Diner Reviews
  • "The food is amazing and always plentiful. Pasta is always Al dente. Chicken cacciatore is amazing"

  • "It was our first visit in NY and in Tony's restaurant! We were there with kids and waitress was amazing with us! Ravioli were the best we ever had!"

  • "Went for a Bach party. Lots of food decent prices. Great location"

  • "I am Italian and the food was very disappointing. we ordered the Italian Sausage and peppers, the sausage was not very good tasting at all. The fettuccine sauce was very light in texture not heavy like it should be. The Veal Parmesan had onions in it, never saw it done like that before. Overall I would not eat there again."

  • "Dishes are served family style for 2-3 people. We had Cold Antipasto platter for appetizer and it was great. Did not look like a lot of food but lots of variety and very appetizing. It comes with a bunch of fresh basil which I would break off and eat with the vegetables. Yum. Bread they gave was tasty, no olive oil though, just butter. For entree we had Chicken and Eggplant with a side of Broccoli Rabe. Both platters were tremendous in size and taste. 4 chicken breasts sandwiched between two pieces of eggplant parmigiana-style with a great red gravy. Finally, our server was excellent, friendly, attentive and everything came quickly especially considering how busy they were. Only negative was how loud the place was."

  • "the restaurant was not packed. we ordered our lunch and waited and waited until 50 minutes later our lunch came out. the tables around us were seated after us and got their food before us. seems like the waiter must have forgotten the order...when the food came out, the food was ok. stuff that we could make at home and taste the same. the linguini with clams were average and the pasta used seems to be from store bought and not freshly made. we wanted a change from the carmine's scene but next time i'll stick to carmines..."

  • "Everything about Tony's was excellent except that it was a little loud. I wouldn't hesitate to go back though. Highly recommended!"

  • "What a great restaurant in the middle of the Theater District. The portions are huge- so lots of sharing - which they encourage. It was so good we ate there the 2 nights we were in town. Prompt service, wonderful food and the reservation capability is a plus for me. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We have been to Tony DiNapoli's on multiple occasions. The good is very consistent every time we go and the service is top notch. The last time we were there, we were stuck in major delays at the Lincoln tunnel and had to change our reservation time. We called the restaurant directly and they were very polite and understanding. I would definitely recommend Tony's to everyone who visits midtown."

  • "If you are in Times Square this is is a must stop. Excellent food and quick friendly service. If you don't want to be quick you don't have to be! Food keeps getting better each time we come back!! Celebrated my birthday and received a photo to take home! A+++"

  • "The food was good, not as spot on as usual but maybe because you were rushing to accommodate our schedule. The service is great as usual."

  • "If you don't know good Italian food then this place is for you. I was raised eating Italian food made by my grandmother from Italy. Antipasta was from a jar, I've had much better penne vodka. Was not impressed at all"

  • "Since I love to cook (and am very good at it), I "never" order pasta as a main course when I go out to eat. The only "rule breaker" for this is Tony's DiNapoli's "Spaghetti Bolognese"! It it TO DIE for! OMG! I've brought many gatherings to dinner here over the years, and this dish is a staple. Won't leave without having it! Also, the calamari, mussels, chicken dishes (I've tried many) and the salads are always a super-hit. Just delicious food....great service....lively atmosphere....my favorite restaurant!!!"

  • "This restaurant is a great find, but judging the number of people on a Sunday night, the secret is out. We loved the ambiance of this restaurant and the food was delicious. Our server was very friendly and helpful getting through the menu with so many selections. There is no doubt it was noisy but that was part of the feel. Food came promptly but never felt rushed. Portions are large, family style, but still well prepared. This restaurant is a great value for the quality of food. If we lived in New York we would be regulars."

  • "Un service hors pair, une bonne table dans une belle ambiance, quoi demander de mieux ?! Prix qualité plus qu'acceptable, si on connait le concept de service, il ne peut pas y avoir de mauvaise surprise sur la facture."

  • "Great for grabbing a quick bite before a show. Good came out quickly fatter being ordered!"
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "Noise level was high but a lot of that was due to the world cup final on TV. After Brazil won the noise level went down somewhat. There are tables downstairs that were much quieter if you want to have any sort of conversation with the people you are with."

  • "Wonderful experience with all the tastes and smells of authentic Italian food. We had the cold antipasto, the vodka rigatoni, and the chicken francese. All great tasting. The francese sauce was lighter than others but so tasty we were dipping our bread into it. Patty was an excellent server and the meal pace was just right."

  • "This was definitely the best dinner experience we had in NYC. The portions are enormous and the food, desserts included, are delicious."

  • "We knew it was family style, but they weren't kidding! We split the caesar salad and seafood pasta in red sauce. Could have fed more than just two! But it was very good, and we both commented the best calamari we ever had. Would definitely return again, maybe with more people!"

  • "We were really impressed with the quality of the food and the friendly service. A find for us, we will definitely return when we go back to NCY."

  • "My wife and I had an outstanding meal before going to a play across the street. This is a family style menu. We had the special shrimp appetizer and Shrimp Diablo dinner. Both were excellent and large portions. I definitely recommend this place."

  • "Came here twice. First time was for lunch with my company second time was dinner with my family. First time the place was moderate noise and pleasant service but second time, the table next to us was atrocious. So loud like they were the only ones there and our waitress was gone talking to fellow co workers at the bar most of the time."

  • "My sister & I came here for my early birthday dinner. We had gone to your Upper East Side location a few years ago so we decided to try your Times Square location. We were not disappointed. The seafood was out of this world!"

  • "Any time I venture to New York, I book a meal at Tony Di Napoli's. The service is always great, the meal delicious and atmosphere tremendous. I recommend the Chicken Parm, but everything is excellent. The sauce has a unique taste that really brings your tast buds to life."

  • "We were very happy with our experience here. Our server was friendly and didn't seem to mind at all when our children couldn't decide on their order. The portions were very large (they are served family style). The veal parmigiana was excellent. The pasta Alfredo was a little watery, but still tasty. The salads were fresh and vibrant. Most importantly, my picky eaters ate it all! Great value for your money2 - especially given the restaurant's proximity to Times Square."

  • "Came back after first time dining here a few months ago and was disappointed. Food was underwhelming. Linguini with garlic and oil was bland and chicken marseille was also not very good. Took home leftovers and never even ate them. Probably wont be back..."

  • "This was our first time at Tony's. I stayed away because of the family style servings. When we go out, everyone orders something different. BUt when I found out that for lunch you can order off an individual lunch menu, I was excited to give it a try. I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and spaghetti. The size of the meal was overwhelming. My daughter ordered Chicken Francese that came with either spaghetti or broccoli pene. We were 20 minutes early for our 1:00 lunch reservation, but we were seated right away. All in all a fun place to go with very reasonable prices."

  • "I did a lot of research before this trip.... Sardi's, Carmines, and others... I picked Tony's Di Napoli and we were so thrilled with our lunch before The Lion King matinee. We arrived with 2 hours to kill and enjoyed salad, plus family style chicken parm and pasta. Everything was delicious. The service was great and the manager came over to congratulate my son on his graduation -- plus, they sent him a massive ice cream sundae. I always use the Open Table field if there is a special request/occasion and it's nice when the restaurant takes the time to acknowledge it. I would definately recommend Tony's -- everything was perfect."

  • "Had a fab pre-theater dinner here with my niece. It can be a bit of a challenge for two people, since everything is family style and the portions are huge, but it is excellent value for price. Highly recommend the shrimp and artichoke appetizer (not on menu, so ask for it; enough for two for dinner) plus a pasta dish. Nice wine-by-glass selection at reasonable prices. Our server was less than stellar—didn't even tell us the specials—but I suspect that was just her and I'd go back again for the lively ambiance and great food again. My niece loved it. Perfect place to take teenagers."

  • "I took my brother, two sisters and neice for dinner at Tony's to celebrate our birthdays. I eat here often during week, its one of my favorite places. very disappointed on a Saturday night to be told I couldnt have my usual appetizer the way i like it and one of the specials was only 3 pieces instead of 4. Everything I asked for was said with "well its the weekend and they are very busy". my family has never been there before. One sister is in the food business &the others husband owns a restaurant so they were disappointed that things were not the way I asked and to be told they are busy. I didnt ask for anything out of the way. it was my usual requests. not enough space to go into detail here but i will leave it that we were disappointed"

  • "Great food choices and I have never had a bad tasting dish in the last 10 years I am dinning here. Food is absolutly delicious and wonderfully prepared. Colamari, Penne Vodka, Baked Clams and Chicken Parm are my families usual choices. Althought, I do try to switch it up a bit. The White Sangria is my favorite wine choice and the red is my wife's choice. Thanks for a pleasant dinning experience..."
