a wonderful night knowing it was a special night for our son (newly Civil Engineer) - I don't think I ever had a more tender piece of strip steak ever, it was a melt in your mouth fabulous! The other 2 had wonderful meals highly rated by them. My son's dessert came out with Congratulations written in chocolate around the plate and a sparkler candle in his dessert. On April 15th we celebrated my husband's second running of the Boston Marathon and loved being able to look down at the marathon finish line and see all of the spectators on a beautiful, exciting, triumphant day in the city. After leaving the restaurant and seeing my husband pass at mile 26, we all know how the day turned incredibly dark....despite the blue skies.
