She was very impressed and amazed at this place. The food...as always...was incredible. Shannon was our server and did a fantastic job. He had a great personality, spaced our meal out very well, we were never rushed, nor did we ever wait a long time for the next serving. Crab cakes...incredible as always, the center cut filet was cooked to absolute perfection, the surf and turf was just the right size...normally we take some of it home just because the serving is huge. And the canolli's....wow. Their steaks and seafood were great, the sides lacked that oomph that would have put them in the great category. I may be picky, but a true Greek Salad usually features Greek Olives, not your typical out of the can black and green olives. Their bread prior to the meal was very good, crunchy, with a soft flavorful bread. Their creme brulee was so so, so I should have tried their chocolate dessert choice. Wine list extensive and the quality was good. I would suggest to my friends that they visit this restaurant. Enjoyed the friendliness of owner Tony Ricci and the Hostess. However, on the negative side, our server, although very apologetic , let us down by not acknowledging us for about 12 minutes or more after being seated (without menus as the servers provide the menus) - alledgedly due to us having carried our cocktails from the bar area to our table. We were left to hailing a water-server who summoned our server. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and Tony and his group do a fantastic job of making their guests feel at home and welcome. The food is wonderful and so are the specials. If you go on the weekend, be sure to make a reservation, and hang around to hear the jazz group that plays on the weekend evenings. The price point is similar to Jeff Ruby's, but has a bit more value with a salad and potato included with each steak. Shannon was our waiter on this visit. Excellent service! He noticed my date seemed cold and took care of raising the temperature as soon as possible. We both appreciated that. He also had a great personality that made the visit more enjoyable. We went for a special occasion, we are new to the area. We were greeted enthusiastically at every turn on our way to our table. Our waiter was charming and discreet. He was helpful in selecting wine and entrees.
The food was from the first to the last on point delicious. We had the filet and the Dallas Clark strip steak, both cooked to perfection and tasty. We both had the Caesar Salad, flavorful, and we chose a side of sauteed spinach. We wanted the creamed spinach, but decided on the healthier saute, which was enough to share.
Our wine was a full bodied super Tuscan, which married perfectly with the steaks.

The one negative is that it was VERY noisy and then they had a piano player on top of the diner/restaurant noise. It is a pleasant departure from the "Ruby" restaurants of Cincinnati. While the service staff and food are amazing at both places, there is something more genuine about Tony's. Every staff member as you walk to your table stops to invite you to "enjoy your meal" or "welcome" you. Again as you exit, every staff member stops again to thank you. The special bone-in ribeyes at market price were worth the price and prepared perfectly to order. The sea bass special was amazing - layers of flavor and perfect texture pleased the palate as much as the presentation pleased the eye. The bucatini puttanesca rivaled the sea bass with layers of mouth-pleasing flavor and perfectly cooked pasta. The service, headed by Eileen, was everything one would wish -- polished, accommodating, pleasant and never obtrusive. Tony was a warm, welcoming host when he stopped by the table. The service staff from our server (Michelle???) to Tony himself is very personable and attentive. Our entrees took a while longer to come out than I would have expected but they were all delicious and worth the extra wait.
The atmosphere was lively with a good mix of ages, table sizes, etc., and the band was very good as well.

Tony always visits every table. You can tell he has a passion for his place. Wife had the usually terrific sea bass. I had the special bone in strip. Incredibly tender for a strip, generously thick. I never had this cut before and can say its now my fave. Pricy, yes. But you won't find a more special Italian steakhouse in the city. She even had great tips for exactly how the kitchen staff normally prepared and could otherwise prepare dishes. The manager ensured all went well with appropriate timing.
